BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

Our company is called The National Association of Neighborhood Watch Associations Inc. We're based in Atlanta, Georgia. We have a program that helps people stay up to date with what's happening in and around their neighborhood. We're also developing an app that travels along with people. Wherever they may be, if there is a problem, they can report it, and everyone within a mile will get a notification. The website has been up for a couple of years. The app is not on the market yet.

We needed a company to build our website.

They developed our site, including the backend database management for it. The app development is contracted to a group in India, but Black Bear Design is the brains behind it.

Joel Black was recommended by a friend who had also used Black Bear Design.

The total cost for the website development was $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in 2013. The website was launched that same year.

There were issues to be resolved when it first came online, but overall their work was very good.

Black Bear Design Group has good people who work hard and get the job done. I'm not tech savvy, so I leave that work to them.

Is there anything Black Bear Design Group could have improved or done differently?

The vendors in India that Black Bear Design use are moving along slower than anticipated, but that's to be expected because of the nature of such collaborations.
