Bionic Egg designed a website from scratch for us. After we finalized the design, their team developed the site. After the site was finished, Bionic Egg stayed on to complete several more projects for us.

I did some research on companies and interviewed a number of them. We then sent Bionic Egg an inquiry via their website, and their team responded with an intake form for us to complete. After that, we had a short introduction call. In the end, we hired Bionic Egg because we aligned on vision, pricing, and capabilities. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The project with Bionic Egg was from June–December 2021, but we are still partnering with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Bionic Egg successfully delivered a final product that was exactly what we wanted. We’re not a B2C provider, so our metrics are more complicated and I can’t provide them quite yet. However, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback from clients and peers in our industry. 

How did Bionic Egg perform from a project management standpoint?

Bionic Egg was very responsive and their project management was excellent. Generally, we communicated through phone calls, email, Zoom meetings, and Google Meet. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with Bionic Egg’s attention to detail and responsiveness.

I have nothing for ​​Bionic Egg to improve; they were excellent. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d highly recommend Bionic Egg to any company working on a similar project. However, it’s important for clients to provide clear design direction and be respectful of their processes.

I work as a director, choreographer, and creator for a theatrical production office. We produce theatre events, musicals, and more.

What challenge were you trying to address with Bionic Egg?

We were looking to bring one of our shows into New York, so we needed a website that would serve as a promotion tool. Our goal was to get people to buy tickets and give them access to all the necessary information and important updates about the show.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bionic Egg designed the website for a show that we originally performed in Japan. In our first meeting, we shared with them some clips, footage, and photos to give them a better idea of what our show was about. They quickly understood it and presented several ideas and concepts, including a website mockup using their own server, in the following meetings. After the site was set up, we just requested a few minor tweaks and changes, which they implemented quickly as well.

If the pandemic didn’t shut everything down, they would have been our number one choice to go to in setting up our other websites.

I worked primarily with Mark (Founder & Designer). 

How did you come to work with Bionic Egg?

They were recommended to us by someone we really trusted. We were impressed with Mark during our first meeting — he understood and grasped the concept quickly, so we hired him right on the spot.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Bionic Egg on this project from December 2015–July 2016.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Their work was really good — they delivered the website faster than we expected and it looked great. As a result, we received a huge amount of positive feedback from our fans, who all said that they really loved the site and how easy it was to navigate.

How did Bionic Egg perform from a project management standpoint?

They were excellent. As mentioned earlier, our site was already up and running even before we agreed on a cutoff date. When communicating, we never had to wait long for them to respond to our emails and phone calls and especially when we requested to have a meeting. Overall, we felt that we were well taken care of since the beginning of the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were really impressed with Mark’s passion for work and speed in delivery. What’s more, his creativity took our project to the next level in terms of quality. He was also smart, kind, and thoughtful — he never made us feel like we weren’t his top priority.

Are there any areas they could improve on?

I can’t think of a single thing that they need to improve on. The entire experience was positive.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to do your work, so the designer can do their work. We were always on the same page with Mark since day one.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a psychotherapist, and have been in solo private practice about a year. There are very many therapists in NYC, but there is also very high demand.

For what projects/services did your company hire Bionic Egg, and what were your goals?

I decided to time the expanding of my business to match the economy coming out of covid, so I wanted a new, significantly improved website, and to build out lead generation. More specifically I hired them to design a new website, do SEO research/optimization, and help me get going with Google Ads.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I did a couple of hours worth of reading to identify promising New York based companies and other small businesses in the US that might be good matches. I narrowed it down to 3, and ultimately chose Bionic Egg on a mix of pricing, the quirky name, and that they had created the site for United Cerebral Palsy, which is a charity dear to my heart.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had a kick off call in late August to follow up with the online 'DNA' form they have people fill out. They then created a scope of business document setting forth clear timelines and fees. They also laid out the changes they wanted in things like web domain, host, etc.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I'm not certain about this but it seems like they are largely a 2 person operation for my project. Almost all direct contact has been with Mark, but there has been some interface with a second person.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

It is too early to discuss any measurables as we are just starting the implementation of the SEO findings, and just starting the Google Ads.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

I would describe the project management style as friendly first and foremost. Almost all comms go through email, though they have offered to jump on a call as needed. Timeliness has been good but not perfect.

A few miscommunications led to a late start, and there is the occasional promise of something being ready by a certain day, only for it to be delayed a bit. But aside from the first miscommunication, which set us over a week back, timeliness really hasn't been a problem.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are very fast to reply to questions and take in comments/suggestions. They appear very eager to get things right in the end. And their design eye is great, I really love the new website.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We have had some miscommunications, largely due to me being a very detail oriented person who asks a lot of questions when things aren't made explicit. I don't have a lot of technical expertise, so I wanted to be walked through a lot of things that perhaps previous clients took for granted. This was frustrating but ultimately was not a real roadblock.

Mark Johnson from Bionic Egg and I had an exploratory call to determine the type of website I was looking for. Mark sent me a proposal clearly broken down by each milestone and offering to charge me only when the milestone would be accomplished. We went over the proposal in detail, started the work, and throughout the project Mark did exactly what we had discussed. He's also incredibly communicative and customer service oriented.

My point of contact was Mark, rest of the team worked behind the scenes.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The first phase of the website launched a couple of days ago and I've gotten feedback from 10+ individuals, all extremely impressed with it.

We're on developing the website in two phases. I only had a few weeks before attending important conferences for which I needed a presentable online footprint. I contacted Mark and we got started right away on the first phase (condensed version of the full site), and Bionic Egg completed the site right on time. The second phase (a more expanded site) is due to launch in another few weeks. The key to note is that Mark is very responsive and communicative. Any changes needed to be made got worked on immediately.

As a journalist I’ve seen sites that are cluttered, some without enough information, and ones that are not easily navigable. I wanted to work with Bionic Egg to have a clean site that would present a lot of information concisely.

They made it so that my Squarespace site presented biographic information, samples of my work, and contact features.

I was Googling around, frankly. What impressed me was that he was willing to meet pretty quickly. What made me want to work with him was that there was a real commitment to customize. It wasn’t a cookie-cutter mold, which is important when you’re talking about something as personal as your own site.

What is the status of this engagement?

For this most recent project, I worked with Bionic Egg in 2017 for 3–4 weeks. It was very quick.

Mark is very creative and easy to work with. He’ll hear what you’re saying, but he’s also good about making tasteful suggestions. A lot of people responded that they loved the site. I’ve got nothing but positive feedback. Several folks have reached out to ask who’s done my site. People love the site’s look, feel, and cleanliness. 

How did Bionic Egg perform from a project management standpoint?

Mark is excellent at project management. It’s just so easy. I was never expecting an immediate response, but whenever I pinged him something that was on my mind, he got it done. I remember distinctly that they did something for me on a Sunday morning, which was impressive. They never made me feel like I got lost in the shuffle. There was a mutual desire to get the site done. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

He’s got a great sense of design. I find that a lot of people are stronger in the design or coding side of things. Mark is head and shoulders above everyone that I’ve talked to about being good at both. On top of everything else, he’s a good human being. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I love to see people who are nice human beings that are good at what they do. It’s nice to be able to sing Mark’s praises. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Go in with a sense of what you like. Show them a link to a site that you like. Even something as small as a color scheme or a font is a great place to start. That helps them take the ball and run with it. 

Don’t micromanage someone like Mark too much. Otherwise, you might miss out on an opportunity to make something really good.

I’m the owner of a toothpaste company, and we develop dental products specifically for kids, and we’re launching an all-natural kids toothpaste line. Our company is still working on product development with a manufacturer to get the flavors right so that kids will love what we’re going to offer.

What challenge were you trying to address with Bionic Egg?

We want to be a market leader and differentiate ourselves from our competitors. That's the reason why we hired Bionic Egg.

We’re developing a natural toothpaste that’s fluoride-free. Typically, fluoride-free kinds of toothpaste are all-natural and aren’t effective because they don’t have an active ingredient. Since fluoride is toxic, we’re using nano-hydroxyapatite as the active ingredient— it’s a natural product and a natural substance in people’s bones and teeth.

Nano-hydroxyapatite makes up about 70% of a person’s teeth, and it’s a relatively new thing to the market. Thus, the main challenge we’re facing right now is how to position ourselves as the best choice in the market.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bionic Egg is working on our branding. They already completed our company name and names for the flavors of the toothpaste line. We underwent a rigorous trademark search process since we needed to find names that were not taken already. Then, once we secured the names we needed, the team helped us trademark them. 

After that, the team proceeded to create the graphic design, logo design, toothpaste tube design, and more. Then, the website and the e-commerce platform that they’re developing will be completed in two weeks. In the future, Bionic Egg will be helping us craft our social media marketing strategy.

What is the team composition?

I’ve primarily been working with Mark (Owner), and he has a small team of graphic designers and programmers that puts his ideas into action. 

How did you come to work with Bionic Egg?

I searched for top branding companies on Google and came across The Manifest, a company that featured top companies from different industries. They posted an article about the top 240 branding companies in the US. It was nice because I was able to go through that list and see the number of employees. Most importantly, the article also featured the average cost for a branding package. Basically, I was able to see my search criteria when I checked the article.

Since I prefer working with small companies, the firms that had less than 10 employees caught my attention. I also didn’t want to go to a huge company because a lot of them charge exorbitant prices so I needed something that would fit within my budget. In the end, I came up with a list of the top 20 companies out of the 240 listed on the site. 

I looked at all of the reviews of each company, and I examined their work. When I saw Bionic Egg, their reviews were amazing. Everybody that worked with them liked their partnership. 

What caught my attention was the positive things they had to say about Mark. Furthermore, out of the three companies I reached out to, Mark got right back to me quickly. I saw that he was very professional and easy to work with, and the rest was history.

The total cost will probably be under $25,000 for everything.

We started working together in November 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We base Bionic Egg’s success on how engaging and professional-looking our marketing collaterals are. That includes how our website, logo, and designs look. Since this is a kids’ toothpaste line, it’s got to be appealing to them as well as to their parents who will buy the product. In that aspect, everything looks good. 

The functionality of our website, how our pages flow, and how users will navigate through the online ordering system have been operating pretty seamlessly. Bionic Egg has also done an amazing job in adapting our branding messages.

Messaging can be tricky because it can be too wordy or things can get lost in the detail, but the team has done a great job of narrowing down what our company is and what differentiates us from other companies. Overall, I’ll give them a 110% rating, and if we’re doing a 5-star rating, I’ll rate them higher if I could. 

How did Bionic Egg perform from a project management standpoint?

Mark put a schedule together with all the key milestones we need to achieve. We also have meetings, and it’s been beneficial that they’re located in the East Cost. That way, it’s very easy for me to plan even though I have a busy schedule. Furthermore, as soon as we schedule a meeting, Mark immediately accepts our Google invite. Overall, we have a very organized and structured process. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We've been impressed that we have a good working relationship with the team and we're always excited to communicate concerns about the projects.

Furthermore, Mark is great to work with, and he’s passionate about what he does. He’s also timely, and he always exceeds our expectations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Honestly, I can’t even think of one thing that they need to improve. I’m super happy and things are moving ahead of schedule.

When you contact Bionic Egg, everything’s already structured and organized. You just need to provide the information they need, and everything will be seamless. Furthermore, look at their work and see if it fits your style.

You can also look at other companies and interview everyone. After that, you can narrow down your list and see who’s a good fit for your company.

I’m the founder, creator, and writer of a new show. It’s basically a storytelling event for adults, and it has erotic stories told in poetic language. It also has a theatrical aspect to it. My goal is to introduce people to different kinds of fetishes through these stories. It’s completely new, and it hasn’t been done before in the way that I decided to do it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

At first, Bionic Egg sent me a form with a bunch of questions to help us figure out our brand voice, who our clients were, and what colors represented our brand the best. I used to be a graphic designer, so I had a rough idea of what we wanted to do. My spouse and I shot the main image that we used, but everything else was done by Bionic Egg. 

Mark (Owner) designed the logo and typeface for the show, as well as Photoshopped some images for us. He started by designing a poster since we could do everything else we needed based on its design elements. Then, he sent us three options for the logo, and we picked what we thought was the best one. From there, we went on choosing the fonts and colors that we’d use.

We work directly with Mark. Along with my husband, the three of us worked on this project. 

How did you come to work with Bionic Egg?

My husband knows Mark, and that’s how we found him. He said Mark was a very talented graphic designer, so we decided we should ask if he had the time to help us out.

We started working together in November 2020, and the partnership is ongoing. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, everything is on hold at the moment.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I find it easy to talk with Mark, and bouncing ideas off of him has been very fluid. He listens well to our ideas, and we’re able to arrive at a mutual agreement about what works and what doesn’t work. We’re excited to show the materials to the whole world. Only a few people have seen them, but we’ve been getting good feedback. 

It’s nice that they try to gather a lot of information in the beginning because it’s helpful not only for them but also for us as a new company. When we’re so close to a product or a brand, it’s hard to describe what it actually is. However, the questions they initially asked us were truly helpful for us to get a clearer image of our product. 

I have a graphic design background and I’ve been working in an advertising office. I know how things work, and I have high expectations, so I’m truly happy to work with Bionic Egg. They’re able to raise us to another level in terms of how people see us as professional producers. 

How did Bionic Egg perform from a project management standpoint?

Most of the time, we use emails. Every now and then, one of us wants to dig even deeper and be more specific about some details, so we also sometimes have phone calls. 

Mark delivers everything in a timely manner, and I’ve never had to ask him if he has finished a task. He’s prompt in keeping up with the schedule and making changes. There’s always some back and forth when we’re trying to figure out what to do, but it’s been very pleasant working with him. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Mark is great at figuring out what it is that we’re looking for. At first, we didn’t have a clear idea of what the whole show was because it was something new. After giving rough guidelines, he gave us good options very quickly. He always understands what we’re thinking. That adds a lot of value for us because we’re saving time, which is very valuable nowadays.

No, there aren’t any. I feel good about the whole process, and it’s been very seamless.

Customers should know that Mark is really easygoing, which for me is very important. As artists, we’re sometimes all over the place, but he’s been able to handle that and work on the creative process really well.

What challenge were you trying to address with Bionic Egg?

I needed to develop a website for both my pharmacies.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bionic Egg developed both websites for us. They just copied the websites for my other two stores. Mark (Founder and Designer) handled everything.

He designed the websites and showed me how to navigate through them. He chose the right pictures to put on the website, showed me step by step how to do certain things, and showed me everything along the way to see if it was correct or not. He fixes everything on the spot as well. 

We receive prescriptions from the doctor and the patient provides their information to us through the website. They have a form to fill out, but we don’t put anything that goes against HIPAA regulations and there isn’t any private information given. They send me the date of birth, address, and phone number, and then we contact them to get the rest of their information. All that information then comes through an email to us.

I have only worked with Mark.

How did you come to work with Bionic Egg?

Our manager knows Mark and told me that Bionic Egg is the best web development company. They did the websites for my two stores in Manhattan. When I decided to do my other two stores in Brooklyn, I went back to them because I already knew they did a good job.

For those two stores, we invested $2,400.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in March 2018, and the partnership is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

These are brand new websites and we had just started working on these in mid-November. I haven’t had a chance to go to doctors and customers to advertise them yet. I have been happy with the services that Bionic Egg has provided.

How did Bionic Egg perform from a project management standpoint?

They were working on the websites sometimes very early in the morning. Mark is on top of everything. When I tell him there is something that needs to be fixed, he does it right away and at any time. We usually communicate through text, email, and sometimes phone calls.

He is the one that got me the website from Godaddy.com and he really did everything for me. Pharmorerx.com was not available and we had to go into bidding to get it, and Mark went there and bid on it for me and won.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I think Mark is really an excellent guy.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I think he did the best he could. Some delays were caused by me and weren't on their end.

I would give them a really high recommendation. For any questions I have, they give me an answer.

It took a little longer than expected because I had a baby and was unresponsive to Mark, but the project lasted from about September–October 2020.

The website has been very successful. People can go on the website and read the synopsis, view characters, so I would say it’s really great.

How did Bionic Egg perform from a project management standpoint?

Mark was so responsive if I had a question, he responded immediately and was great at problem-solving. He even kept me on track when I was really busy to make sure the project was going accordingly. He is the best communicator I’ve ever worked with and that says a lot.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Mark understands his vision and he executes it seamlessly, which really takes the burden off my hands. He is very positive and down to the point. I’m not tech-savvy, but he needed information from me to create the website, so he went out of his way to hold my hand and give me step by step instructions on how to set up some of the links that he needed. Even his suggestions that he provided enhanced the website and he was very creative.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, he’s perfect.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust the process and trust in Mark because he really understands what his clients want and needs without them even realizing it.
