They helped us storyboard and come up with a crystal clear script that explained everything really well. The final product was better than we could have hoped for! What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We found out after months of extensive back-and-fourth and their team entirely missing the mark on graphics, look, feel, and messaging that their team was using AI to auto-generate content. When we approached them, they quickly remediated the issue and we agreed to go our seprate ways. On that call their team offered a refund of our deposit since we had wasted so much time and no longer had confidence in their team. After review, the owner retracted those words and decided to stand with the quality delivered and ate our entire $16k deposit. We were left with: 

• 0/9 videos delivered
• 7 scripts that were went unused
• No voiceovers
• No intro-outro graphics

We paid over $16k to have our time wasted and have nothing to show for it. The work delivered is no where near the quality of the work that was shown to us in the intial proposals, the example videos, or the sample work. Everything looked very dated and clunky.

The only positive here is that the AE and our rep were very nice and helpful thrroughout the process. They did their best but at the end of the day, we were sold a bill of goods. I can not in good faith recommend this company or their video and animation services.

No, this project was supposed to last 3 months. It stretched on for 6 and we ended up with nothing to show for it.

Our account manager and our AE, Chance and Chris. They were both great to work with despite challenges.

• Be transparent from day one - use realistic samples (to avoid a bait and switch)
• Check for AI-content from your team
• Jump in faster when the project goes sideways

The service provider responded on November 6, 2025.

After reviewing this feedback in detail, we’d like to address several key inaccuracies and provide clarity for anyone considering working with us.

First, the pricing she referenced is incorrect. The project was heavily discounted from our standard rates - a gesture we made to support her budget and end-of-year goals. It included seven explainer videos, an intro/outro, scriptwriting, and full design support. The 16k figure is also incorrect.

The client stated she “received nothing,” yet by the point the project was paused, she had been delivered seven completed scripts and four detailed storyboards - exactly half the project scope. The only reason videos weren’t animated is because she chose to end the project midway, despite multiple solutions offered by our team to continue.

Visuals were called too simple, then too busy.
Brand elements were approved, then later rejected.
Storyboards were complimented, then said to “miss the mark.”

We were never given clear or stable creative direction. Yet every time feedback was provided, we implemented it - even when it meant entirely redesigning work already approved.

One of the more absurd claims in the review is the suggestion that our designers secretly used AI to “shortcut” the process. Our animation team creates everything by hand, and we don’t take shortcuts when it comes to our production process.

Her refund claims are also incorrect. At no point was a 50% refund offered or agreed to. No commitment was made, and no refund is owed; substantial work was completed and delivered.

Lastly, her statement about being ignored is not accurate. She was given a clear, respectful explanation that they were not entitled to a refund, and they exited the project voluntarily after been given numerous ways forward. Continued emails requesting reconsideration were not responded to, as the matter had been resolved.

The project was to crate a concise, 60-second video that gave an overview of our work while providing the key information for prospective service users to book a journey with us. The content was to be compelling enough to engage potential supporters and increase brand recognition across our community. We're delighted to report that all of these metrics were met and the final video is excellent.

They took the time to listen to what we were looking for and wanted to make sure we were 100% satisfied. When there were issues with a section in the video, they made sure that it was taken care of and resolved. I really appreciated working with them.

How agile and responsive they were. In a lot of cases, video vendors expect you to do the heavy lifting with coming up with a script, storyboard, etc. but Animation Explainers was like a partner during the process. What challenge were you trying to address with Animation Explainers?

We enlisted the services of Animation Explainers to assist us in creating a video for a segment of our onboarding process.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

We required a video that was around two minutes long for our onboarding process. During the initial two weeks, new employees are provided with numerous onboarding materials. One of those is a journey through LinkedIn Learning. The first item they see, aside from the welcome message from our CEO, is a video about the organization that Animation Explainers created for us. It explains what we do, our mission and values, as well as the different initiatives that we have. It gets new hires familiar with what we do.

We had an initial meeting with Hugo (Project Manager), where he talked us through the steps and timeline of the project. We explained to him precisely what we required from them.

The Animation Explainers team handled everything. The project began with the scriptwriting phase and then onto the storyboarding stage. They worked on the design of the cartoon and the aesthetics. We chose an appropriate voice artist and then moved on to the narrator recording. We had the opportunity to critique and ask for edits and changes. We then moved on to the draft stages and the final draft. 

What is the team composition?

We worked with three people, including a voiceover artist and a designer on the backend. We collaborated exclusively with Hugo for the entire process.

I want to give a shoutout to Hugo.

It was through an email that our COO at the time had received. She forwarded it to me, knowing that we would kick off a video project soon. I vetted at least three for our procurement process, but Animation Explainers was the clear winner.

We are still regularly using the video in our onboarding process. We have received great feedback from employees who have seen it. 

The project progressed smoothly, with any deviation caused by our internal issues and delays in responding to Animation Explainers. They clearly outlined the timeline. Their quality of work was fantastic, and it was a wonderful experience overall.

The Animation Explainers’ team was very responsive. We found that they were very open to feedback and accommodating when it came to making changes. Every time we requested edits, they were willing to make them, and the end results always met our expectations.

Animation Explainers has been doing animated video production for us. We started by having a brainstorming session with them over the phone to explore what we wanted to do and envision it collaboratively. We’ve created the entire concept together, which has been fun and energizing, so we’ve been excited about the whole process. Also, they’ve shown us the mock-ups separately so we can provide feedback on them and reach a final product we’re satisfied with.

Regarding equipment,  they’ve provided their own gear, including studio video editing and audio mixing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our website has improved thanks to the work they’ve delivered — our site isn’t wordy anymore, and we’re also planning on using the material on our social media soon. Also, what impresses me the most is that the video matched the exact vision we had on the first call — this is very cool, and I’m delighted because they translated our idea into a flawless product.

How did Animation Explainers perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve stayed on budget, and I even feel they gave me additional content free of charge — we paid for a one-minute-long video, and they added around 40 extra seconds of footage, which has improved the end product. Animation Explainers is a very ethical team that stuck to their original promise and even over-delivered on that.

Regarding communication, we’ve been using Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Hugo has been an active participant in the ideation process — I couldn’t have done this without him, and I feel he’s been my partner in creating this material. He’s been helping me envision the content frame by frame to reach a successful outcome.

Also, their ongoing checkpoints have been key for me to provide feedback to them instead of waiting for the finished product. They involve me in every step of the process, so I can tell them what I like and don’t.

In addition, we like that their team is proactive in looking out for our best interests. They provide their feedback so we can improve the video they’re creating for us — Animation Explainers take their extra time to polish even the final product and go above and beyond with their work.

Overall, the video they created for us blew me away!

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — they’re experts in their crafts, and I’m very satisfied with their work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s very helpful to have an initial call in the creative process to develop ideas for the project — thanks to that, the rest of the tasks for the video fell into place without having to spend much time making changes. Don’t rush things; invest the right amount of time in the initial phase to understand what you want and need.
