They've been excellent at responding to direction, but what I would like to see more of is the proactive insights into how to cost-effectively improve the app.

After we started to work with APPWRK, we reached the desired situation of having constant updates and fixes. Before starting our collaboration the project was discontinued due to unsatisfactory teams from other agencies.

We have a daily routine. Tasks are described in Trello. In case of doubts we communicate on Skype. At the end of each day the team send me a short report about what has been done and what it still in progress.

In a couple of cases I wasn't 100% satisfied with the developers. APPWRK finally listened to me and provided other resources but it's been a little hard to convince them.

Additionally, data needed be retrieved in milliseconds across a potentially large dataset, so ElasticSearch was implemented as well.

Mainly, there were 2 senior software engineers assigned to our project, with other junior engineers filling in as needed.

APPWRK helped in the development of the software from scratch. APPWRK gave us an estimation of what the infrastructure would look like and what could be the expected cost of the development. Their team was accountable for frontend and as well as for backend development. They created three different portals, first was created for the hospital administration which included the billing system, second for the doctors which included the patient appointment information and third for the patients which included the information about the doctors and the other staff, APPWRK ensured that the patients or members also get the access to an Online Patient Portal through which they could track information about their health, can raise feedbacks, request for the appointments and can see their reports. 

What was the team composition?

The team with which we carried out the work was varied in size depending on which phase of the project we were working. At the beginning, there were four people with whom we worked, including the assigned project manager and three developers. From time to time the upper administration of APPWRK kept me informed about progress and the changes in the project. During the last couple of months, the team was scaled down to two.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The time it took to process our appointments from the old system to the new system has been cut into half. The patients can now easily book the appointments from the portal, and this helps the hospital management to easily handle the day to day movement. Our members and the staff tell us that it’s the best hospital management software that they’ve used, so we take that as a good gesture. They have done such an exceptional job that I can’t imagine working with another software vendor. From the very beginning of the project, they’ve invested not just in their resources but also in their talents.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We were able to schedule meetings with their team on a daily basis through skype, usually for around 10 - 15 minutes. In addition to these daily online meetings, they kept me updated on the daily work through the text messages.

APPWRK take their project’s personally in a very dedicated manner, They were devoted towards the project till the end. From the very beginning, they knew what they had to do to make this project a success. It felt as of every person of their team was invested in the work. It was assuring to know that it was not just another project for them.
