I’m the marketing manager at Orchid Orthopedic Solutions. We’re a medical device manufacturer, creating knee, hip, and spine implants, amongst other things.

What challenge were you trying to address with Animation Explainers?

We hired Animation Explainers to create a video that we could use on social media as well as to follow-up customer meetings. We wanted to introduce a concept to streamline the customer's supply chain.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

To start, we chose the shorter video option and they walked us through the parameters. We wrote up our story, but it was a bit long so they pared it down to fit our video. They also provided some templates and information to review and select from, including voiceovers, music options, and visuals. From there, they put together the first draft and went back and forth to make some edits. 

What is the team composition?

I worked with around three people, working most closely with Jessica (Sales & Creative Trainee, Animation Explainers). The others helped the sales process and edited the final video. 

How did you come to work with Animation Explainers?

I believe our CCO received a sample from them which piqued our interest in seeing if they could tell our story. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $2,500. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from December 2019–January 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Internally, people have really liked the video. Even some of our board members have given really positive responses. We haven’t shown it directly to a customer yet, but we’ve gotten a bit of feedback from posting it on social media. 

How did Animation Explainers perform from a project management standpoint?

They did a pretty good job with this. I didn’t have any concerns about going back and forth since they took notes and considered our feedback. The collaboration calls would sometimes get cut short, but they worked with me to make sure we had enough time to communicate. We used Google Docs and left our notes through shared documents. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was amazed by their turnaround time and ability to convey our story through visuals. Even during the first round, they came up with great work. They completely and quickly understood what we were trying to portray. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

More collaboration and direction at the beginning of the project would have been helpful. That would have helped us nail down more things we had to change at the end. I wish we had more time on our first call, but it ended up working out well after that. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The better you can explain what you’re looking for and what visuals are important to you, the better they’ll be able to do it. Make sure you understand your own story.

I was the President of Core Thermal , which was a start up company that was developing a class I medical device for the treatment of chronic migraine. The project is now running in the US

For what projects/services did your company hire Animation Explainers?

Animation Explainers worked very closely with me to develop a first class video that explained our journey to date, the investment that we were seeking and what our company was all about. Essentially we hired them to produce a video that via animation illustrated who we were.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to have a wonderful, short video that in just a few moments could highlight what we were all about and the difference that we were hoping to make in the chronic migraine global market.

How did you select this vendor?

I had researched many companies and after having a discussion with both Aaron and Dylan at Animation Explainers my decision was made. At the time, they were only a start up company, yet their tone, their professionalism and skill was extremely apparent. They worked very closely with me to ensure that my vision and modus operandi was explained well, succinctly and with class - they did a fantastic job.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

After meeting with the team, and discussing my requirements, Dylan and Aaron provided me with some documentation that I filled in, it gave them as much information as they needed. They provided me with a variety of voice over artists that I could select from, different images, music choices - in fact they made the job extremely simple.

One thing that I really liked, is that nothing was too much trouble. If they sent a draft through, and I didn't quite like the voice, they would change it - they were absolutely fantastic right from the beginning to the end of the project.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

As a company we were extremely impressed by our whole experience with Animation Explainers, and we would highly recommend them to work with.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We saw a significant increase on our social media profiles, and we managed to get in front of many Angel and investment companies.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Extremely. We communicated often, which is key when working on a project like this. We set the boundaries from the get go which is, in my opinion the best way to work.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Everything was incredible, from the quality of the production to their professionalism. Their attention to detail, their manners, how they explained the process, the effort they made - a really fantastic experience. Furthermore, as someone who has no idea about how to implement and make an animated video, no question was ever deemed inappropriate - so they were extremely respectful too, especially when I was having a moment of instability and doubt.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I don't think so, honestly, they are a fantastic, first class company. They are my company of choice for animation.

We hired Animation Explainers to create an explainer video that we could use on our website and other marketing efforts.

What was the scope of their involvement?

To start, we decided on the length of the video. Then, they had a content template that we worked on together to form the script. On their side, they used the script to inform the animation. For the voice artist, people auditioned until we chose the right one. To get the final video, we made a few small changes to their work that they incorporated. We posted the video on Facebook, LinkedIn, our landing page, and email signatures.

I had one main point of contact, and they served as our project manager.

Someone from their team reached out to connect with me on LinkedIn, and it just so happened that I was looking for that type of service. I connected with them and didn’t look anywhere else.

The project ran from October–November 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

All the feedback we’ve heard has been positive so far. On LinkedIn, we have a few thousand views on the video and it’s definitely making rounds on all the platforms. Whenever someone asks what we do, the video is the perfect resource to show them. 

How did Animated Explainers perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great at managing the project—I’ll definitely use them again soon. We mostly used email, phone calls, and Skype to communicate. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The process was very easy and resulted in a great final product. Sometimes, an easy process results in average work, but not with Animation Explainers. I was very pleased with the outcome. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The process of making a payment was harder than I’d like it to have been; I’m not sure what the issue was.

Follow the process and don’t push back; they know what they’re doing.

I’m the CEO of B3R Network, a networking platform available in 80 countries. I've worked with Animation Explainers on a variety of ventures.

What challenge were you trying to address with Animation Explainers?

My business partner has 2,000 acres outside of Cancun that we’re turning into an industrial park. We wanted a two-part animation that would explain the property, its purpose, and its attributes as an ecotourism space and hemp industry opportunity.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Animation Explainers has put together two videos for us. They streamlined the process to make it user-friendly for people new to the animation world: all we had to do was give them the information they needed about how we conduct our business, and they went from there.

My partner—who likes a hands-on approach—and I found it very easy to work with them. Making tweaks to the first draft was a painless process. Animation Explainers also suggested content that would grab the end user’s eye more effectively. They’re great listeners. 

The first video explains the park and ecotourism space. The second one explains the dynamics of getting involved in the platform, targeting a sophisticated audience that invests between $0.5 million and $18 million.

We then worked on a third video that introduces a brand new concept and encourages people to join in. It alludes to the opioid crisis and encourages people to raise money and build networks around their causes.

What is the team composition?

Dylan (Co-Founder, Animation Explainers), Aaron (Co-Founder, Animation Explainers), and Jessica (Business Development Officer, Animation Explainers) were my main points of contact. I didn’t have much reason to interact with the animators.

How did you come to work with Animation Explainers?

I saw them on Facebook and thought they offered a cool service—animated videos—that is trending on many platforms. My partner coincidentally came to me a week later and suggested Animation Explainers to me. After a quick conversation, we set up a working partnership. We considered 3–4 quotes from other animation studios. From that, I can tell you without hesitation that Animation Explainers is the most cost-effective animation house in North America and Europe.

How much have you invested with them?

Each video cost us about $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June until August 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The video that shows off our property in Cancun led to us being inundated in responses within the first few days. We saw an 80% response to our email campaign with the video. 

How did Animation Explainers perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team really knew how to hold a client’s hand through a difficult process. We communicated through LinkedIn and a CRM/MMS platform. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The product is fabulous and user-friendly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We ran into complications with communicating what we need and what Animation Explainers needs from us. We had some trouble understanding their paperwork in terms of the requirements—it was a lot to go through at once in the beginning. It was a learning curve, but we got through it.

Any advice for potential customers?

I’m not only impressed with their ability to listen and create what I’m looking for, but I also believe they were very friendly people that made themselves available and made us feel comfortable.

We were looking to make an animated product explainer video that was going out to several stakeholders for a new product offering that we had.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We came up with the script and content, and we sent that to Animation Explainers to act upon. They did all the animation in-house and outsourced to a company for the voiceovers.

We worked with three individuals from their team for the project, two project managers and one animator.

We were recommended their company by one of our managers while doing research on animation teams, and I picked up the conversation from there. I enjoyed their portfolio and was impressed by the ideas that they brought to the table in our initial discussion, so I decided to go with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from April–May 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I don’t have any qualitative feedback since it was a project for stakeholders rather than being externally facing. Everyone who saw the video was thrilled about the project and gave us really positive feedback.

How did Animation Explainers perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was excellent. We had a couple of issues with the initial voiceover that we received back from them and their team was very quick to rectify that issue. They were very understanding of our tight turnaround and timetable in general and complied with that well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication skills and ability to manage the project was an incredible added value for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would say proofing videos before they’re returned to the clients might be something they could improve on because it did seem like they could have probably caught the voiceover issue before it came back to us. But that was my only very minor feedback for them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have as much of the project thought out and considered as possible. If you come into the project with a strong vision, but you are also open to thinking about and taking creative suggestions from their team, you will get a lot more out of the project with them.
