We were asked to supply an animated landing page for a UK bank. Not only did this require a talented front end developer but we needed full support when deploying the code remotely, through GitHub. The main challenge was setting up the delivery so each push was from Client owned laptops. 

Our contact was a branding agency resulting some very demanding clients, both the end banking client and the designers.

We wanted to use their platforms for large and small organizations. On top of that, they've created different software components and applications for us.

Afterlogic.Works has been providing email-related services for us for the last ten years. We have a different platform for it, but we’re looking for a more flexible solution with more scalability and technology requirements. Overall, their team provides us with solutions suited to our needs, and they have developed different software components and applications to help us better utilize the services.

We knew them from a previous collaboration at another company. They had a lot of expertise in the various email technologies we needed, so we decided to work with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to their work, our business has grown by about 50% since we first launched the email solution, which is pretty much our main success metric for their work. Also, the fact that we now have an email-specific application that operates as a mailbox is a big success for us.

They’ve met all the deadlines and stayed within my budget. We use email and phone in terms of communication.

Afterlogic helped rebuild our website that was once hosted on Shopify and design it to look slightly more upscale, but almost exactly the same on a WordPress site. They had to integrate two separate e-commerce platforms while making the experience extremely feasible for a consumer.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I've worked with Afterlogic before and they did a fabulous job with my previous website while also being cost effective.

We had a Shopify website that we liked the look of and we needed the website to be transferred over with all of its content to a new host site (WordPress). The Afterlogic team designed and replicated the site with a couple of cosmetic changes we requested. They also utilized a platform that they integrated into WordPress so that if someone from our marketing team wished to update the website, they could with ease and without needing to code.

They also had to integrate two separate e-commerce platforms that pertained to specific location. We created a map for the consumer to select to where they were shipping product and it led them to the respected webpage without looking or feeling like they had left the website. They researched the most cost effective ways to run our website and switched domains for us (of course with our approval) and explained each step of the way. Any questions were promptly answered within 24 hours of email receipt. Everything was seamlessly integrated within two months.

I worked with one person directly and so everything was quite easily done. I had one point of contact and that was all I needed.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our website is significantly faster, he integrated the video on our home page much better, and it looks nicer. I've also noticed that our emails are being better received, perhaps since they fixed the API keys within our domaine.

Extremely effective and easy. The communication was straight to the point.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are extremely attentive, answered all questions promptly and easily, and went the extra mile. They do the research for you that you probably didn't even know you needed to better your website. They also understand that most people don't have a massive development team in house so they need to be able to fix change or add content to their websites with ease. They'll walk you through whatever you ask them for.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing comes to mind.

We are a online service and hosting provider from germany. As CEO and lead software project manager it's my honor to plan and supervise different development projects from the first drafts to the last test.

The task was to create a custom groupware which is capable of integrating an existing project management system and completely control the desired mail flow. The new system should be easy to use, adaptable to future requirements and based on a sturdy platform.

We already knew Afterlogic for a long time before the project. And while we were in contact with other companies, it soon turned out that not only is the team extremely forthcoming and easy to talk to, but also highly professional and experienced. All in all, it was a perfect match and it's an ongoing pleasure to work with them.

Based on two existing systems - an existing groupware and an existing project management we had to create new ways to handle emails, integrate backend and frontend into the clients environment and his custom project management tools, without suffering any loss of outside security and without overloading the frontend.

We planned the GUI - relying heavily on Afterlogics suggestions and experience, had to create completely new background mechanisms and get Afterlogic to put themselves into our clients position, which they quickly managed to do very much. The results speak for themselves and tasks were all solved better than actually planned.

We're working closely with two of Afterlogics team members. Both are experienced developers, both are simply great to work with.

The results for our client were definetely better than what we excpected could be achieved before meeting the team. The response from the client is that we managed to create a hugely benefitial project that met even their more extravagant wishes a 100%.

Everything is well documented in their inhoise bug and task tracking system. So it's easy for us to get an update on ongoing development steps. Sometimes I really wonder how things never get lost even if mentioned somewhere in a skype session or in my countless quick messages I write when thoughts cross my mind.

Beside all that they manage to hold even the really close deadlines. Now it feels like we found reliable friends working very hard to help us achieve what we need. (Comment to the team: Yep I mean it guys - I'm really happy to have met you. Feels like someone is having our backs when we need it :)

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

There are not many IT guys who are more dedicated to their work and rarely someone more enjoyable to work with. Professional work is always the key, but so is being able to really look forward to the next skype call. i think they do what they can do best AND they enjoy it. Exactly like my own team. These guys really deliver...

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only regret we have is not being able to simply cross the street, meet them in person and buy their drinks for the good work.

The website is an invite-only platform that we make accessible to selected participants for consumer research studies, and we also make it available for our clients.

We needed a comprehensive software agency that understood the needs of a client and could handle various tasks, namely with Complex animations for a website. The time was limited, and we needed a partner for some segments of this project. We opted for Afterlogic.Works.

On our end, we provided a detailed description of the services we wanted, followed up by a few discovery meetings where we discussed the technicalities, deadlines, and methodology. From then on we got daily status reports.

Afterlogic.Works has worked on a few projects with us. In one project, they developed a custom software system. The deliverable was a fully functioning complex animations for a website. The main technologies were Node.js and Vue.js.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

For us, the main result is that neither our customers nor we managed to find any issues whatsoever. Not for the lack of trying. This outcome lays the foundation for our future work together.

Our communication was very intelligent. His project manager always records everything that we need him to do on Trello, and we use Slack to communicate daily. We really like the daily updates, it keeps us in the loop and gives us the chance to inform them early on if anything is off track. They are proactive in thinking about our equipment needs. When questions or concerns come up, we reach out to them as needed and they’re extremely quick to respond.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were knowledgeable and experienced. They’re also honest and stay level-headed throughout projects or IT issues. Their responsiveness to all of our needs stood out. Quite frankly, they respond even more quickly than I could have dreamed, so we’ve been very pleased. Even when we had to go back and forth at the beginning with our potential transition dates, they were really flexible with us and helpful in making sure we had contingency plans.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think it's always important to strike a balance between speed and quality work – this is what makes cooperation more productive. Our experience with Afterlogic.Works were and still are great. It's good cooperation because they are very responsive and open to any ideas and that's always looking to improve and get better at what they do.

We began our Hosting business in 1998 with a single room, a server and initial investments of just R$ 30,000. Today I act as head of the company's infrastructure, which serves the entire group and within my duties are also the email platforms (with more than 5 million accounts) and the cloud platform.

They worked to assist the implementation of webmail, its integration with the authentication system of the end customer, customizations necessary to meet the demands of this customer and performance adjustments.

Describe the project in detail.

One of our major customers, a well-known e-mail platform in Brazil, needed his webmail to evolve, bringing greater fluidity to his user, a cleaner and more fluid view and bringing benefits of synchronization compatible with the Exchange platform.

One of the biggest difficulties was integrating the client's authentication system, which makes a prior validation of its user so that he accesses the platform and in this regard we work with the Afterlogic team of consultants. Another very important point was the support in the performance adjustments of the solution to meet the needs and demands of the users.

What was the team composition?

2 people from Locaweb and I do not have visibility of the amount involved on the Afterlogic side, but the C-Levels were involved in communications.

We cannot share details because we have an NDA signed with the customer.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Due to the difficulty of the time zone, there was a reasonable delay in the responses, which were all by e-mail, but were always beyond the scope of the contract.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

How involved they were and how helpful they were to solve the problems presented, even if they saw it was not associated with their platform.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I believe that a faster communication, at least in more complicated moments, would have avoided some rollbacks that we had to perform on the project.

We hired Afterlogic to assist us with developing the software we need to track the ROI of each campaign. Afterlogic was responsible for implementing designs, setting up the data infrastructure and trouble shooting and testing each version of the app. Our goal is create a MVP ready for our customers to use.

SOLUTION

How did you select Afterlogic.Works and what were the deciding factors?

We found them through Clutch actually! As a startup, budgeting is always something to consider. We read a few reviews and visited their site, and reached out to them. After talking with them, we found that their work ethics really resonated with us and that they had reasonable pricing. Meanwhile, they are very responsive and effective in coming up with solutions, so the price to performance ratio is very good.

The project is very robust with a variety of features. The team works on IOS/Android and a responsive desktop versions. The team was able to contribute to many challenges that we faced. Primarily the team uses JavaScript, GoogleCloud, relational database to list a few. Afterlogic works on the project in two-week sprints. We find this format very effective, as we are able to consistently see where the project is at and what needs to be done differently. There is the bad surprise that comes with a project "blackhole," where you are presented with the final outcome with no room for inputs leading up to it. We find this often the source of client disappointment, and that is exactly what Afterlogic does not do. They keep us in the loop, so we always know what's going on.

We mainly worked with one project manager from Afterlogic, and he would coordinate with the rest of their team while we coordinated with ours. At the end of every sprint (every 2 weeks), our PM would show a demo of what they've accomplished during that sprint to our team, and from there we will plan out together what to work on during the next sprint. We find this channel of communicating quite effective and organized. Meanwhile, our PM would send us an update everyday and we message each other all the time if anything changes. We are constantly bouncing ideas off our PM and he is effective in helping us evaluate those ideas and implementing the ones that work.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

At this stage the project is still ongoing, so the product itself is not ready for launch yet. That being said, we've been seeing results during every demo, and Afterlogic was a big help in connecting our app to various external APIs we needed to work with, so that would be a measurable deliverable that was very helpful for us. We are confident about the current work schedule and that before long, we will have a product that our customers will be satisfied with.

Our PM always records everything that we need him to do on Trello, and we use Slack to communicate daily, and Google Hangout/Zoom to do our demo meetings (or any other meetings that comes up along the way). The team on our end would summarize minutes at the end of each demo meeting (usually at the end of every Sprint, so every two weeks), so we are all on the same page as to what we should be tackling next. On Afterlogic's end, we really like the daily updates, it keeps us in the loop and gives us the chance to inform them early on if anything is off track.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What's unique about Afterlogic is that they are constantly looking for solutions. When we throw them a problem we want to solve, the response we get is never "oh that's not possible". They are constantly researching and improving themselves, so that they can find the solutions we need. We think this is a win-win situation – by working with us, Afterlogic becomes more skilled technically, and for us, we get to do things we previously thought were not possible.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think it's always that balance between speed and quality – it's something that we as a startup also struggle with, so it's a learning process for both. In general, we find Afterlogic very responsive and open to suggestions. They are a humble firm that's always looking to improve and get better at what they do.

We've evaluated several email solutions including cloud alternatives. We've made several POCs on solutions to see integration features. After thorough research, concluded on Afterlogic.

Our B2B solution for BSH Turkey contains four brands of company. Each dealer access the same interface but sees content, forms and workflows according to the brand they belong. In solution we've implemented an internal messaging system, but also we need to show emails in the B2B itself. That's where Afterlogic implementation is used.

We have nearly 5000 users, 3TB mailbox and 100,000 monthly email traffic.
