Overview:
Genostories is a legacy-preservation platform in the form of a mobile app. It enables users to create, store, and share life stories, reflections, and personal messages in a secure, digital vault. The platform supports multimedia content (videos, audios, photos, texts) and includes unique features like future delivery, scheduled vault access, family tree building, and a community for sharing experiences.

Overall, communication was consistent, and their agile approach allowed for flexibility without compromising the integrity or timeline of the project.

What impresses us most about Bytenana is their ability to deeply understand the emotional purpose behind our product. They weren’t just coding features—they were helping us build a meaningful legacy platform with heart.

Their team approached every detail, from the timelines structure to the timed vault openings, with a thoughtful and mission-aligned mindset. That combination of technical skill, empathy, and dedication to user experience is what makes Bytenana truly unique among development partners.

Are there any areas for improvement or something ByteNaNa could have done differently?

While our overall experience with Bytenana was highly positive, there are always areas where any team can grow, especially in a dynamic project like ours.

Testing & Polishing Details: A few minor UI issues—such as placeholder messages or inactive icons—made it into early versions. Strengthening the final testing phase could help catch those small details before release.
Timeline Updates: Although deliverables were consistently met, having more proactive communication when timelines shifted would have helped us better plan on our side.
That said, Bytenana was always receptive to feedback, quick to address concerns, and committed to delivering quality. Their flexibility and dedication turned challenges into opportunities for improvement.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Itri Corporation, an agriculture company. We’ve invented and are now offering a persistent visual and far-IR image data system that enables the autonomous monitoring and evaluation of plant stresses and plant water status.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with ByteNaNa?

We needed help to build a site that would facilitate the real-time remote sensing system that our clients would deploy to monitor their crops. The system would also provide an assessment of the image data so that our clients could manage their crops and guide irrigation.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The scope of work needed to develop and implement the system was enormous and beyond my understanding of how it should be developed. The software engineer from ByteNaNa talked about what I needed the system to do for my clients and how my system administrator needed to manage it. From there, we agreed upon a set of requirements, and ByteNaNa delivered the system to operations. In the architecture deployed, we could easily add new capabilities to the system, including a first-of-its-kind agricultural AI toolbox.

ByteNaNa’s main deliverable was the cloud implementation of the Hawk-Eye™ System.

What is the team composition?

We worked with one teammate from ByteNaNa.

How did you come to work with ByteNaNa?

I found ByteNaNa through a referral. I was told that they had the software engineering skills and discipline to take on my project, and their hourly rates were very affordable.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2024, and the system is operational as of July 2025. However, we will continue to add system capabilities.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We received demo and prototype versions of the system as it was being developed. We were able to connect a camera set to the system, and I could study and test results as the system matured. Overall, the system was moving toward my vision of what my clients needed. One client stated that he wished this type of system was available 20 years ago when he started as a grower.

ByteNaNa delivered on time and responded well to our needs. We primarily communicated via Microsoft Teams and email.
