Boffoweb Sol are my go to developers for all things website related.  I have been working with Etty Rustagi since the start and we have developed a great friendship and wonderful professional working relationship.

My business provides Digital Marketing solutions for small to medium sized business owners and Boffoweb Sol provided the website developent, built to my designs and standards using the code I needed for further work with the customer.

Key Deliverables:-

1. Develop websites using WordPress / Divi and supplied plugins from WTD.
2. Create the website layouts from supplied artwork / figma / psd layout files.
3. Code up any specific functions using php.
4. All work to be carried out on the WTD Dev server.
5. Liaise with Osmond via email / phone / zoom

Working with Boffoweb Sol has made my Digital Marketing business excel and taken alot of the headaches out of the day to day stuff that I now let them get on with.

Once handed over, I was able to finish the project with my client and go live. I had much success and was very pleased with all the outcomes.

I’m the owner of Visual Purple Web Design, a web development company focusing on backend work on scientific and energy distribution applications. We work with a group of web developers dotted around the globe. I pull together teams to match my client’s needs, mainly from the UK, the US, Nicaragua, Spain, France, and India.

I hired them to provide me with a team of developers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

BoffoWeb solutions provide development services for our clients, helping us with certain aspects of projects. So far, they’ve worked on 3–4 projects with us. For each product, we provide them with documentation and wireframes, and we have meetings with them to discuss the development path and who’s best suited for which aspects. Additionally, the team has helped us with UI/UX design. Clients tend to give a lot of direction in that regard, and BoffoWeb Solutions provides us with recommendations on which direction to go. 

The team helped build applications for a Canada-US-based company whose platform allows municipalities to connect to their citizens. BoffoWeb Solutions produced native apps for Android and iOS. They also helped us with a project for a real estate network in France.  

Our latest project involved Android development in Java. BoffoWeb Services wrote the code for a projector platform used by farmers and nonprofits around Africa and India. The app has an unusual configuration, and the team did various iterations over the last year. The product works offline and has a library of around 400 videos that teach all aspects of small-time farming, including how to survive, grow crops, and raise animals in harsh environments. 

Currently, we’ve started production on a project for an educational organization. BoffoWeb Solutions will develop solutions with a similar setup to the agriculture app. The team will produce mobile apps and a server that will supply educational content for children in Africa. These products must run offline, making development more complicated, and we’re in the throes of that project.

What is the team composition?

So far, I’ve worked with three people from BoffoWeb Solutions; one of them is a project manager and lead developer.

How did you come to work with BoffoWeb Solutions?

I was in contact with one of their founders before BoffoWeb Solutions was formed. She initially contacted me via LinkedIn, and I found her communication efficient. Plus, I appreciated her tenacity in trying to find work. When she and her partner formed BoffoWeb Solutions, I was interested in the team they put together.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve spent between $10,000–$25,000. We pay them piecemeal.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in Q1 2017, and our partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our agriculture client recently received an international award for their work, including the app BoffoWeb Solutions wrote. They’ve indirectly gotten praise for their work, and a couple hundred thousand African farmers are using the app. 

We haven’t experienced bugs with BoffoWeb Solutions. The first release of the agriculture app didn’t have any crashes. Of course, we went through it with a fine-tooth comb because once we delivered the app, we couldn’t retrieve it. The product had to work out of the box, and it has so far.

BoffoWeb Solutions has a team of expert developers who are easy to work with. It can be challenging to rifle through potential developers, and BoffoWeb Solutions provides us with a stable team when I need them. Some offshore providers are quick to promise and offer, then fall short on delivery. Meanwhile, BoffoWeb Solutions is a standout team that consistently delivers on time, with high quality, and at a good price — that's why I come back to them.

How did BoffoWeb Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management has been good. Communication with BoffoWeb Solutions is excellent, and their project manager is exceptional at it. I typically reach them via a WhatsApp group, where we also share files. We have a couple of spreadsheets to keep track of dates. Beyond that, there hasn’t been any need for online management tools because we have such great communication verbally and through text. 

When the need arises, we have video conferences through Zoom. Although there’s a five-and-a-half-hour time difference between us, they go out of their way to make themselves available to suit our schedule and other collaborators' availability. Sometimes there’s a very small window of opportunity for a meeting, and they're always very flexible to meet those needs.

Although there have been some delays, that’s always expected in development. Still, we've had no serious issues with deadlines. Moreover, the BoffoWeb Solutions team has been very patient with delays in other areas, such as APIs, that have nothing to do with them. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’d highlight three qualities in BoffoWeb Solutions: communication, negotiation, and deliverables. They’re willing to listen carefully and negotiate on price. The team is also good at meeting deliverable deadlines. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I haven’t found anything they need to change for us. If there were anything to improve for their sake, I would recommend making sure their English is as clear as possible to get more international clients. I know colleagues who can’t understand accents, and even though the team’s English is structurally very good, it is accented. 

However, I don’t speak their language, so I can’t complain about that. Plus, our language barrier hasn’t hampered our communication.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to deal with BoffoWeb Solutions on a less formal basis. If you interact with them in a human, less structured way, you’ll get better communication and, therefore, a better product.

We needed a fresh approach to our website. Whilst the site is very simple, we wanted it to have a striking impact, at the same time explaining very simply our services.

We wanted some who understood our values, and approach to our clients. We needed a brochure site, not an e-commerce or client driven. At the same time we wanted to manage the contact for the future. The site is required to be flexible with changes in legislation and demands.

We gave an initial brief to Boffo, and they provided us with a few design ideas. We chose one and went with that. After that any minor changes were dealt with promptly by Boffo.

We worked with only one person, but we know behind the scenes there were other people who were working on our site.

After completion of the initial stage, we asked some of our clients & business colleagues to review the site and provide feedback. This was all positive, and we asked Boffo to implement some of the positive suggestions, which they carried out successfully.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The main contact point was very thorough, and we had no issues or any time delays. All our concerns were dealt with very professionally.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were impressed with their understanding of our requirements and their technical know-how was brilliant. However they spoke to us in simple English so we understood the concept without having to overcome any technical jargon.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

From our point of view, everything was done beautifully, however a tech savvy person may have a different view.

Boffoweb Solutions first understood our needs & then gave us a proper protoype. They developed the app for us for both iOS & Android & also published it. Great design team and quick turnaround on our app project and request. With their help we have improved our google search results. Their web development team is very knowledgeable and they always let us know when a new Google update is coming up before anyone even knows.
