Bolder Apps hooked up the technology that let users safely connect their bank accounts, e-wallets, and crypto. The team built the backend feature that let couples or roommates share a budget and sync expenses in real-time. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Once we launched the app, the numbers proved that Bolder Apps absolutely crushed it. The app blew up globally on both iOS and Android, and users constantly praised the smooth performance and how easy it was to use. Apple and Google featured Spendee as a “Design of the Day” and a top budgeting tool. Bolder Apps’ design team won a Mobile UX Award for how clean and intuitive the interface turned out.

Our daily active users (DAUs) kept growing because the automated bank syncing made it so easy for people to stick to their budgets. Our 30-day user retention hit 42%, which was huge for a personal finance app — the industry average usually hovers around 15–20%. It proved people weren’t just downloading the app and forgetting about it. Our DAUs grew by 35% month-over-month (MoM). Within the first six months, our daily active user base spiked because the automated bank syncing made checking the app a quick daily habit.

Over 65% of users synced a live account within day one. The onboarding flow Bolder Apps built was so smooth that the vast majority of users securely linked their bank or crypto wallet immediately, which completely locked in their long-term engagement.

We tracked our premium subscription metrics closely since that was our main revenue driver. Our free-to-premium conversions jumped by 28%. Bolder Apps designed the paywall and premium feature prompts right at the moments when users felt the most value (like wanting to add a second bank account or share a wallet), which drove a huge spike in upgrades.

Our monthly recurring revenue (MRR) grew by 45% in the first quarter post-launch, mostly because the automated bank sync feature was sticky enough that users were happy to pay the monthly subscription to keep it. Our customer lifetime value (LTV) increased by 30%. Because user retention was so high, people stayed subscribed much longer than we originally projected in our business model.
