We worked with Airdev to build the Dental Assisting U app, and they exceeded every expectation. The platform they developed is a fully featured online education system that combines video-based lessons, interactive quizzes, real-time progress tracking, and a powerful grading dashboard — all within a clean, intuitive interface. It allows instructors to manage students, monitor performance, and review assessments effortlessly, while providing students with a smooth, self-paced learning experience that works seamlessly across devices. From both a usability and performance standpoint, the app has been extremely stable, responsive, and well optimized.

One of the most impressive parts of the build was the flexibility and scalability they engineered into the system. The app supports complete curriculum customization, a virtual patient and charting simulator, and cloud-based storage for secure, on-demand access. It also includes advanced analytics tools for monitoring engagement and learning outcomes. Throughout development, Airdev was communicative, detail-oriented, and consistently ahead of schedule. The end result is a professional, reliable platform that not only looks great but functions beautifully — we’d highly recommend them to anyone looking to develop a robust, high-quality educational or training system.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to streamline the entire training process for both instructors and students. What previously required multiple platforms — grading systems, shared drives, and video hosting — is now managed entirely within a single, efficient system. Instructor grading time was reduced significantly, and student engagement improved thanks to the interactive modules and progress tracking features.

From a performance standpoint, the platform has maintained excellent uptime and stability, even as our user base has grown. We’ve successfully onboarded multiple schools and offices with little to no technical downtime, and the feedback from both instructors and students has been overwhelmingly positive. The system’s scalability and reliability have validated the quality of the development work and positioned the platform for continued growth.

Airdev's messaging portal explicitly outlined each milestone in the development process and made it clear which steps I had to take with third-party vendors and integrations. The process was clearly divided into "build" and "pre-launch" phases, and the outcomes of each stage were clearly defined.

The first build phase will focus on launching a minimum viable feature set that allows the Dive team to share with their network to validate demand before expanding features. 

✅ Assumptions
The app will be web-based and accessible from any modern browser across devices (it is not a native mobile app in the Apple/Android stores)
Building software is a joint effort – Airdev will lead the way, but success depends on timely input and feedback from the client in order to hit our milestones
Airdev will build the functionality described below to be stable and performant. Still, we find that most successful apps need additional development effort beyond the initial build, to iterate and refactor based on user feedback and growth.

🎯 Features 
Homepage
Anyone can visit the public Homepage for the generator tool, which will be on a subdomain of Dive’s main website (e.g., generator.divetalent.com), where they can browse marketing content about the app
An applicant visitor can click “Get started” to start the process – this creates a new session and navigates them to the Results page

Results
When an applicant lands on a Results page for a specific session, they will see a tabbed layout where they can confirm their info and run the tool, and then see their results
The tabs operate as steps that need to be run sequentially, so all future steps are not clickable until they’ve been executed once (at this point, the applicant can navigate freely between the results)
Inputs tab:
Applicant uploads their resume file, pastes the job description of the position they are looking for, and enters their personal info (inputs here)
When they fill in the fields and click “Optimize”, the app will:
Call on Claude with a combination of the General prompt and the Job details prompt to get the company name and job title, and the Feedback prompt to get the feedback results
Send the applicant an email (here) with a link to their Results page, so they can come back later
Navigate the applicant to the Feedback tab when the results are ready

Under the feedback results will be a box that reads “Want to generate an AI-optimized resume and cover letter for this job description? Click to pay a one-time fee of $X and see your results in seconds.” There will be a button that reads “Upgrade and generate”
Clicking the button will take the applicant to a Stripe checkout page where they will enter their credit card and pay the amount set by the Admins
Upon paying, the app will call on Claude with the Resume prompt and the Cover letter prompt to get the respective results
The app navigates the applicant to the Resume tab when the results are ready

🤖 AI logic 
For the initial MVP, we will use the Anthropic Claude Sonnet 3.5 model, which is generally known as a great writer. We will run the prompts below in two batches:

General + Job details + Feedback, when the applicant first enters their info
Resume + Cover letter, after the applicant pays

Note: All prompts below will be created as data (as opposed to hard-coded), so that they can be adjusted by the App admins without custom coding.

Their ability to set expectations. Every part of the Airdev team that we interacted with were always upfront with their capabilities in regard to our wants and needs. They were happy to build anything we asked but they were quick to let us know up front what features could be built within the timeline and, most importantly, the budget that we had specified. In total, we have had 4 weeks of full time development (team of 4-6) and 40 hours of one-on-one time with a single dev. 

We have never felt overpromised/underdelivered with Airdev. We chose them because even in the initial sales call, we felt like they were a trustworthy organization. The experience working with them proved that to be the case.

Hard to measure a flagship, tech-enabled service but seeing the application come to life, delivering value in terms of time savings or organization of information, and the functionality were all factors I considered in determining success.

Project management was very well organized.  Airdev's portal is easy to use and efficient both for communication as well as feedback and making tweaks.  They're also very transparent and thorough in explanations as to what tasks are straightforward (i.e., tweaks) versus those that are more involved and better to be deferred to the backlog.

I think the overall coordination.  For a company that is essentially 100% virtual, I interacted with people in 3-4 countries and time zones which can be daunting at first but their process and customer success function made the process very efficient.

We already had a workflow management system in place to manage our projects on the backend, but we did not have a solution to make it easy for our clients to get started with us, manage their accounts, or have visibility on their past/current projects with us. We engaged Airdev to help us build a web app that would solve all of these problems, and also seamlessly integrate with our existing backend management system. Some key deliverables were:

• Streamlined client signup + onboarding

• Submit job requests from within the app 
• View the current live status of all active requests, and all details of past request 
• Facilitate automatic payments upon job completion 

This has been an ongoing project since about June 2022, and Airdev has helped us to continuously improve over time with their follow-on development sprints.

The tangible final product has been fantastic. We have 2-way transparency between our company and all of our clients, and even have active app user stats built into the admin section of the app. Our clients love the app, and it helps us manage our business to much better than the Frankenstein Google Sheets solution we had been previously using!

I came to Airdev for an affordable solution to develop my project, and I stayed their fantastic development experience. Airdev's project management is phenomenal. They spend a lot of time up-front to clearly identify every single project goal, and exactly how to accomplish those goals in the project scope. 
My Airdev project managers (Tony Macpherson) and senior project manager (David Nabarro) are extremely adept in understanding our project vision and translating it into practical steps to direct the developers. Each phase of the project has been delivered on time, and both my project managers and developers have been very attentive regarding our project needs and adaptations.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Airdev has an excellent process. If you've ever worked with a development agency before, you probably know that even though the agency might be full of talented and experienced developers, their process can be a nightmare. This is not the case with Airdev - their process is extremely thoughtful, and seems designed to minimize friction and maximize results through each stage of the development process. 
TL;DR - Airdev has the best process of any development company/agency I've encountered. They start with essentially a no-obligation consultation to determine if your project is feasible and a good fit for both parties. They're sometimes able to give a very general cost/timeline quote if the project is similar enough to other projects they've worked on.
 If all seems good and you'd like to proceed, they request a small deposit to move forward with full scoping (this is where they dig in deep to identify exactly what you need, and how to accomplish it). The end result of this stage is a comprehensive roadmap of exactly what it will take to build, the time it will take, and the cost to develop. The deposit is often also refundable if the project isn't huge or too unique! If the scope looks good, then you move into wire-framing. 
This is where Airdev engages their designers to create mockups of what your application will look like. It's fantastic to see your ideas really come to life, and have a tangible representation of what you've had in your head! Finally, if the scope, timeline, cost, and designs look good, you're ready to move on to the actual development. Airdev bills in "weekly sprints", pricing development based on how many weeks it will take to bring the project to completion. 
Their rates are very reasonable, and they'll even bill for partial weeks such as 2 1/2 weeks for example. Your deposit from scoping also goes towards the development cost, adding a sort of "discount" to your first week. Weekly development is very intuitive... Airdev sets weekly milestones. Their developers accomplish those milestones, and then report back to you with what they've accomplished and what they want you to test. 
You can leave feedback directly inside of the testing environment, which adds to a sort of ongoing "todo list" that everyone has access to. Then Airdev makes updates based on your feedback, and you've completed that week's development. 
You pay for the next week of development, and the process repeats until you've completed the project. The last stage is review and test, where Airdev gives you a very generous amount of time to fully test your project "in the wild" to find any last minute bugs or glitches. Again, feedback is very simple and the team is extremely attentive in fixing issues quickly.

I wish I had recommendations but I really have none. Airdev does excellent work.
