Phase one: deliver a bespoke build mobile application to enable ARVRA to enter the corporate marketplace as well as have a consumer option in global app stores. The requirements were for a fullstack engineering team to be dedicated to the project working closely to product roadmap and design the platform. ARVRA required varied expertise from Appy Monkey therefore required an extensive delivery team, business analyst, proejct manager, tehcnical lead, UX/UI designer and a QA engineer.

There were to be mulitple releases, one an enhancement on version 1.0 which would utilise data and learnings to deliver a refined product in version 2.0. There was also to be a whitelabelled product for one of our key clients.

Further to this Appy Monkey were to provide ongoing maintenance and support.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The key measurable was having a solution in global app stores which subscribers could download. There were also smaller measures, particularly with version 2.0. These were refinements to v1.0. The measurables here were to interpeet usgae data to improve user experience. Working with the Appy Monkey team we identified user friction points and aim to reduce them therefore seeing higher retention and engagement scores.

Regular weekly project calls were made which helped uderstand the development process and discuss and potential challenges that were being discovered. Any challenges Appy Monkey found they also presented solutions which we found invaluable.

The project and the built in milestones were delivered on time. The Appy Monkey team were and still are key partners for ARVRA.

Their 'can do' attitude. We have thrown a high number of curve balls at Appy Monkey and they have always reacted positively and dealt with the situation at hand. We found them to be a thought leader and a solid trusted partner.

I wouldn't say so. Having worked with numerous developers in the past, Appy Monkey have provided a smooth service so far. We have been partnered for approx 18mths.

Firstly we needed an app that is simple and easy to use for tradesmen, we were amazed with the initial design and the project quickly evolved into a fantastic app that was simple for us to use and intuitive for tradesmen with multiple features and viewing options.

We worked closly with Mike, Ajay, Karen and Stuart who worked in various positions all of which were extremely helpful.

We have currently seen over 600 downloads without really promoting the app, the feedback from users has been fantastic leading to various 5 star ratings from app users.

Communication was always great via whats app and skype, we were kept in the loop on a weekly basis and spent many hours going over the details to ensure the project was delivered on time and to budget.

Mike Wilde is by far the guy that stood out to us. Their planning, creative mind, and attention to detail have been proven invaluable when launching our app.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None that I can think of, the whole team was outstanding from start to finish.

The project involved brainstorming initial ideas then agreeing on a central document that we updated regularly as new ideas got thought of. We then were giving access to a piece of software that we logged into to keep track of the progress and ask or answer any questions. We got to test the app before it was launched too.

There were several people involved in this project but we only dealt with one of the directors and also a project manager.

The feedback has been outstanding so far and we plan to push the app very hard going forward.

Workflow was very strong and we regularly spoke in person (as well as via the proj man software).

I was very happy about the ability for Appy monkey to provide several solutions to the design so that the app is super easy to use and navigate and we feel the design rivals the other apps in the same sector.

Social Sports Manager V1 was a great success so we did some research and came up with new features to add to the current version to give the users more reasons to use the app therefore increasing the reach of the images shared.

Increasing the original 4 main features to 6 plus building an upgrade system to collect monthly payments.

The app currently has social media reach in excess of 10 million per month. The new features were very well received by the current users and new users alike. Version 3 is now on the table and will be starting the build very soon.

We were in constant communication throughout the project and the team were very pro active to suggest improvements during the build. They created a far superior product than we anticipated.

The experience of the team enabled them to help guide us through and onto the correct path making corrections and suggestions along the way.

They kept on budget and to the time scale promised. Also that they are always on hand outside of the usual working hours to answer questions and always keeping us in the loop.

I'm an owner of a football tips company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Appy Monkey?

We have a website, and the big problem we had was most of our tips are in-play. When we post an in-play tip, we needed an instantaneous push that people could get through an app. That would eliminate SMSs, which would lower our costs and help us reach a greater market.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They've really transformed our business. They came up with the idea and designed software. We usually use Bet365, and now the tip comes through as a push notification with a link that leads to the live game and the bet. Users can be anywhere and key into the action. They built the app from scratch, based on our ideas. The collaboration is ongoing, and we hope to improve the look and feel further.

I worked directly with two people in the UK. I can see all the teams, and we have access to other contacts working on the project.

We looked at different companies and approached a few. They were honest with us, and we liked their website.

How much have you invested with them?

Our initial budget was £25,000 (approximately $31,000 USD), but we've added new pieces. With the added cost that comes with that, our total cost is closer to £30,000 (approximately $37,500 USD) overall.

We started working together around December 2017, and the collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The number of signups is really considerable, even without a proper marketing campaign. Just through word of mouth, the transformation is massive. We wanted to offer a fourteen-day trial period, which was tricky. We've made it work, and we're one of the few tipster services that makes money.

How did Appy Monkey perform from a project management standpoint?

They were good project managers. I like that I can contact them at any time by phone or through a messaging service.

What did you find most impressive about them?

For me, having that ability to phone someone and get an honest answer is key. When they say they will deliver something, they do it. They meet all our budgets and timelines.

I genuinely think they're brilliant, and I don't have any areas of improvement for them.

Know what you want to achieve. They came up with good options based upon our initial ideas. That will speed up the process.

Customers have left great feedback so far, which has helped us surpass our business goals these first few months. Specifically, they love our branding and the ease of use of our app and website.

We met in person many times during the project, and we’ve continued to do so after the project ended. Mike always shows us how to better position our products from an SEO point of view.

We required an app with unique and detailed features from concepts we had come up with in our planning phase. My business partner had heard about Appy Monkey from a friend that had recently done an app with them. We also searched on Google and created a shortlist but after meeting with Mike and another member of his team, we were very confident that we had found a company that could swiftly deliver.

From the beginning, we had very quick responses to our queries and received a detailed quote equally fast. Out of the three companies we approached, they were by far the most enthusiastic and forthcoming with ideas on how we could improve our concept from the outset.

Appy Monkey created a detailed wireframe and mockup of the app for us to approve. They were responsible for delivering the UI/UX screen designs, a microsite, a backend user system, developing the app, and getting approval for both the Apple and Android app stores. They also went above and beyond in assisting with our marketing strategies on a consultative basis.

What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?

Appy Monkey delivered a very aesthetically pleasing, powerful application that has met our standards and beyond.

Based on the quality of communication between us and the project manager, we were able to identify potential issues quickly and efficiently which resulted in the project being delivered on time. It allowed us to demonstrate a working version of the application in order to secure more funding from various exhibitions and trade shows.

My experience with Appy Monkey so far has been absolutely fantastic. It was a big step for us to come up with an idea and act on it; Appy Monkey gave us the confidence, reassurance, and guidance necessary to deliver an awesome product. They continue to support us as we prepare to launch and we're about to enter into a maintenance agreement with them moving forward. Their continued support to us in invaluable.

Mike was absolutely fantastic from the beginning. The entire team was just as enthusiastic as we were, which inspired some fantastic design/development concepts for the finished product. The communication was also brilliant, with regular updates in between. They also worked round the clock in order to meet deadlines.

Mike showed a real understanding of our goals from the beginning and worked as if it was his own project, which was invaluable and gave us great confidence in an industry that we're not all too familiar with. We mainly communicated over Skype and Teamwork.

I really think that their enthusiasm and clear and effective communication during this project made it a success for us. I would never have expected a company to take so much care and interest in what it is that we're trying to achieve as a small startup.

Other companies we approached took far too long to get back to us, making it seem like we were just another project to them. While Appy Monkey did have more than one project going on, we were never made to feel as if we weren't a priority.
