Our co-operation started with the general inquiry which was followed with establishing the scope and signing the contract. Project kick-off meeting was held to provide deeper insight for their designers and developers about the needs of our company. Active branding and logo design period had interim review and feedback sessions until we settled with satisfactory visuals. 

Webpage design was the next step and the review/feedback sessions similarly lead to a desired result. Active web development phase was also similar in that sense that we had reviews and they improved the webpage as was needed. After the project was finished, we received the documentation and were able to start using the new webpage immediately. Their team remained in contact and helpful if we had any questions even after the original end of the project.

They fulfilled the expectations. They had their general schedule set from the beginning and informed us about the required input that we had to provide in order for them to deliver the design and development. Delivery times were met from their side very well. It was rather our end that during our high season period of our main business we did not manage to provide important input information and materials on time, so the project timeline was changed. 

To our relief they were flexible in their side and the budget remained the same. Their team always responded to our concerns and proposed the solutions so the final result was really matching what we needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I guess it is not unique in this field but for us it was impressive how well their team delivered the project with only online messages and video meetings communication.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Bryton could have done differently?

Looking back, I guess they could have made a bit more aggressive attempt to convince us and sell us some additional work, namely the generating of the webpage information which we had decided to provide ourselves during our initial and interim scope meetings. At the time when this option (that they could do it as an extra) was on the table we were sure to be able to provide the input in a reasonable time ourselves but it took longer than expected and thus prolonged the project a bit.

Bryton created and developed a responsive blog page, and transferred current data from the existing blog to the website. Additionally, consulted on the design and functionalities. After successful cooperation, the Bryton agency took responsibility for the whole new website development, which allowed us to complete a successful rebranding and bring more traffic.

A quick and easy-to-use website in many languages, which boosted traffic and made things simple for both the team and users.

I’m the owner and CEO of Stories for Impact. We provide consultancy and research services, mainly concerned with social and environmental impact management.

What challenge were you trying to address with Bryton?

Our existing website was outdated, so we were looking for a partner who could help us build a new page.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bryton built our new website using Elementor WordPress. Though our old website used the same technology, the team rebuilt everything from scratch. They handled both the frontend and backend development. With the exception of the logo, the header image, and the color palette, which were done by another designer, Bryton handled the entirety of the design as well. 

The web page itself has an interactive menu as well as a plug-in for showing activity highlights, and different assignments and events. We have a blog, a plug-in for social media, a contact form, and other pages for our team, all of which Bryton implemented.

What is the team composition?

We worked mainly with two people from Bryton. Jan (Founding Partner and Developer) was our main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Bryton?

One of my colleagues is currently an IT student, and she looked for other students that could provide good quality when we were searching for an agency. She found Bryton and was impressed with their portfolio and experience with WordPress, so we decided to give them a try. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent less than $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project took place from February–March 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The site’s quite new, so I can’t speak to its long-term impact yet. However, the end result fits our needs perfectly. We’re pleased with the design, which we find to be quite nice and lively. The site itself is easy to use and to update, so we can make adjustments without having to invest in more external help. There have been no major bugs, which was a nice surprise.

Not only have our own expectations been fulfilled, the feedback we’ve received from partners and new clients has been encouraging as well. 

How did Bryton perform from a project management standpoint?

Bryton worked quite effectively. Throughout the project, we were in contact via Facebook Messenger. We also used Google Drive to share screenshots. The team worked with us in real time, asking for feedback on the design along the way. For their part, their reactions were very quick, and they waited on us more than we had to wait on them. Further, now that the project has ended, if we ever have a question they respond just as quickly now as they did when we were working together.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They really understood our design expectations. As we’re not designers ourselves, we could only describe to Bryton approximately what the site should look like. We told them we wanted a lively and exciting page, and they understood that and were able to execute. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

From a project management perspective, I would’ve preferred for them to propose more meetings. Though Facebook Messenger worked well for the most part, it became a bit ineffective at times, when discussing certain issues. It would’ve been more efficient to replace some of our communication with a half-hour call, for instance, when we had a lot of quick decisions to make.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I advise agreeing beforehand to have regular management calls regularly as well as when the need arises.

The previous website & its design was really outdated so we were in the need of website that would better bring out the beauty of our venue and increase our social presence.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The company designed and developed a webpage that included big & bold images, and described our services. Furthermore, the website was designed to be SEO-friendly to get more organic traffic.

How did you come to work with Bryton?

Through a friend who knew to recommend them.

How much have you invested with them?

Between €1000–€2000 (approximately $1,100–$2,2000 USD)

What is the status of this engagement?

At some points, I still contact them to get help with minor website-related things - if I need something updated, they have been happy to help.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

It worked really well from the beginning. They knew what they were doing and were quite transparent about it, so we had no disagreements.

How did Bryton address the challenges that arose?

There were no major challenges/disagreements. Maybe most mentionable is that we were quite specific how we wanted the website to look - so they offered us 3 different designs/outlooks to choose from and then developed the website on the basis of the chosen one.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

Definitely more visitors on the site, even though we don’t use paid ads - just the traffic from SEO, which is amazing. In addition, I get less calls about general things because many of the easy questions are now answered on the site.

Before, the webpage did not have contact form, so all of the mails were sent directly; whereas now most of the queries come from the contact form. It is hard to tell but I guess that makes the contacting easier for the customers, and increases the amount of queries.

How was project management handled?

They had a project manager, who sent me a proposal, which included a description about the work they will be doing, how it is done, how much hours, price and everything else useful.

Project manager was also responsible for everything. Basically, the work was divided into 5 steps and we worked step by step until we got the result. In every step, I had the possibility to ask for a revision.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

I think the delivery speed was amazing and their professionalism was great. Everything was written down to the proposal and there were no verbal promises.

In what specific areas can they improve?

Maybe their initial descriptions about the project could have been simpler because I don’t know much about the technical stuff, but they explained everything and promised in the future to keep it simple.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

I think the team at the Bryton agency are definitely the kind of people you would like to work with. Input from the client is also important when making a website. Describe your needs precisely, provide them with photos, information about your company etc, and then you will get the best possible result.

Web Development with continous optimization. Goal of the web was not only to make a face for the project, but to send traffic to the web page from smaller campaigns, which meant changes had to be made all the time.

The Design was already set, meaning the Web had to be made as close to the design as possible. All the rest was figured out on the go, that Bryton successfully managed.

At times, when necessary, the developers even stayed up late at night to meet the unprecedented deadlines.

Communication tools are mainly Slack. Difficult to comment on the timelines, as much of it was set to very high standards by the Solaride team itself.
