Owner, Skön Laser Clinic
BANG! creative modernized a laser clinic’s brand, starting with the name and logo before doing the site and even the clinic space. Currently, they manage social channels, Google Ads, and email campaigns.
External stakeholders were so impressed with the new brand that they thought it had become a franchise. The materials were consistent across the board, and the overall look was more professional. The most crucial change was implementing trackable metrics so that the clinic could track their success.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
Skön Laser Clinic is a family business that focuses on laser services such as anti-aging treatment, hair removal, electrolysis, skin tightening, and more. In my role, I work as the business manager, taking care of all the day-to-day operations.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with BANG! creative?
After 36 years, we were at a turning point with the business. My mother was interested in retiring, and I wanted to move us away from our old name ECC Cosmetic & Laser Centre. I was looking to refresh our brand to create a different feel — something that was more updated, modern, and my own.
What was the scope of their involvement?
BANG! creative worked with me to execute an all-encompassing branding package. When I approached them, I didn’t really have anything in mind beyond wanting the new identity to be young and fresh.
We basically started from scratch. Their team did all of the R&D behind the scenes before presenting me with a basic set of brand guidelines. From there, they applied our brand to several assets, including a new name, logo, website, and stationery. The team even designed the graphics we use in our reception area.
This was fantastic for me because we were trying to move locations at the same time. To inform our existing clients about the new space, they coordinated the email blast and created discount cards to hand to patients. It made for a seamless transition.
Currently, they continue to compile and monitor our email blasts in addition to managing our social channels.
What is the team composition?
We worked with about four people at any given time. David and Athena (Co-Founders) were my two primary contacts, and then the remaining two would switch out depending on what we were working on. We had a social media specialist, a person who did the brand colors and graphics for our new space, and some others.
How did you come to work with BANG! creative?
I was looking for a full-service marketing company when I found BANG! creative. Being from a small town, I recognized some of the companies they’d worked with in their portfolio and followed up with those clients. All of them seemed happy with BANG! creative’s services. I also liked that each business had its own needs, which meant that I could customize my service package.
How much have you invested with them?
I opted for their small business package, which cost about $10,000 CAD (approximately $7,500) for those initial deliverables. We now pay a monthly retainer fee.
What is the status of this engagement?
The bulk of the work was done in August 2018 before we moved to our new location in September. Since then, we still collaborate on an ongoing basis.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
In the first year, everyone thought that we were franchised because our materials were so professional. The colors were consistent, and the name created a lot of buzz because no one knew what it meant yet.
Besides our new branding, it was a big deal for us to finally start tracking metrics. Now, with our email campaigns, I can see how many people clicked on our links and track the traffic to our website.
It’s the same with our social/advertising. I have more insights into how people are engaging with us. On Instagram, we’ve gone jumped from no followers to about 800, and our Google Ads are performing well. I’d say that 90% of our business comes from our website, social, and Google Ads campaigns.
How did BANG! creative perform from a project management standpoint?
BANG! creative stays in constant contact and has quick turnarounds. Before, when someone would ask me if I wanted to advertise with them, I’d have to scramble because I wouldn’t have anything ready. That’s not the case anymore. I have all of my assets at my fingertips, and, if I don’t, BANG! creative can jump right in and take it over for me.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I appreciate their overall commitment to our success as a small business. Not only do I see them as an extension of my own team, but they also make everything easier on a day-to-day basis. The team is knowledgeable, skilled, and helpful, which takes most of that stress off of me.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The only thing I can think of is that they’d never worked with a company like ours before, so it took some time for them to learn all of our terminologies. That wasn’t a deterrent to success, though, and they weren’t afraid to ask questions.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Trust their expertise because they know what works. In our initial project, I gave them so little information, but they still managed to come back with research into different angles and showed that they knew what I was looking for. I don’t even think twice about going with them, now.
