The outcome has supported smoother cross-functional collaboration between marketing, regulatory and production teams, reducing development friction and improving go-to-market preparedness.

Brandwell demonstrated strong project management throughout the engagement. Milestones were clearly outlined at the outset, and communication was consistent and transparent across all stages of the project.

What impressed us most was Brandwell’s ability to translate strategic positioning into a cohesive and scalable visual system. They didn’t approach the project as a purely aesthetic exercise, but rather as a commercial brand transformation.

The team demonstrated a strong understanding of retail dynamics, packaging hierarchy and long-term brand architecture, ensuring the outcome was not only visually elevated but also practical for production and future product extensions.

In addition, they provided valuable recommendations regarding packaging materials, label finishes and bottle selection, helping us balance brand perception, cost considerations and production feasibility. Their guidance in these areas added tangible commercial value beyond design execution.

If anything, earlier alignment workshops involving all key decision-makers could further streamline future projects and reduce revision cycles. However, Brandwell remained responsive and adaptable throughout the process.

We appointed Brandwell for the rebrand of our business identity. As part of the scope we had a refresh of our logo, fonts, colours and messaging. We also had a competitor analysis conducted to better understand our positioning. Once the visual identity was confirmed, we proceeded with the website development.

They were always very responsive. We had some miscommunication around the functionality of the website backend which we are currently working through the solution.

We like the simplicity of how they bring all the branding together. Sometimes this can be quite complex but they could understand our vision and bring it to life. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Brandwell could have done differently?

The team would have liked more clarity with the functionality of the website backend as we said we needed the flexibility to reuse sections of the website to build additional pages including landing pages. It was only after handover that it was brought to our attention that the website was not built with this type of usability. We are working through a solution however this will incur further investment which was not originally planned for.

I engaged Brandwell to develop a full brand identity for my retail coffee business. The initial scope of work included brand framework, constructing a verbal and visual identity, packaging design for my range as well as website design and webshop.

Initially the project was to be spread over 16 weeks. As the project gathered momentum, further design elements to compliment the brand were thought up. This naturally extended the timeline of the project but all timelines were amended and communicated very well.

Firstly, I was impressed by Brandwell's ability to workshop as a team to compile information which was to be used to create my brand identity. Through consultation we discovered the brand archetype which was carried through into all aspects of design . It wad through this ongoing consultation that they assisted me in further understanding my own brand.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Brandwell could have done differently?

Bradwell has done an exceptional job in all aspects of this brand-building project. All additional design work that was thought up on the fly to amplify the vision for my brand was executed with class.

I’m the managing director of Kenshi Life Changing Candles, a social enterprise that makes candles and diffusers.

We hired Brandwell to help us with our rebranding efforts and product design needs.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Brandwell has completely redesigned the look and feel of our candles and diffusers. They’ve also redesigned our stands where we display our products. We’ve had many meetings with them to discuss how things should look and why until we’ve achieved a distinctive look. 

For specific tasks, Brandwell has redesigned everything from our fonts to our logo and packaging design. They’ve also provided some helpful suggestions for our website, but their main scope of work covers only our product and brand. 

Moreover, their members work closely with printing vendors to handle the intricacies of our brand colors. For context, we have different colors for different products, and we print labels on those products and the boxes. The team has helped match the colors as properly as possible by working directly with the label company and the company that prints our packaging.

We work with three teammates from Brandwell. Our main point of contact is one of their directors, but we also interface with Damien (Creative Director & Co-Founder) and another teammate. 

How did you come to work with Brandwell?

Brandwell received one of our candles as a gift from someone, and they saw the potential of how it should be packaged. They contacted us and gave us a vision of how our product should look. We quickly realized that their vision was a whole lot better than the way our candles looked in the years before.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $15,000–$20,000 AUD (approximately $10,000–13,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started our partnership with Brandwell in July 2021, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our engagement with Brandwell has been a huge success. We’ve had an immediate improvement in brand perception and results in the marketplace. Our products have attracted more partners that want to sell our products. Even the stands have been great; people look at them, and they immediately know that we’re some type of charity — they immediately think positively about us. 

As far as numbers go, our business has more than doubled in the last two years since working with Brandwell. We’ve had about 250% growth, and I attribute half of that growth to our clearer understanding of our brand. Our team is now better at articulating our brand, thanks to Brandwell’s knowledge. 

Moreover, we’re truly happy with our packaging, which is a plain brown box with a minimalist design. It’s perfect because we’re not trying to be nice, pretty, or colorful. Other brands differentiate themselves by being more complicated. However, because of what we stand for — which is funding food and providing employment to refugees — our box should be plain and minimalistic.

Overall, the team has helped us dig deeper into what our brand is actually selling. While it may look like we’re only selling candles and diffusers, we’re truly selling goodwill, hope, and optimism as a social enterprise that funds food. Brandwell's resources have helped us understand that at a deeper level. 

How did Brandwell perform from a project management standpoint?

Brandwell has been highly responsive. There’s been a point when I feel guilty because I need things quickly due to new accounts and marketing efforts. Despite that, they turn around items quite quickly; it’s usually within a week. We communicate by email and phone, and we’ve had a number of face-to-face meetings. They’ve come here and donated their time as well, volunteering a few times to make candles. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive thing about Brandwell is their intricate understanding of our brand and how it should be portrayed to the market. They understand it and educate us that our brand is about changing lives, and that’s our best message. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. I honestly can’t fault them, and they’ve been truly responsive.

Book a meeting with Brandwell and discuss exactly what your brand stands for to truly understand what you’re selling. It’s not the product or the service but what the people feel when they consider buying your brand. Have a detailed analysis of why your brand exists and what values it brings.

There are many many landscaping companies in Melbourne targeting similar target areas however our market is very different being a specialist in Japanese gardens. We are not aiming to be number one on generic google searches for "landscape gardener Melbourne" but very much wanted to be able to target high end premium clients looking for a Japanese garden services. 

We wanted to lift our image so that we could pitch our gardens at the top end of the new luxury home market in exclusive suburbs of Melbourne. We wanted to lift our image so that we are viewed as the number one Japanese landscaping company in Melbourne. 

We want our customers to feel like they are investing in a safe and reputable business that will provide them with a high end product. We aimed to reduce the number of "tyre kicker" type inquiries and ensure that potential clients had an idea of the cost of our services prior to them contacting us.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have received excellent feedback from our clients and suppliers following the launch of our rebranding. We have had increased genuine traffic and follow on business through our website. The client enquiries we receive are from our target market and more regularly include leading architectural firms of Melbourne. We have had a noticeable increase in our project budgets targeting clients with $150-300k spends.

Timelines were communicated clearly and were all met on time. Brandwell spent ample time to get to know us and our clients to understand our brand and our standing in the community. The project was detailed and costed clearly. As our initial meetings were during the covid lockdown and we had multiple meetings over zoom. Brandwell was able to present well documented and illustrated presentations.

They are a small intimate team who really took time to get to know us and our company. They have an excellent knowledge of Japanese culture and the perception of Japan / Japanese here in Melbourne. They understood and saw the potential of our company and gave us the confidence to pitch our brand.

It would have been nice to meet Brandwell in person at their offices however due to covid lockdown this wasn't possible. This did not have a negative impact on our interactions as Brandwell had adapted well to the restrictions at the time.

We engaged Brandwell to design our website and provide branding elements for our business.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Brandwell developed our brand, and they designed and built our website. They also helped us with 3D renderings of our products and designed our packaging. Additionally, they provided us with digital marketing elements, such as email design and formatting. The team used Adobe Photoshop for the design work.

First, I gave them a brief of our requirements, and we had further discussions about the scope of work. From there, Brandwell provided us with a summary of what they'd be able to achieve and a cost breakdown. They created a wireframe sketch for the initial design concept with some stock photos and graphic elements to create a feel for the imagery and concept.

What is the team composition?

I was engaged with two people at Bradwell: Anthony and Damien (Co-Founders & Creative Directors). 

How did you come to work with Brandwell?

I found them on Clutch. We were in the market for a local company with experience in web design and branding elements. I wanted to engage with someone who lived locally and understood the demographic so they could aid in the project's success. I found Brandwell, read positive reviews on their Clutch profile, and then checked their website. We started the engagement after that.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $30,000 AUD (approximately $21,000 USD) in total.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from February 2021–January 2022. However, the team has provided additional elements upon request, such as imagery and 3D render support.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Brandwell was very good, open, and forthcoming in their execution of the work. The team's ability to deliver on time was great, and so was their responsiveness to requests and scope creep. Anthony and Damien were very engaged throughout the process. Moreover, the team's communication was very clear. Their invoicing was also transparent; they were obliging with queries regarding billings or invoice breakdown requests. Overall, working with Brandwell was a good experience. 

We haven't gone live yet, and our indicators of their success will be the desirability of the product, the packaging design, and the basic functions of the website. Time will tell how their work will perform. However, I'm confident that they've helped us create a very comprehensive and exciting new brand for the market. 

How did Brandwell perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management skills were very good. The initial consultation and willingness to work were excellent; they created a well-done project plan with a full breakdown of the deliverables. This helped me understand the project and how long each element would take. Additionally, they met schedules and deadlines. The team was open about their timelines and when they could complete each section of the work. 

As for communication, we mostly used email. However, there were times when the complexity of a discussion warranted a phone call, so we spoke over the phone several times. They were always happy to take our call; I never felt neglected as a client. Brandwell felt like an extension of my internal team. They were easy to communicate with and understood the scope of work really well. I appreciated their initiative in throwing ideas into the mix; the team was forthcoming with their recommendations in their areas of expertise, such as product packaging. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Brandwell's ability to understand the project's scope and our expectations was first class. Their design work was also great, and they delivered according to the brief. These two elements made them stand out from the crowd. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve their web design process. Brandwell used a third-party web developer, which is fine in itself. However, this caused the communication to become clunky. When I requested changes in web design, it would take a long time for the updates to happen, and I had to follow up a couple of times, which became frustrating. They needed to improve their communication with the subcontractor or get someone in-house instead of a third-party developer. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to approach Brandwell with a clear understanding and idea of your deliverables. You must also communicate what you want from your brand design effectively. Providing examples of web designs that you like and want to replicate is also helpful. This will set your project off to a really good start.

In our engagement with Brandwell, we did extensive preparation for the proposal. The team was forthcoming in organizing briefing meetings. We went through a series of targeted questions for Brandwell to understand my business and what we were trying to achieve as a brand. This was instrumental in setting a good foundation for our partnership.

They developed a new logo and rebranded the company image to better represent where we want to go. Their insight and the experience they have is exceptional. They developed an new website that is just brilliant.

To start our engagement, they spent a day learning about the specificities of our business. Then, they created our website and contributed design elements to our app. They also helped us create two professional logos to distinguish the two segments of our business. Once our app is more finalized, we’re planning on doing some digital marketing work with them as well. This would include social media marketing and promotional work.

I worked with Damian (Creative Director & Co-Founder), Anthony (Creative Director & Co-Founder), and one other member of their team. I believe they also brought in an outside firm to help build the website.

They do the marketing for a Japanese gardening page I follow. I was impressed with their work and their ability to communicate on behalf of the page.

We worked together from December 2020–May 2021. As I mentioned earlier, we’re planning on working with them again in the future.

Feedback has been great. We’ve only heard good things from internal and external parties. We haven’t done a ton of promotional work yet since our app isn’t finalized just yet, but our suppliers have liked what they’ve seen.

They were great project managers. Their team was very responsive throughout the engagement. There were some delays, but those were due to us. Our project wasn’t very complicated, so we relied on email and phone calls for communication.

They took the time to listen to us and understand what we’re trying to achieve. They did everything they could to combat any cultural barriers we might encounter in the marketplace.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Some of the graphics they initially used weren’t too related to our business. When we communicated our displeasure about this to them, they promptly replaced them.

Tell them what you want. They’ll help you achieve it. Even though they’re busy with other projects, they’ll take the time to listen to you.

That included the tone of voice, logo, imagery, and a whole website — just so I had something tangible to take to market. They also created the starting point for my social presence on Instagram and LinkedIn.

I found Brandwell through Google, and they were one of the first agencies to get back to me. I did speak with a couple of other candidates, but I chose Brandwell because I really connected with them from our first interaction. They got me and my business and really understood exactly what I was trying to convey. I also found that they were enthusiastic and passionate about what they did.
