The scope of work was to develop a web and mobile app in next.js. Key deliverables included user authentication, ai and database integration, template and layout design, integration with third-party services, bug fixing, and much more.

The web and mobile app were produced to the level of detail and quality that was expected.

While the overall project took longer than anticipated, and the scope changed some during the process, they worked very hard, worked extra hours, to meet any hard deliverables we had. They were very responsive and communicated well. Tracking the project, milestones, and tasks were executed well by their team.

We were impressed with their communication, project management, high-quality work, and attention to detail.

It would have been helpful to have more assistance developing a timeline to launch product sooner, and help keep our team on task. But also recognizing those were not tasks that were asked of the vendor.

BitBytes has been involved in all the design and development activities. For web development, they’ve used React.js on the frontend, Node.js for the backend, and MongoDB for the database. Recently, we’ve taken over a lot of the design work, but BitBytes is in charge of any development work. It involves writing web applications, database logic, and backend code.

What is the team composition?

We’re in contact with the project manager and developers. We reach out to the project manager whenever we need updates on project timelines, Jira tickets, and tasks. When we need to go down to the code level, we reach out to the developers.

We’ve spent about $35,000–$40,000.

We started the engagement in January 2019, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality has been excellent; their level of understanding of programming languages is top-notch. We’re impressed with their communication and commitment. Once they say they’ll do something, they do it.

How did BitBytes perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication is good. We have regular meetings with them, and they're very responsive. Also, they meet deadlines 90% of the time.

We use Jira for project management, and the communication is a mix of everything. We use Slack, calls, text messages, and Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their response time, communication, and commitment are outstanding.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They have a small company approach. They’re very focused on development, so we don’t see versatility in their work. They should look at other technologies and ensure they have skilled people in their team.

Any advice for potential customers?

Be transparent and honest with them. Communication is the most important thing in any project.

Project was an app that was built to cross-check the invoices created by the suppliers against their agreed price and to email the suppliers any differences in these figures. It is a subscription based app (monthly).

Stripe was the payment processor that was used to process subscriptions. The app was using MERN stack. It was initially designed and the development was done in different milestones.The end result was the app as was originally desired

No direct measurable outcomes. Conversion of the design was done correctly and the quality of the code was high.

A project timeline was given at the start. This timeline matched with the actual development time. Most of the communication was through Skype and some through E-mail. Throughout the project we set meetings whenever it was needed. Sometimes only once a week, sometimes every day. Responses on skype pings where very quick and communication is very clear.

In our experience BitBytes delivers what they tell you. They are flexible and are willing to think along with the project. We haven't had any issues with BitBytes so far.

As said before, we haven't had any issues with BitBytes so far and don't have any elements which need improvements.

We have been able to deliver projects on time and under budget with the help of bitbytes. Initially we only wanted them to add one plugin on wordpress for us. they were so good and professional that we have kept working with them for nearly a year now

We have predominately used trello, asana and teams for communication. The bitbytes guys have always been very responsive to messages even with the time difference that effects us. They are also very good at communicating any local holidays etc that they have so we do not get impacted by that and can preplan

The most impressive things are their attention to details and how they flag issues. They are a very open team. they will tell us upfront if something we are doing is going to have perfomance impacts in the future. This has saved us countless hours of addtional work by getting things right the first time.

Not a huge amount they can improve. they often come in under budget so that is not an issue. the communication has been really good and they handle the time difference very well.

Usually, in MS Dynamics 365 CE, we require configuration and customisation of the solution. We design the solution with developers sitting in BitBytes. The development team works on User stories. Team lead own his user stories and provide leadership for the dev's user stories. Onsite manager make sure that the user stories are always available for the team to work on. The onsite manager who is ADot Dynamics staff do QA as well once the dev resource complete their user story.

Since we hire BitByte for the development services, we are freed our time to focus on business expansion. We found that BitByte understand the value coming out from this partnership, they are ready to go to any extend for providing the best quality for us

The Offsite manager (project manager) keeps in touch on regular intervals, we discuss the team growth and challenges in the sprints so we can improve. I am happy that we are incorporating the feedback and improving overall value of this partnership.

Bitbytes understands the value of the partnership and willing to invest to take the partnership to the next level.

There is improvement requires specially around running the projects in Agile and I would say they should be proactive rather than reactive. However, they understand due to the finance limitation, we could not hire the dedicated project manager.

I am the owner of Sierra Cybersecurity. We are a relatively small business, and I have a handful of independent contractors that work for me. We do security audits and development, both onsite and for websites and online presence.

BitBytes has provided web development services to help support our business, helping us to build security-focused web applications. We do a lot of work in the medical field, including our current project, which is creating a rehabilitation center cataloging database.

What was the scope of their involvement?

When we take on a project with a client, we meet with them and write up all of the requirements that we need for the project. I translate that outline to the developer level and deliver that to their team, whether it’s a single page application, whether it uses JavaScript or Ajax, or requires reducing page loads in whatever way possible.

They take on whatever portion of it they feel equipped to handle, which might be the entire project but might just be a database, or a Laravel framework since that is one of their particular specialties. Once we nail down the details, they get to work on it and deliver the finished version of whatever they took on.

I work closely with both Waqas (CEO) and Jazib (Co-Founder).

Originally, we found them on Upwork, and we decided to continue with them based on the success of our early work together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t keep direct metrics on the results of their work, but when you compare the amount of time it would take me or any of our local developers to do the work they deliver for us, it’s clear that we are saving incredibly on the efficiency of their services. The level of cost-effectiveness that they provide has significantly benefited our operations as an organization.

How did BitBytes perform from a project management standpoint?

Our teams are always in close contact throughout the work, usually checking in every 2–3 days about our progress towards various milestones. We use Trello to track those and make sure everyone is on the same page and that the code can be reviewed by my team as we go.

Beyond that, our teams maintain relatively consistent communication using email, Skype, and Zoom. They are incredibly responsive to our messages given the time difference between the teams, demonstrating a really impressive willingness to work on our terms.

What did you find most impressive about them?

As a team, they are incredibly open and transparent about their process and capabilities. They stick to what they say they will deliver, and they’re always able to deliver it within schedule and budget, regardless of the real hours they have to put in which we really appreciate.

No, I don’t really think there are any elements of their work that need to be improved.

Spend a little extra time on the frontend of the project laying out exactly what you want. It always pays to plan out the flow and details of the application of the development as far in advance as you can.
