We engaged Bang Creative to support the relaunch and rebranding of our website. Their work included discovery and project strategy, developing a clean, modern design based on an available theme, and optimizing the site for both mobile and desktop use. They completed a full professional set-up, implemented an easy-to-use, code-free content management system, and integrated a contact form. Their services also included thorough debugging, beta testing, and a successful website launch. In addition, they provided assistance with email set-up as part of the project.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was a clear success for us. We are very happy with our new website, which presents our brand in a much more modern, polished, and accessible way. The site is easy to manage and update without technical expertise, and the improved design and functionality have made a noticeable difference in how we present ourselves to clients and prospects.

What impressed us most about Bang Creative was their clear vision and flawless execution. They truly understood what we were trying to achieve and got it right the first time — there were no endless revisions or misunderstandings. Their ability to translate our goals into a modern, professional website exceeded our expectations. It was also very rewarding to see their work recognized externally with Gold and Silver Awards at the 2024 Summit Creative Awards, which speaks to the high level of creativity and quality they brought to the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something BANG! creative could have done differently?

There are no areas for improvement that come to mind. Bang Creative stayed in regular contact with us throughout the project and kept everything moving forward, even when we were sometimes slow to provide information on our end. Their proactive communication and gentle reminders helped keep the project on track and made the process easy for us.

We asked BANG! creative to redesign and redevelop the online presence of Norris Electrical to better reflect our growth, expertise, and the specialized nature of their services in today’s competitive landscape.

The scope of the project included both creative and strategic components, aimed at modernizing  and positioning the Norris Electrical brand as a trusted, professional provider of residential, commercial, and film/TV location electrical services.

Objectives:

Refresh the old Norris Electrical website to improve user experience, performance, and visual identity and promote the new site to help generate new contacts and leads.

• Strengthen the company’s positioning to clearly articulate their niche offerings.
• Ensure mobile responsiveness and accessibility compliance.
• Improve site architecture for better navigation and lead generation.
• Carry forward and enhance the legacy of the award-winning brand BANG! creative developed for us.
• We had a Discovery session with BANG! creative to realighn our business goals, audiences, and service focus.
• They did a competitive analysis and audit of the previous site.
• They broke out teh site into sections and developed a sitemap and content strategy to streamline user flow and highlight high-value services (commercial, residential, film & TV).

• Accessibility is important to us as we also promote we provide ASL service for people who are hard of hearing and the Deaf community. We wanted our site to reflect this so that it met AODA  WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
• BANG! creative developed a site that had clear calls to action for lead generation and service inquiries.

• BANG! creative recreated and refined the complete corporate identity of the award-winning Norris Electrical logo (originally designed by BANG! creative. They designed new digital brand assets to maintain consistency across web and social platforms.

The result is a polished, user-friendly, and future-ready website that reflects Norris Electrical’s professional growth and broad range of capabilities. The new site positions us more competitively online, repositions us against our competitors and most importantly improves our credibility with our commercial and industry clients, and professionally communicates our value to both new and returning customers.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our old site had become outdated and was in need of a refresh. David and his team at BANG! creative walked us through some options. They designed a new site that now matches the brand they created for us and in the time it has been up we have seen an increase in site traffic. We have also noted a more targeted client inquiry. Before our forms would be filled out by all sorts of inquiries from job applicants, people just asking but no engagement and spam. Now it seems that our forms are filled out by more qualified contacts. It has allowed us to connect with the right people. We can share specific pages of the site to specific clients. They have also helped us strategies for a more targeted advertising and promotion to the key areas and locations we want to target.

BANG! creative was very good on creating ideas and concepts. They would think of things we would not have. They had our best interest in mind for what we wanted to do and what they knew we needed done. They were very responsive to our requests when we had them. They also helped out when there were a few high priority issues and we will be grateful for David's understanding of our needs.

David asked for trust and commitment. I found that spoke to me at another level. Other people want to push the new thing or sell you a new website. David and Athena would discuss what we wanted and thought we wanted then showed us what we really needed. BANG! creative does have your companies best interest in mind. They don't do things because, they asked why we wanted to do them. They would explain the importance and help us prioritise our needs and wants. I trust them and am committed to BANG! creatives knowledge and ability to help me succeed.

Are there any areas for improvement or something BANG! creative could have done differently?

Sometimes during the project they’ll go quiet while they consider the best solution. We understand and we appreciate the thoughtfulness, however it can sometimes create a bit of stress on our end as we wait for a reply. That said, when they do respond, it’s clear they've taken the time to think the issue through and have come up with a solution if not multiple solutions — and the result is usually bang-on.

Bang Creative was hired to fix our outdated and unsecured website. Bang Creative took over maintaining and hosting our old website while developing the new website on a new secure web platform. Bang Creative gave our website a fresh new look, and a better user interface creating a much improved branding image on our website to represent our insurance brokerage.

Bang Creative was a pleasure to work with. David listened to our needs and developed our new website with the functionality that we were looking for and designed the website to evolve as our insurance brokerage continues to grow. He helped us understand how we could effectively brand our insurance brokerage and how to utilize the website for future growth with digital marketing plans to rise above the competition in the insurance industry.

Our project was delayed due to company restructuring within our brokerage. When we were ready to refocus on the website Bang Creative was there and the website progressed promptly. Whenever we needed anything from Bang Creative, they always responded very quickly and David always takes the time to explain everything thoroughly so you understand what needs to be done and why.

Bang Creative designed and developed the overall look and feel for our 25th Annual fundraising gala - The Butterfly Ball: On the Silver Screen. This is our largest fundraising event of the year, so very important for us. Elements included: 

• Logo Concepts and selection 
• Promotional advertisement (including Facebook and print) 
• Evening Signage
•  Event Program 
• Multi-media presentation template for use on-site 
• Additional elements to enhance the event include custom wine labels, roundels to add a touch of the creative to items on display; on theme table numbers

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The design laid the foundation for the overall look and feel of the event. Guest feedback was that it was one of the best galas yet and that the theme was wonderful and well presented.

The nature of fundraising events, with sponsors and donors involved, is that final content and approvals can be very last minute. Bang worked with us to ensure that we met our deliverables and adjusted with us as things changed.

BANG! creative thought about the overall goals of the entire event, not just their role. They provided input into other areas that enhanced the overal event experience.

Are there any areas for improvement or something BANG! creative could have done differently?

Perhaps sharing more of the process in terms of how long project elements will take to complete so we can work backwards.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

Skön Laser Clinic is a family business that focuses on laser services such as anti-aging treatment, hair removal, electrolysis, skin tightening, and more. In my role, I work as the business manager, taking care of all the day-to-day operations.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with BANG! creative?

After 36 years, we were at a turning point with the business. My mother was interested in retiring, and I wanted to move us away from our old name ECC Cosmetic & Laser Centre. I was looking to refresh our brand to create a different feel — something that was more updated, modern, and my own.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

BANG! creative worked with me to execute an all-encompassing branding package. When I approached them, I didn’t really have anything in mind beyond wanting the new identity to be young and fresh. 

We basically started from scratch. Their team did all of the R&D behind the scenes before presenting me with a basic set of brand guidelines. From there, they applied our brand to several assets, including a new name, logo, website, and stationery. The team even designed the graphics we use in our reception area.

This was fantastic for me because we were trying to move locations at the same time. To inform our existing clients about the new space, they coordinated the email blast and created discount cards to hand to patients. It made for a seamless transition. 

Currently, they continue to compile and monitor our email blasts in addition to managing our social channels.

What is the team composition? 

We worked with about four people at any given time. David and Athena (Co-Founders) were my two primary contacts, and then the remaining two would switch out depending on what we were working on. We had a social media specialist, a person who did the brand colors and graphics for our new space, and some others.

How did you come to work with BANG! creative?

I was looking for a full-service marketing company when I found BANG! creative. Being from a small town, I recognized some of the companies they’d worked with in their portfolio and followed up with those clients. All of them seemed happy with BANG! creative’s services. I also liked that each business had its own needs, which meant that I could customize my service package.

How much have you invested with them?

I opted for their small business package, which cost about $10,000 CAD (approximately $7,500) for those initial deliverables. We now pay a monthly retainer fee.

What is the status of this engagement?

The bulk of the work was done in August 2018 before we moved to our new location in September. Since then, we still collaborate on an ongoing basis.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In the first year, everyone thought that we were franchised because our materials were so professional. The colors were consistent, and the name created a lot of buzz because no one knew what it meant yet.

Besides our new branding, it was a big deal for us to finally start tracking metrics. Now, with our email campaigns, I can see how many people clicked on our links and track the traffic to our website. 

It’s the same with our social/advertising. I have more insights into how people are engaging with us. On Instagram, we’ve gone jumped from no followers to about 800, and our Google Ads are performing well. I’d say that 90% of our business comes from our website, social, and Google Ads campaigns.

How did BANG! creative perform from a project management standpoint?

BANG! creative stays in constant contact and has quick turnarounds. Before, when someone would ask me if I wanted to advertise with them, I’d have to scramble because I wouldn’t have anything ready. That’s not the case anymore. I have all of my assets at my fingertips, and, if I don’t, BANG! creative can jump right in and take it over for me.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate their overall commitment to our success as a small business. Not only do I see them as an extension of my own team, but they also make everything easier on a day-to-day basis. The team is knowledgeable, skilled, and helpful, which takes most of that stress off of me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing I can think of is that they’d never worked with a company like ours before, so it took some time for them to learn all of our terminologies. That wasn’t a deterrent to success, though, and they weren’t afraid to ask questions.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust their expertise because they know what works. In our initial project, I gave them so little information, but they still managed to come back with research into different angles and showed that they knew what I was looking for. I don’t even think twice about going with them, now.
