I’m an owner and partner at a real estate developer that builds vertical multi-family apartment complexes. I oversee sales and customer service.

What challenge were you trying to address with Axon Solutions?

Axon developed the backend of several web pages, along with Android and iOS applications for our condominiums. They’ve also built some other web app services for us.

They’ve used Swift, Linux, and other common market technologies.

What is the team composition?

It varies depending on the service that we are hiring them for. If we are developing a website, they assign us to a certain group with a specific cost. If we are developing an app, they move us to another team. However, one of the partners and owners is always in touch with us. The amount of developers or staff assigned to each project varies, but between 3-7 people usually support us.

How did you come to work with Axon Solutions?

I’ve known the owner since he started this company. They offer a good personalized service, they're capable of delivering excellent products, and their quality is top-notch.

I’m a demanding client who knows about this space. Even when I ask for a project that they haven’t encountered before, they figure out how to deliver good results.

How much have you invested in them?

It’s been a long-term project. Although I’m not involved in payment, I know we have spent a generous amount on multiple web pages and apps.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve worked with them for more than 10-12 years.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their work markets our real estate products, and their development helps us reach people in different parts of the world. Through their use of technology, they present our offers in a variety of methods.

How did Axon Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Their communication throughout the projects has been constant, which is something I really like about them. When I can call them, they respond to my needs. They always offer good feedback and excellent customer service.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their customer service is great. Since technologies are constantly changing, they open themselves up to new challenges and update their skills constantly to satisfy their clients. They do whatever is needed to develop what is asked of them. Their knowledge is superb.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There are always areas for improvement, but I've had a good experience with them, so I can't think of anything specific. Maybe they could dive into more specialized technologies. I haven’t had a bad experience with them, and they’ve never failed to deliver.

I’m a web technology coordinator in the digital media department of MegaMedia Group.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Axon Solutions?

A large local university asked us to develop a customized, online school control system. We usually partner with others to develop a project this size. Since we had worked with Axon previously for two years, we hired them again for this one.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The client wanted a tool that could transfer processes from paper onto the school control system. The requirements analysis took months. Axon’s people gathered the information, created flow charts, and addressed other client needs.

Once we had the information ready, we sent it to the client and got it authorized. Then we began the extended development, beta testing, and implementation process, during which Axon served as our technological partner. They transferred spreadsheets and other documents into the new system’s format and trained the client during an extensive, months-long process. We worked on weekends and holidays, and traveled to meet with the client in another city.

They developed this system using PHP, SQL, Javascript, and Ajax. We’ve proposed the mobile application to the client, but focused on web development for this first stage.

There were 4-5 developers, one of which was a full-time project leader. 

How did you come to work with Axon Solutions?

One of Axon's employees had previously worked with our company, and we had collaborated with them for more than 10 years. They’ve created websites and mobile apps.

How much have you invested in them?

Around $45,000

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in mid-2016 and are continuing to develop a mobile application with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their quality of development is good, but their service is even better. Axon is always available and can turn projects around quickly. The quality of expedited projects is probably lower, but it’s still good.

How did Axon Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

They met deadlines. We communicated using Whatsapp and Hangouts. Although we didn’t have a project management software, we used Excel to track our internal use.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Working with Axon is like working with friends. They are a very personable company that works closely with us each time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve their quality control, revisions, and beta tests. Sometimes we find bugs, so they could do a better job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have good follow-up, quality control, and testing.

I work at The Yucatan Times, an English-language news site in the state of Yucatan, Mexico. We have more than 10,000 daily visitors, 50% of which are from outside of Mexico. I’m the content manager and I lead a team of editors, translators, designers, and programmers.

What challenge were you trying to address with Axon Solutions?

They worked on our programming. Our platform is on WordPress and we needed to add special features to our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created special features for us as we needed them. For example, to show certain ads only on certain sections. The WordPress template we were using couldn’t support that by itself, so they modified the coding. Another example is a pop-up banner that appears only in certain sections and is easy to close.

We are also developing an app with Axon but that is still in the beta phase. Additionally, they helped us with a newsletter we have, and helped us to create a contact form so people can sign up easily. Finally, they are also helping us to update our WordPress template to make it responsive and so it can be accessed without any problem on any kind of device.

What is the team composition?

I have contact with two persons, one is the senior programmer and the other is an executive. I usually get in touch with the executive who is the one who evaluates my requirements and when he is not able to comply with them he sends me to the programmer to whom I explain with detail what I need so he can execute it.

How did you come to work with Axon?

I used to work at another newspaper in the area and Axon worked with them. I met the owner of Axon then, so when we started with this new project, I contacted him directly.

How much have you invested in them?

About $10,000–$20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in 2012, around August, and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We use a tool to measure traffic, called Quantcast, which is a website that works as a web auditor. We use it as a sales tool for advertising to show our advertisers how much traffic we have and some data about our readers like their level of study, income level, etc.

Through their developments, they helped us to get the kind of traffic we were looking for.

How did Ingenia perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve tried working with other companies in Mexico and Axon are the most professional, meeting all the deadlines we established. It’s quite rare to find that here, but they always respond on time. We communicated directly with them through email, phone, and meetings in our offices.

What did you find most impressive about them?

When you’re not a programmer, it is sometimes hard to explain your requirements for a website and on that side, they have been very flexible and open to hear and to be able to comply with exactly what we were looking for on an effective way. They communicate really well and always worked hard to help us get what we needed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Use of project management tool would be an improvement for them.
