I am the vice president of sales and oversee sales growth, profit generation, and market expansion. My responsibilities include developing plans and strategies for growing the business, achieving sales goals and managing the sales teams. What business challenge were you trying to address with AppSquadz Technologies?

We wanted to design and develop a mobile app for Android, iOS, and Windows platforms that would provide a secure means of mobile charges and bill payments. We wanted the app to have all payment options available and enable users to view payment history for all of their accounts.

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

The scope of the project included Android, iOS, and Windows development, including both front-end and back-end development, a dashboard, and a promotional web page.

How did you come to work with AppSquadz Technologies?

We looked at only the top application developers in our area that had at least two years of experience and who had designed and developed similar applications. Our primary criteria for selection included budget, time of delivery, workforce, and product quality and the ability to provide maintenance and support for at least five years.

We have spent somewhat less than $10,000 working with AppSquadz.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project was started in October 2015 and completed by the end of that year.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

All aspects of the project – Android, iOS, Windows, back-end, dashboard and web page development – were delivered on time and with the highest possible quality.

There are a number of things that make AppSquadz stand out. First, the agency uses an adaptive agile methodology for software development, which allows us to work in sprints of 10 days, see the progress each day and then incorporate the feedback in the next sprint. Second, AppSquadz Technologies provides multiple communication channels – Skype, phone, and emails – which we use for daily team meetings, weekly status calls, and monthly management review. More effective marketing strategies on their part would be great, but since they have just started marketing applications, they are not yet operating at a very high level in that area. Nevertheless, we are very happy with the overall marketing they have done for us.

The app is an expression of my passion for cooking. The Master Recipe app created by AppSquadz is one of the best apps ever designed and developed. The selection process was not all that exhaustive. Our decision to use AppSquadz was based solely on the reputation the company has in the industry and on the efficiency of their workforce. The project AppSquadz Technologies worked on was very successful and even surpassed our expectations. The app was designed and developed to provide maximum interaction for the user, giving the user an impeccable experience. AppSquadz developed a best in class UI [user interface] to make the app simple to use for all age groups.

The scope of the project was to work on the detailed specification and design of NewsBuzz. Once the application was developed, we wanted to put it up on Google Play Store.

We searched for several app development companies through references and the Internet. We short-listed three companies we found suitable and visited each one. We found the team at AppSquadz and their leadership quite in line with what we required, so we went ahead with them.

What business challenge were you trying to address with AppSquadz Technologies?

I wanted to create a mobile photo-editing application for Android and iOS. I knew what the app's design and development requirements were. The project was simple enough to understand, but I knew that implementation was going to be difficult. The difference between this photo editor app and others would be to allow users to transform photos with the tap of a finger. I wanted simple yet powerful photo-editing tools to apply filters, adjust colors and so forth.           

SOLUTION

What was the scope of the project?

Photo Editor Pro was intended to be a powerful and comprehensive photo editor that would allow users to do pretty much everything anyone could ever want to do on a phone. I wanted to include a full range of features, including filters, color balance, frames, stickers and the capacity to adjust brightness, contrast, color temperature, and saturation.

How did you come to work with AppSquadz Technologies?

First, AppSquadz Technologies gave me a very affordable quote. Second, they have a very powerful marketing strategy named App Pump Strategy that will provide me with six months of marketing support for free.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project took approximately two months: July and August of 2015.

What were the results of the project?

The application was delivered on time. The high-quality work fully met my expectations and requirements.

What distinguishes AppSquadz Technologies from other providers?

Several things make the work of AppSquadz Technologies stand out. AppSquadz's marketing support is awesome and was a huge benefit to the app. Their wireframe design was very important in giving me a perspective on the requirements of the project before starting, and they provide real-time tracking through very powerful project management software. Finally, AppSquadz Technologies provides a quality assurance certificate that guarantees that all quality parameters have been met and thoroughly checked.

In hindsight, are there areas in which they could improve or things you might do differently?

The only minor suggestion I could make is that AppSquadz Technologies might give their designers, developers, and marketers a bit more time to think about ways they might improve their own strategy.

I work for a small company that makes and sells bus tracking apps for local bus companies in the United Kingdom. We use positions that come from tracking devices in buses, and we display them in a map, which is available on iPhone and Android.

What was your goal for working with AppSquadz Technologies?

We didn't have the funds to hire an Android developer, so we decided to outsource the job.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their work.

Our apps all work on a template system. We've built a system that can change the branding and logo and so on for each of the different bus companies. What we needed from AppSquadz was a template system like the one we used for iPhone, which we could interchange with all the different companies we deal with and operate on the Android market. They built a custom Android app that would allow us to change the colors and everything easily without affecting the core functionality behind the app. Essentially AppSquadz fully built the Android app. The whole thing started around March and probably finished in early May [2015].

What was your process for selecting AppSquadz Technologies?

They were referred to us through a friend. We didn't consider any other agencies at the time. The deal we had with Fourth Screen Labs was so good that we didn't need to do that. Overall, the project was great. It was just what I expected it to be, and it was just as my friend described. It was perfect.

Can you give a sense of the size of the initiative?

It was roughly $3,000.

What were the results of the project?

It couldn't have been much better. I was assigned a programmer from their company who knows Android and Java, and it turned out very well. I was kept up to date through the whole process. They used Elance, which tracked all of the payments and how much work had been done. I had constant screenshots to show the progress being made. The whole process was very good.

Do you have any statistics or metrics on the project?

The app has only just come out, but within about a month, we've already had 250 downloads, which is the exact amount we were looking for. The feedback that has come to us through Google Play reviews has been very positive as well. It was a very good result.

Is there anything unique or special about AppSquadz Technologies that really makes them stand out?

The best thing about working with them has to be the fact that I was able to have a constant stream of communication, whenever I required it, with the developer assigned to me. That was perfect.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or something that you might do differently?

I've never worked on a project like this before, so it was a fairly new experience. The one thing I would say is that we did go over the deadline a little bit, but it wasn't really an issue. Other than that, there wasn't anything.

What advice would you give a future client of theirs?

To be honest, just go with them. It was a really good, affordable project. If a company is looking for affordability and ease of use, they should definitely go with AppSquadz.

What was your goal in working with FourthScreen Labs?

While I have been in the IT [information technology] industry for many years, I founded this company relatively recently, so we don't have the resources to develop our own apps. As a result, I was looking to work with offshore developers who could assist in this process.

Please describe the scope of their work.

They developed the app fully while adhering to all of our instructions and requirements. They delivered the app about a year ago and, unfortunately, it has struggled commercially, which I wouldn't say is their fault. FourthScreen Labs is now helping us modify the app according to user testing. 

SOLUTION

What was your process for selecting FourthScreen Labs with which to work?

I put an RFP [request for proposal] out on Elance, and FourthScreen Labs came up with the best solution and the best price. They were willing to think with me and were always available. It's amazing that they are always there.

Can you provide a ballpark dollar figure for the size of the work that they've done for you?

We spent $12,000 for the first version of the app. The modifications we're making now will be more expensive because they're using different techniques.

What was the timeline of the project?

The project has two phases. The first phase started two years ago. In November, we got in contact with FourthScreen Labs again and started discussions for an update to the app. So, phase two started two months ago and is ongoing.

Do you have any statistics, metrics, or general feedback to show the success of their work?

I've been pleased with the work they delivered to us. They have extensive knowledge of what is available in the market and made us aware of different techniques that we didn't know were possible. We didn't have any delays with the project, I found them to be a very professional company.

Is there anything unique about them that really makes FourthScreen Labs stand out compared to other companies?

They're always available. If I ask them something, I get a response within a half an hour, seven days a week. They give me feedback on the progress they've made on the project. I feel quite comfortable with them.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or something that you might do differently?

No. I only have positive results.
