Along the way they schooled us on everything from app store rankings to keeping users engaged. It wasn't just development, it was like getting an MBA in app building.

Six months after launch we've got over 50,000 downloads and near perfect ratings. But the real magic is that they built it so well that our small team can actually handle updates without begging for help every time. When the interview was aired, because of the exposure, Apptechies dedicated their time to ensure the marketing website was live within hours. That’s a lot of professionalism and empathy towards our company as a whole. That’s hard to find anywhere in the corporate world.

We are pre-launch, however, I am very satisfied with the product and communication.

The project management started on PeoplePerHour, and they are very flexible in working with the tools I prefer, which I am very much grateful for. We worked using google spreadsheets for feedback/revisions, WhatsApp for daily communication and Asana for general project management.

I started doing research about their team & then we got connected on People per hour, they arrange a quick call & we discussed about the project where I found AJ & his team very professional & experienced so I decided to work with tecHangouts.

Once project requirements and scopes was finalized, the development process starts with wireframes, design systems, screen designs and eventually moving on to agile user stories and continuous releases of completed features.

Towards the end of project, production release readiness was includes stress testing and load testing to ensure platform performance can meet projected business growth in the first year. With the target external users and internal users in mind, the platform requires a mix of mobile application, web application and cloud based infrastructure along with a range of 3rd party services to enable fast and reliable transactions that are critical for great user experience but not core value proposition of the product.

Over the duration of the project, we worked with approximately 20 people. The team starts small with a few senior leads such as project manager, product owner, but quickly expand as the project moves from discovery phase to design (2 designers joined) and eventually delivery phase. In delivery phase, at any given time we’d be working with 6-8 engineers from various skill sets such as front-end engineers, mobile app engineers, backend engineers, test engineers and system architect.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The app has been live for almost a year now; we’ve never had significant issues with functionality. tecHangouts LLC provides upgrades phases and maintenance services.

The project manager was really good about guiding me along and was really patient with me while I figured out my end of the project. I haven't ever done anything like this before, so I appreciated the patience. We mostly communicated through slack, emails and had several phone calls as well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Overall, the project team is really strong, and we enjoy working with them. They understand what our requirements are, and, if there’s anything that we need to flag or escalate, they’re very quick to react and drive action items. Not to mention, the quality of the solution was very good considering the relatively little investment that we made.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Approach in experience design and design system could be improved. When working with more than one designers and multiple platform, consistency is sometimes lacking. UI and interaction sometimes lacks consistency in the design. However when feedback is given, they were always addressed and refined.
