I am the CEO of the Slice Squad, a membership program for hairstylists. I have an app and a website, that caters to thousands of hairstylists around the world for digital education.

Blue Slate Films, LLC did my whole branding video, sales video, and website/app photography, to capture who we are as a brand.

I found Blue Slate Films, LLC on social media, and was impressed with the quality of videos that they created for other brands.

The company arrived at my hair studio with their equipment and crew, and spent the day capturing, and directing me. We wrapped up after spending a full work day together.

We did interviews, we shot photos, and they walked me through every single part. We took some beautiful shots outside as well, to all be pieced together.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I worked with Emory, Nathalia, and Mel. They were all professional and the communication was comfortable and flawless.

They were timely in the delivery of proofs, and any edits, they were organized beyond what I could have imagined. They really did it all, and delivered efficiently, I didn't even really have to think about it, they just captured our brand perfectly.

They were right on time, and exceeded my expectations for delivering, and responding via email, for additional proofs, and edits.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were professional, made me feel comfortable (I was nervous) and that quickly dissipated when we were in action. They followed up quickly, and I was surprised at just how efficient they were with the production.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would not have changed a thing about working with Blue Slate Films. They exceeded expectations in every category.

We are a groundbreaking boutique hotel located in Long Island City, with a strong focus on incredible design elements. I am partner & general manager of the hotel.

I hired Blue Slate films for corporate photography & videography, hoping to capture the most important essence of our business: the unparalleled design elements of the property. Our interior design team made the hotel very unique, so it was important to capture these things that set us apart from our competitive set.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found this vendor through word of mouth. We wanted a team that had a breadth of experience in our specific industry.

We first had a meeting to discuss the concept. We brought similar businesses (from our comp set) to the table, and brainstormed the ways in which our business might differ, and how to best highlight that in photo/video. The execution was simple-- I was able to let them do their thing without being present. They sent back the finished products in 48 hrs (we had a very tight timeline) so we are incredibly thankful.

We shot with both Natalia & Emory.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are a completely new hotel with zero reviews. Every single person that came in said they were apprehensive about staying at a new hotel, but upon seeing the photos & video, they knew they had to take a chance. What Blue Slate gave us is the only piece of marketing we have had in order to sell our product, and it has been a smash hit.

Very involved collaboration process. Very willing to hop on the phone to discuss, and they have a lot of knowledge about different industries -- enough so that they were able to improve some of my ideas and make them work better.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I loved how they were able to work with minimal supervision. Their preparation and understanding of our project were so good that they were able to execute it without us present during the shoot.

Great work! Will be back.
