AppShah has been friendly and easy to work with. On top of that, they’ve successfully completed all our requirements.

How did AppShah perform from a project management standpoint?

From a project management perspective, everything has been great. They’re communicative and accommodating. They allow us to adjust the timeline whenever we need it. On top of that, they don’t pressure us to close off on something because they believe in producing a good product rather than just getting paid for it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I highly appreciate that I don’t have to spend hours explaining something to them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m sure that we both have a lot of things we could’ve improved. However, in the end, I’m not so concerned about those things since they’ve met our requirements.

Be prepared before you start working with them and know what you want. Above all, give them very clear guidelines during the beginning of your partnership.

I needed someone to help develop my application and bring it to Apple and Google.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

In the beginning, I gave them my idea which is to be able to buy someone lunch or a drink, letting them know via text notification. The sender pays the restaurant through the app. AppShah also created a history feature that allows people to know what their friends like and don’t like.

What is the team composition?

I worked with two people. One was Tak and the other was Mou. I talked to Tak in the beginning, and Mou led the charge on the app. He’s been phenomenal.

How did you come to work with AppShah?

I found them on Google. I looked at some of their reviews and liked them. Of course, there are going to be people that aren’t happy with this or that but the most important thing to me is customer service. Tak guaranteed me that someone would always call me back as soon as possible, and that’s been true for the year.

How much have you invested with them?

I spent $30,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since December 2019. The app is live now.

The quality of work has been great.

How did AppShah perform from a project management standpoint?

I would give them a 10/10. Every time I had a question — even if it was silly — they were always very polite. We communicated over email though it was mostly texting.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m real big on communication. It’s almost as if I was supposed to work with them because they communicate a lot.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Communication can always improve, especially when people are excited about the work they’re doing. With that, I don’t think they could have done anything different to improve the outcome of this product.

The only thing I can say is to trust them. Spending $30,000 was a lot of money for me, but I trusted them and they really knew what they were doing.

I’m the owner and founder of Relationship Referee. We’re a collection of non-verbal communication tools for all types of relationships.

What challenge were you trying to address with AppShah?

I needed web development to build my product.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I had a look I was going for but they exceeded that in creating my product. I’m not a technology person; I’m an elevator mechanic, and beyond computers and social media I don’t know much. The solution had to be easy to use, and I didn’t want my customers to have to do a lot of spelling or texting. I have AppShah that information and they killed it. I couldn’t be happier.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Pat initially as the sales guy but I also worked with Jay. I was adamant about pat being kept in the loop, though.

How did you come to work with AppShah?

I originally went to another firm and was not happy with the outcome, which spooked me about working with other vendors. Then, I was on the internet and saw AppShah. After speaking with Pat, who was amazing, and his supervisor, I felt very comfortable. It took me a year to start doing business with them but Pat was very persistent and full of information. He really made me feel like he cared. Before I gave them a dime, I knew more about phone applications and websites than I’d ever known.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve spent around $15,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January 2018 until March 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

All I had was ideas, and they listened to me and created something better than I imagined. My original idea was a board game and I brought that to them. Even then, I wanted to eventually make it into a mobile app. I couldn’t afford a mobile app at the time so they told me about the importance of a web page, which they created for me. I have to find money and investments to create the application. AppShah will create the app when the time is right.

How did AppShah perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re at a nine and a half out of ten, and the only reason is that we had an incident that was out of their control. Still, I had to start working with someone different. Jay and I had talked about so much and gotten so much accomplished so when I had to start with someone else, that new person didn’t understand what I’d already done. We took some steps back there, and that’s the only reason this isn’t a 10. The new person got back up to speed very fast, however.

Our communication was always over the phone or with the AnyDesk programs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their people skills stand out to me, as does their patience. I was frustrated because of all the things I didn’t know but they took the time to help me understand it. Their customer service skills are top-notch.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would have to say no.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t be afraid of what you don’t know. Explain what you want and AppShah will do it for you. Inventors are always afraid that someone is going to take their idea, but once I got comfortable with them and opened up they handled everything.

What challenge were you trying to address with AppShah?

We needed them to build out the consumer-facing interface and visual ID of our app. Additionally, we needed help getting into backend development as well.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They undertook front- and backend development in their work with us. In that effort, it was their responsibility to construct the overarching functionality, UX, and overall look and feel of the app. I provided the logic, algorithms, and concept. From there, they interpreted the vision and idea into a full-scale app. The final solution is for both iOS and Android.  

What is the team composition?

I was working with 3–4 individuals on a consistent, ongoing basis. They also had a separate development team that they collaborated with to build out the app. 

How did you come to work with AppShah?

I found them while conducting an extensive search for a partner. While looking through their portfolio, I came across a number of apps that they’ve designed in the past that were all very impressive. Additionally, their work was very high-quality for the price they were charging. Considering that we’re a bootstrapped company, that was important to us as well.

We’ve spent about $17,000 on their work to date.

We started working together in March 2019, and our collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app has not launched yet, as we’re still fine-tuning some final pieces in the development process. Their work has been very good. My business partners have tested the app and have said that the functionality and look of the app have been strong. We’ve seen pretty positive feedback so far. 

How did AppShah perform from a project management standpoint?

I had a core group of their teammates to interact with, and they would translate my needs to the larger team. That worked out very well for me. They’re proactive and efficient, turning around new developments in a timely manner. If we run into a problem, they actively communicate to come to a solution. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Within each phase of the app development process, they’re very on top of the schedule to ensure that they deliver according to plan. That’s a testament to a strong internal process. As clients, we aren’t overwhelmed and can provide feedback at several different touchpoints.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. They’re growing and expanding their areas of expertise.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

From the start, it was advantageous for us to create a detailed, thorough scope of work. They provided great advice for scoping out the requirements, but definitely make sure that your needs are fully communicated. Beyond reasonable estimation, additional features will be incorporated for additional charges. They’ve been lenient about small tweaks, though.

AppShah created the whole app for me. It is an application that was developed for iOS and Android that helps individuals organize their wardrobe. It offers a social networking platform as well. Users can upload designs, upload pictures, and comment on the app.

I think it was 4–5 people.

I found them online. I initially called them years ago, and they gave me the price. It took me a while to save up, but once I had the money, I gave them a call again.

The project began in May 2019 and was completed in March 2020. They gave me a three-month period to see if I’ll need any updates.

Every month when a new project began, they always let me know what the next step was, and they would always get things done within the timeframe.

Their customer service is great. I really don’t know about other companies because AppShah was the only one I looked into.

No, I think they are a well-organized company.

I have recommended them to someone already. I told them they are a great company.

They took the concepts that I gave them and worked all the way to delivering the final app, including everything from putting together the scope of work, designs, and front- and backend of the application. I had some initial screens laid out, but they built on top of that to create the final version in both iOS and Android.

We worked with a few different people from their team, including one project manager who has worked with us since the beginning.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

All I had was the vision and words that I knew I wanted for the app, and they were the ones who were able to put those into action. They really worked with me through the whole process and even added things into the app that I didn’t ask for that they knew would help make it even better. I’m really grateful for all of the work that they did for me.

How did AppShah perform from a project management standpoint?

They made it really to keep track of all of our progress on the project, which I really appreciated. We communicated through their project management software and then transitioned to email once we were in the beta testing phase. I had no complaints about their adherence to deadlines and everything.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was really impressed with their ability and willingness to communicate honestly about everything. They stayed on top of each different aspect of the project that we were working on, and if there was ever a deadline that they weren’t able to meet, they communicated that to me. That transparency gave me a lot of confidence in their abilities and the eventual product they were going to deliver.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I really don’t have anything in mind that they could improve upon.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure that you hold up the communication on your side. They will do everything they can to stick to your deadlines and keep messages flowing back and forth, but if you aren’t responsive to them as well, that will slow your project down.

I’m the owner of My Speech Community, a speech pathology social app.

What challenge were you trying to address with AppShah?

We needed a partner who could design and develop our app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

At the start of the engagement, I gave AppShah an idea of what I wanted in terms of look and functionality. The app is a social app, built to allow parents and speech pathologists to communicate with one another about the child’s speech delay. Parents who have questions or concerns and are unsure about whether they should go to their pediatrician can post their experiences. Other parents or pathologists can then provide guidance and advice.

The team implemented all of the features and functionalities we needed, like instant messaging, a forum to post text and photos, and profile creation. They built the app to be compatible with both iOS and Android.

I worked mainly with three individuals.

How did you come to work with AppShah?

AppShah was very persistent in wanting to take on our project. I did my research on a number of companies, but none of them were the right fit. AppShah fell in the middle in terms of interest in the project and a price point within our budget. They were in consistent contact with me in a way that was aggressive but polite, so I decided to partner with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $19,000–$22,000 on the engagement.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project took place from March 2019–March 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

AppShah delivered every feature I asked for. When I show the app to others in my industry and people who will help me promote it, they all say it’s a very clean, professional, simple app, which is exactly what I wanted. The fact that the team was able to stick to that was great. 

How did AppShah perform from a project management standpoint?

We used a software called Team, which we used to upload files and images. To stay in touch, we used phone calls and emails, and AppShah was always available and responsive. They set clear timelines, but remained flexible. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I never got the sense that AppShah was trying to make money a central aspect of our engagement. Of course, they wanted to get paid, but they were very understanding throughout the entire process. We always had open communication and transparency between us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would’ve liked to see them be more open-minded throughout some parts of the process. It would’ve been nice to have seen them stick to some more of the creative ideas I had.

I am a consultant radiologist working in the U.K. healthcare system.

For what projects/services did your company hire AppShah?

AppShah was hired to develop a new app called Grafa, a radiology case solver.

What were your goals for this project?

The objective is to help radiologists reach differential diagnoses in a more organized way. Currently, there is no similar app in our field.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

My colleague recommended AppShah, as his wife was developing another app.

Describe the project in detail.

Grafa is a case solver that calculates the probability of diseases based on variables selected by the user. It integrates data using a mathematical model, sorting them in descending order of importance. We only covered some sections in radiology.

What was the team composition?

I worked with their project manager and development team.

What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?

We just launched the app in the Apple Store and Google Play. So far, we have not received any feedback from the doctors about it. It would probably take some time before people become aware of the app, as the idea itself is quite new.

How effective was the project management?

During the year we worked together, we changed project managers. One of them was very encouraging and understood the challenges. His comments and contribution were effective and helped keep the workflow on the right track.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The quality of the finished app was fantastic.

I’d recommend AppShah for building professional applications.

I’m an engineer with a company which makes semiconductors and microchips that are used in many applications.

What challenge were you trying to address with AppShah?

We needed to create an app that we could reference outside of work. Our work involves a lot of proprietary things that we can’t carry outside of work, so we needed an app to reference during emergency scenarios. We needed to include detailed information on the accepted roles, protocols, and questions to ask for differing situations.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

AppShah is developing the app for both iOS and Android. We provided a PowerPoint showing what we wanted the interface to look like and the information that should be included. They gave me options in the initial phase for what the overall theme would be, but they didn’t contribute heavily to the design. They are working to transfer the information we already had in the PowerPoint to the app.

I work with the project manager directly.

My manager selected them, but I don’t have information on the process involved.

The project began in January 2016, and the work is ongoing.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The interface is very nice and it has everything we had requested. I think they did a really good job. We did have some bugs, and they had servers go down for quite a bit. During that time, I was unable to access the app. It took longer than I would have liked to get the server back up.

How did AppShah perform from a project management standpoint?

They had a high turnover rate, so I had to work with several project managers throughout the project. The most recent project manager is the best, and he is showing initiative to get this project completed. I previously had to initiate almost everything. I communicate with AppShah roughly twice a week by phone or email.

There have been instances of missed deadlines. The current project manager keeps me informed when this happens, but I’ve had to reach out to the others to get that information.

What did you find most impressive about AppShah?

I have nothing in particular to add.

Are there any areas AppShah could improve?

I think they could be better with meeting deadlines. This is something we wanted to roll out months ago. I wish things would be more urgent on their side.
