Candy Dynamics, formerly known as Family Sweets, founded the Toxic Waste® brand in 2001. Its flagship product, Toxic Waste® Hazardously Sour Candy® answers the call for an extremely sour product that remains sour the whole way through. Its one-of-a-kind double-action sour hard candy treat has become a hit with candy lovers of all ages worldwide. The brand experienced a colossal boost with the virality of Slime Licker® on social media – garnering over 360 million views on the hashtag. The Toxic Waste appeal has spread worldwide with major markets in North America, South America, Europe, South Africa, Middle East and Australia. This international success has propelled the brand into a wide range of products including Sour Smog Balls®, Nuclear Fusion®, Atomz®, Nuclear Sludge®, and many others from the Slime Licker® brand!

We worked with Rich Yarbrough for the development and designing on our new website. He was fantastic at understanding our needs and brining in the necessary team members to fit our needs. Naveed Hussain was amazing with implementing tools to connect this new website with our ERP system that can admittedly be difficult to work with. Following the launch of the new website, Sydnee Emerson has been a wonderful manager for our account - constantly checking in and being willing to help with any need we might find.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The full-scale operations of Americaneagle.com were most impressive for us. What started as a projecvt for website development has expanded into email marketing and eventually social media marketing initiatives. Having one account manager heading up these different stages of the project has made it easy for us to communicate exactly what we need, knowing our account manager understands the brand fully.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Americaneagle.com could have done differently?

Our email marketing efforts underperformed, but I feel that has more to do with our target demographic not graviatating towards this way of marketing. This being said, they were understanding when we said we wanted to pivot and provided plenty of information in choosing the next step.

We are situated in a very niche and technical market that historical partners have had a hard time understanding. The team has done an exceptional job getting to know our ICP, competitors, and subject matter, being a true thought partner and extension of the team.

The team has fantastic communication and is always transparent and honest if roadblocks are faced that inhibit progress. I really appreciate the open lanes!

I’m the president of MilitaryByOwner Advertising, Inc., a real estate advertising platform that helps military families buy, sell, or rent homes near military bases in the US, Guam, and Puerto Rico. We also offer advertising opportunities for businesses.

What challenge were you trying to address with Americaneagle.com?

We were doing too many tasks manually with a basic website builder, and the site was growing too fast to scale with that setup.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Americaneagle.com has built and rebuilt our site four times. As technology and customer expectations change, it often makes more sense to rebuild on a new platform than to keep making incremental changes. We don’t have an in-house development team, so after a site is built, we use monthly retainer hours to handle everything from web design to front-end development and third-party integrations, such as marketing tools and advanced analytics tracking.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with 2–5 teammates from Americaneagle.com.

How did you come to work with Americaneagle.com?

We found them through a radio ad. They were close to my geographic location and had a sales office near my area. They had the depth of expertise and infrastructure I was looking for.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in 2006, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The first build prevented us from going out of business due to too much business. We ultimately made the Inc. 5000 list in 2010 and 2011 primarily due to the improved website. Each rebuild is designed to leverage new technologies that reduce workloads while delivering solutions our customers have come to expect.

How did Americaneagle.com perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve had multiple project managers over the years. They’ve all become valued members of our team and helped us navigate our options and fulfill our visions. They deliver on time. We mainly communicate through virtual meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate our project team and their ability to orchestrate the work of various experts to achieve our vision. Currently, our project manager is Janine (Senior Project Manager). She’s a superstar manager and coordinator. Her depth of experience, knowledge, and relationships within the larger organization make her a critical member of our team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There are always tasks or issues that could have been handled differently. We’re a team, and we work through those issues together.
