We needed an explainer video in order to properly explain our value proposition to capture new leads and appointments via our web/digital marketing strategies.

We vetted out over 5 different companies and we chose Animation Explainers due to their overall professionalism, attention to detail, and price. While they were not the most expensive, the overall quality to price ration was very compelling.

The video was 100 seconds in length and the firm did an amazing job describing the overall sales process of a IT strategic decision. The way they brought the process to life was amazing. They did not even need a single edit toward the end.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

Hugo and Dylan were great communicators and very hands on with everything that was needed. From script writing, storyboard, and edit processes - they were very accommodating and I didn't have to repeat myself endless times. Just said what I wanted once - and they got it.

We were looking to create an entertaining and informative video to explain the technology being utilized in our project.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We commissioned them to create a three-minute animated video for one of our projects. In addition to animating the video, they also hired a voice actor from their catalog of performance artists. The video describes what the project entails and energy savings. Then we hired them to create another two-minute video to present general knowledge about our company.

How did Animation Explainers perform from a project management standpoint?

We appreciated that they’re very patient. When tackling projects like this, last-minute changes are common, but they went back and fixed things multiple times to make sure we were happy with the results.

Their communication was pretty good. We generally used Microsoft Teams. During the initial planning phase, we spoke every week or two, but now I’ve only reached out to them a few times recently. There was a five-hour time difference between their team and ours, though, which occasionally led to delays.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their teamwork was really great.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They may need more staffing. They seem to be a little overworked so they miss fine-tuned details.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have an open mind and allow them to guide you. Do that, and you’ll end up with an excellent animated video.

What challenge were you trying to address with Animation Explainers?

We wanted to produce an animation about the new service we’re providing.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started the collaboration with some discovery meetings so they could understand our needs. Animation Explainers sent us a Google Doc form for us to describe everything and the steps for storytelling if we wanted that. They also offered us music options for voices to select. After they got the writing section done and understood our product, they began working on the animation. Animation Explainers then sent us a PowerPoint version of the animation so we could begin making any needed changes.

We reached out to them because we were referred by my CEO. We exchanged some emails and booked a call. The project went really well and the experience was excellent. Everyone inside of the company really liked the video and thought it was cool.

How did Animation Explainers perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management skills were really good. They had all of the files ready, which helped speed up the process. Anything that was delayed was on our end because we had to get the CEO and COO to approve. They laid out the timeline and promised to deliver in a certain amount of time, which was great. Asking questions and providing us with the background, they followed the timelines and knew what they were doing. The team had really good communication skills and we kept in contact through email. They also used Google Drive and Dropbox to change gears and work with our system. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Animation Explainers was really open to our change. Our team is really busy and they found time to hear us and had patience. When we first started out, we thought there was no way they would be able to understand all of the technical details of our company but they got everything.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were so many choices for music, which made it challenging for us to select the exact one that we wanted to use, but that's not a huge deal.

Go for it; they’re awesome and easy to work with.

I’m a product marketing lead at The Media Trust. I put together a lot of content to promote products as well as help build new products that can better address our client's concerns and the market’s needs in general.

The Media Trust is a firm that really looks out for the safety of users on the internet. We do that by doing multiple things including protecting users from malicious advertising, malware, and other bad stuff that’s floating through the advertising sites.

We work with publishers and ad tech companies as well as work with enterprise clients, a lot of retail clients, and e-commerce clients. We offer a wide range of services from data compliance, creative blocking, and categorization of advertising creative; it’s a wide packet.

What challenge were you trying to address with Animation Explainers?

We were trying to find a cool visual way that simply described one of our top products, Media Filter. We needed something that really hammered home the benefits of the product, blocking malicious creative coming through advertising pipes, in a succinct and exciting way.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Animation Explainers spent a good amount of time talking to me and asking all about what my product is and what we were looking for. Then because of some of the feedback they gave on the project we were working on, it was clear that they did their own research too.

I wanted to make sure they were fully stocked with as much information as possible because my feel with ad tech is byzantine and confusing. However, Animation Explainers asked a lot of great questions and definitely wanted to understand exactly what was going on.

It began with a sales call explaining the different offering levels and how we could customize things. We couldn't quite justify their premium offering, but they customized it a bit to the way that we wanted. They gave us a form that was clear on some things to fill out as well as ideas with various projects they could work on. Animation Explainers gave us an idea of how the process would work and a list of candidates for voiceovers. We wanted to get this done in a quick manner, and they gave us all of the tools to make it happen.

Following that, we got onto a call with the project manager and walked through exactly what we wanted. I had an idea for the story of the video, and I threw it at them letting them know that was what I saw in my mind. Then I asked them what they thought would work with that. From there, we were able to put something together.

After that, we had a storyboarding process. We were clear to each other and got through the storyboarding very quickly and then began the animation. Animation Explainers used a video platform that made it easy for us to comment frame by frame, so I put in all my feedback in a way that was very understandable for them. The next round looked almost exactly how I envisioned. They really turned an idea that I had into an even better reality. All the animation was them.

There was a salesperson I was initially in contact with. Then Hugo (Project Manager) became my main point of contact. There were others doing the animation behind the scenes.

How did you come to work with Animation Explainers?

My boss started having conversations with them before I joined the company, but I believe they reached out to us either on LinkedIn or by email. Our team had a couple of conversations with them. We liked their work with other companies, the price was perfect for our budget, and on top of that, the people we initially talked to were very forthcoming on all explanations, answered all of our questions, and were really pleasant to talk to. I knew exactly what I was going to get from the first meeting.

We invested $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started around November 2020. Our CFO is just rubberstamping the payments, and as soon as he does that, we will get the finished video. The project will be completed soon.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our estimate was that this was going to be finished in early April 2021, and we ended up being way ahead of schedule. I was expecting it to take longer and was pleasantly surprised when Hugo kept coming back with results early.

We will have this video on a variety of pages on our website as well as on our YouTube page. We’ll be tracking leads that come in via YouTube. Our team predicts that the amount of potential business will be about $250,000. We loved what we saw during the storyboarding process.

A highlight of the project stems from a couple of asks I had. There’s a part in the video where a character starts doing some Kung Fu moves. Hugo said they were able to try out something new that they hadn’t tried before, and I really appreciated that. I was a little nervous going into it because I had never done a project like this, but they made it easy.

How did Animation Explainers perform from a project management standpoint?

They are excellent. Communication is extremely easy. Hugo is always eager to jump on a Zoom call and talk things through. They are never long, unending calls; we are able to knock stuff out really fast. He is extremely clear.

Having one contact made the communication really seamless. Hugo was filtering everything to his team very well. I’m juggling lots of different projects at the moment, so one easy point of contact was a blessing.

What did you find most impressive about them?

This is the first animated video I’ve ever worked on for a company. What distinguished it for us was the price, the quality, and their ability to turn things around fast. We didn’t invest that deeply into competitors because what Animation Explainers gave us from the start was in the budget, and we liked everything that they had done so we went for it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t have anything. The engagement has really exceeded my expectations. I expected to be caught up in a lot of edit rounds, but Animation Explainers took every suggestion I had and ran with it.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

For anyone who is going to do a video like this, come in with an idea and some potential narratives that you could potentially put out. The second thing is to fill out all the forms and give Animation Explainers the research ahead of time. Give them as much information as you can because they’re asking for it. The more information you give them, the better the service is going to be.

Come to the table with ideas. They took what I gave them and turned it into their own. Part of the reason they can offer the service in a very affordable way for a small company like mine is that they had a lot of templates so they can program things very easily. Be active in the process. It’s a collaboration in the end, and it isn’t just them throwing ideas at you. However, they do have a giant stock of ideas themselves.

What challenge were you trying to address with Animation Explainers?

Our management team requested that we come up with an easy-to-understand video that explains our product offerings and mission to customers and potential investors.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They produced an explainer video for our website. After the introduction, the video covers four of our products. They used animation to explain how each product works and how they can help us solve problems, followed by an interactive product demo.

In its entirety, the video is nine minutes long, but Animation Explainers helped us divide the video into four different videos to highlight each product. They used the introduction plus each product demo to come out with four different videos. Now we can put different videos under different product pages on our website.

We worked closely with the co-founders and they assigned two animators to help with the video.

How did you come to work with Animation Explainers?

I called all the vendors on Clutch before choosing to work with Animation Explainers. They provided the most reasonable price and were able to deliver the final product within two weeks because we were in a rush. Animation Explainers cost 1/3 the price of the highest vendor. They also understood exactly what we wanted. We did some reference checks. One of my friends had used them and was happy with them.

We worked together from February–March 2021.

We told them our needs and expectations and they were able to fulfill them as expected.

How did Animation Explainers perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a kickoff meeting and five rounds of discussions. They were very responsive to our requests. They showed us their draft and overall design mindset and we provided them with feedback. They responded to us with an updated version within 24 hours.

We used Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides. They also provided software that allowed us to point out directly on the video where we’d like adjustments made.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They knew what we expected. The first draft wasn’t far from the final versions, which saved us a lot of time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The voiceover actors pronounced certain words differently so we asked them to re-record them a few times. However, that was the only thing that needed to be improved. Overall, I’m satisfied with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

State your needs very specifically so that they can come out with exactly what you want. For example, we usually share an image online that shows the feeling we’re trying to achieve. The more specific you get, the more efficient it will be when it comes to the final product.

We started a staffing division in the company. Animation Explainers helped us with our promotional video to kick off the new division.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We gave them examples from other websites, and Animation Explainers had us review other videos to understand what we wanted to do from a theme standpoint. They then helped us the entire way – from concept and storyboard to music and voiceovers. Their team helped us create a storyboard, script, and visuals for the video. They then produced and edited a one-minute video for us to use on LinkedIn to introduce the division and market it.

On LinkedIn, we received a tremendous response to the video. We ended up with 1,873 views on the post, and I have about 3,500 followers on LinkedIn. People also liked and commented on it. That was by far the best response we’ve gotten on LinkedIn.

How did Animation Explainers perform from a project management standpoint?

It was a collaborative process. They listened to what we wanted and then helped us create a product from those ideas. We edited the script on Google Docs. They also used Wipster, which allowed us to earmark and make comments on the video. We did three rounds of edits to the video, and they didn’t charge me more for them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Animation Explainers created a great core product, but it was also easy to work with them on edits. I made initial edits and then sent it to other people to review. Other people requested edits, and we actually changed the emphasis in the dialogue. Their team made all of the changes in days, so it was an extremely fast process. I was extremely happy with the project.

I have no complaints. The final product was exactly what I hoped to create for a launch video.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I used their storyboard portion of the process and would recommend it because that helped us eliminate a lot of issues. Rather than going straight from script to video, the storyboard process allowed us to hone the project.

I’m the director of content, events, and brand for Procare Solutions. We provide childcare management software to more than 30,000 childcare businesses across the country.

What challenge were you trying to address with Animated Explainers?

We’ve realized that it’s important to have compelling content to build our brand, attract customers, and increase the conversion rate on our website.

We wanted to create videos that would resonate with our audience. By using animations, we  hoped to communicate our message in a way that was easy to digest and entertaining to watch.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Each video takes about three weeks to complete and we’re currently working on our fifth video with them. Recently, they created a video for one of our main products.

When we first started working with them, we spent time describing our tone and voice.

Since then, we’ve followed a methodical process. For every video they make for us, we have a phone call to tell them about the product, the key elements we want to highlight, and the length of the video. Then their team creates a script, and share it with us through Google Drive. After that, we get to choose between several options for voiceovers.

After going through the script, we provide some input and have another call to go through everything. Once that gets nailed down, we use their software to click and comment on certain elements of the video. Finally, they begin to animate the first draft of the video.

Our CMO asked for recommendations from an online community. We looked at a few companies, but they only offered an interview-style production, which was expensive and took a lot of time.

We’ve shared the videos on our website, YouTube channel, and at virtual events. Anecdotally, people love them.

We’ve seen a remarkable rise in traffic on the pages that have videos on them. We’ve embedded links into the videos where people can request a demo, and our conversion rates are very high.

Their videos have performed a lot better than other videos we’ve released in the past.

How did Animated Explainers perform from a project management standpoint?

I’m in Colorado, and the two people I work with are in the Isle of Man and Ireland. Despite the time difference, they’re super easy to connect with because they’re very flexible.

They also follow up with me when they need to. For example, if I miss an email from them and they don’t get a response, they will reach out to me again to keep the project moving forward.

We communicate primarily by email but we do communicate over Zoom when we start a project or I request a lot of changes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They work really fast and turn things around very quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There have been a few times when we’ve provided feedback and they didn’t incorporate it. At the end of the day, we’re all human and they just need to pay a little more attention to detail.

New clients should have a clear idea of what the tone, voice, and look and feel they want. If they can show them examples of videos, blogs, or other content they’ve used in the past, Animated Explainers will have a better idea of what their brand is.

I’m the CEO of SkinBioTherapeutics PLC. We’re a microbiology company that research and development into the microbiome specific to the health of skin.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Animation Explainers?

We’re releasing a probiotic supplement that, when absorbed through the gut-skin axis, can be beneficial for the skin. However, the science behind it is very complex, so we needed to create three 30-second standalone videos that simplified the science behind our product. Still, we didn’t want to simplify it too much because we had a broad audience ranging from patients to scientific academics, analysts, and investors.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They did their own research and asked us to fill out a briefing document. Then they asked us questions, such as how the bacteria looks under a microscope and what the bacteria in our probiotic supplement does. After discussing their questions with my team, we provided a more detailed briefing document.

Using that information, they translated our descriptions into layman’s terms, created storyboards, and took that to the animation team.

Then they offered us a wide variety of voice over options; we were able to select from male and female voices, different accents, younger voices, and older voices.

From there, they created one video about what the gut-skin axis is, another to explain how gut health can cause psoriasis, and a final segment about our product.

What is the team composition?

Dylan (Co-Director) was our main contact when we were considering them as a partner.

Then he sent us a dozen types of similar animations so we could choose what looked like what we were envisioning. Then they handed off the project to Hugo (Project Manager).

How did you come to work with Animation Explainers?

We spoke to six other companies, but Animation Explainer’s engaging nature and can-do attitude was very appealing. Initially, we spoke to Dylan and we immediately trusted him. He was very understanding and easy to talk to. More importantly, he was clearly sharp and understood the science we needed to explain. If he didn’t understand something, he asked questions until he did.  

How much have you invested with them?

We spent less than $10,000. Their prices are based on how long the videos are, and we got 3 30-second videos. They were very transparent about costs.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started our conversation in October 2020 and they completed the videos in December 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The result was phenomenal. The videos are easy to understand and the animation is anatomically accurate.

Our entire board said the videos were flawless and wanted to upload them to our website immediately. On top of that, our target audience has been impressed — professors of biomedicine, anatomy, and dermatology recognized how good our video it is.  

Animation Explainers developed a really creative solution. Although all three videos can stand alone, they can also be compressed into one video, which we hadn’t considered. A lot of people will be drawn to our product because of how it was presented. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again.

How did Animation Explainers perform from a project management standpoint?

They were flawless. If they needed to speak with me, they prioritized it and made sure that we scheduled a meeting. As a result, they met every single milestone.

I also can’t speak highly enough about Hugo. He was exceptionally patient and accommodating. At one point, I had to ask them to deliver the videos weeks earlier than we planned, but he assured us that it wasn’t too much trouble and accommodated us. He even responded to emails at all hours.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were flexible and have a can-do attitude. They learned a lot about a complex topic and were able to translate it into an animation that anybody could understand.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I wouldn’t have altered a single thing about their process. I’m looking forward to working with them again.

The more information their clients can give them, the better the final product will be.

They should also trust Animation Explainers because they’re masters at what they do. Their advice is worth their weight in gold. If we listened to them a little more from the start and spent more time on the brief, we probably could have saved a couple of days.

Animation Explainers created an animated video explaining what we do as a company. It included the whole process involved in selling property and real estate, as well as exactly how our services work. The video was one minute long. 

They were responsible for everything: the content, the animation, the voice-over. It was an all-encompassing service.

I found them on Google. I chose them after taking a look at the videos they’d made and their company profile. They presented themselves in a very good way and professional manner.

We worked on the project from November–December 2020. However, I’ve contracted them to make two more videos.

They did a fantastic job — I can’t praise them enough. People constantly asked who did the work for us, because they want to engage their services as well. 

We don’t have a lot of analytics, but one thing I can say is that our inquiries have around doubled since we partnered with Animation Explainers.

We kept in touch over email, and the communication was incredible. The team was always attentive and responsive to our inquiries. Instead of coming up with problems, Animation Explainers came up with solutions each and every time.

What challenge were you trying to address with Animation Explainers?

We were trying to explain our business proposition to customers that are aware of expert networks but aren’t aware of our company. We wanted to showcase our value in the market.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created a two-minute explainer video to showcase our technology to showcase what our company has to offer in the expert networks space. We took a collaborative approach to the process, starting with requirements gathering. That involved a brainstorming session, where we determined a few different directions in which we could take the product. We progressed into script development from there. During that time, there were plenty of revisions, iterations, and ideas floating around. 

From there, we entered the storyboarding phase. After we provided feedback on the storyboard, they created the animated video. 

What is the team composition?

We worked directly with Aaron (Co-Founder). He was our main point of contact. 

How did you come to work with Animation Explainers?

We found them through Google, and I reached out to Aaron. At the time, we were actually going to choose a rather large company in our area. After speaking with them, we were impressed with their capabilities. Plus, we wanted to give a small company like ours a chance to grow.

All internal stakeholders were happy with the video, thinking that it properly explains what our company does. We feel that it will position us as we hoped, but we’ll be tracking additional metrics as time goes on.

Aaron was fantastic, always very responsive to emails. Even when met with extreme challenges, he was still on top of everything to ensure that we had the best service.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their openness to collaborate really stood out. Other companies offered more rigid solutions, but Aaron was willing to listen to our ideas and incorporate those. That left us with a product that had the essence we were hoping for. They were very accommodating during the scripting and storyboarding process, allowing us to reach the best possible version of the product.

No, they were great in all capacities. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open to ideas and ways of portraying information that you may not have considered before. I’d recommend a collaborative approach and feel that anybody would have a great experience with them.
