I’m the digital marketing and website officer at The National Autistic Society. We’re located in London and are the largest autism charity in the United Kingdom.

I'm responsible for social media advertising campaigns and the strategic direction of our Google AdWords GrantsPro account. My role also involves working and reporting on our website, building campaign actions, and managing our email marketing platform.

We also worked on a number of SEO [search engine optimization] projects to help us improve our website's position in search engines. We didn't have enough internal resources nor the expertise to address these needs.

All of these services were aimed at helping us achieve our core objectives like reaching more autistic people and people who have a connection with autism, as well as raise autism awareness in the U.K.

Describe the project in detail.

The scope was to increase the number of clicks by creating new and additional campaigns in our Google AdWords account as well as improve ad engagement metrics such as our click-through rate and cost per click as we had $40,000 per month available in the account. We provided ad copy, links to the landing pages for ads, and worked together on optimizing the campaign and ad performance.

Absolute Digital Media set up all campaigns and ad groups and implemented conversion tracking as well as any extra ad extensions required. Furthermore, they provided feedback, guidelines, advice, and helped us with keyword research.

The head of pay-per-click is involved in our work.

What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?

From 2015 – 2016, they helped us receive an additional 215,000 clicks, 1,740 conversions, and increased our account wide click-through rate by 3% in AdWords.

We had a brand new website intended to generate leads within the travel insurance sector. We hired Absolute to improve the site’s visibility and increase traffic.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Their main task is search engine optimization. They do all of the work on that front and provide monthly status reports. As part of their link building efforts, they write content for our approval and then send that content to related sites with hopes that they’ll link back to our site.

They provide ongoing conversion rate optimization and advise us on website functionality changes we should make in order to receive more applications from visitors.

They also manage content that’s distributed through press releases and editorials.

What is the team dynamic?

We work directly with a dedicated SEO manager who looks after our campaign and organizes our monthly strategies. We also deal directly with the link building and content teams.

How did you come to work with Absolute Digital Media?

We ran a Google search and spoke to six different agencies, ultimately meeting with three. Absolute stood out because they provided insightful information and presented a clear strategy that fit our budget requirements. After checking their references, testimonials, and portfolio, we decided to hire them.

We've spent about £300,000 across multiple campaigns.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in July 2015 and our relationship is ongoing. While we initially assigned them a single project, they now provide SEO for six different websites and campaigns.

They've exceeded all of my expectations and their own initial projections. Our conversion rate has increased tenfold and our financial records show that our £300,000 investment has generated over £4 million.

How did Absolute Digital Media perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate regularly with the account manager. He provides detailed, monthly updates, as well as any ad hoc reports we request. We’re always able to reach any department and they’re highly responsive.

We typically communicate through email, phone, or Skype video. We also have in-person meetings, at their office or ours, whenever they want to present statistics or convince us to shift strategies in a different direction.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We worked with an agency in the past that lacked transparency and failed to articulate clear goals. Absolute, on the other hand, is always very specific about their strategies, explains their rationale, and helps us understand where our money is going. Even though they’ve had demonstrable success, they’ve never tried to increase their price. That transparency creates trust, and we’ve since handed the previous agency’s project over to Absolute.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Given that they’ve exceeded all of our expectations, it’s difficult to pinpoint anything I would change.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

SEO work takes time and can seem vague if you’re not familiar with the process. Absolute employs excellent communicators, so ask them to explain their services and the reasoning behind their strategies.

We are the UK’s leading independent parenting charity, we offer practical and emotional support through our network of local branches, with classes and counsellors. We wanted to restructure the account because it no longer corresponded with our organisation goals. It needed to reflect the breadth of charity services we offer, improve our quality score, and fully utilise all of the Google Grant account functionality.

I've worked with Absolute in the past and was always impressed with their approach and delivery. We considered five agencies for this work, including Absolute. The key deciding factors were cost, customer support, and understanding of/planning for our targets. We felt that Absolute met all these requirements.

We reviewed key product areas for the organisation, including the keywords and landing pages associated with our products. A colleague and I worked on this with Absolute. We're still working through a copy for our campaigns, but Absolute is responsible creating AdWord sets and keyword lists.

Can you share any statistics or metrics that speak to the quality of their work and impact of the engagement?

Compared with the previous month (which was before they managed the project) the overall volume of goal completions increased by 153.76%, whilst the CPA improved by 50.55%. The average ad position increased from 2.3 to 2.2.

Absolute Digital Media is great to work with. They're proactive and very approachable. We've never needed to create SLAs because they're so responsive and reliable. We usually speak a couple of times a week over email or phone. We use project management tools to manage support hours and project delivery.

Our results have been very positive, they made a point to research our position compared to our key competitors and understand our organisation and products. Their thoroughness, expertise, and proactive approach makes them a pleasure to work with.

With the help of the team, we came to the conclusion that SEO and digital PR would be the best two suited services based on what we wanted to achieve - more requests for a free motorcycle insurance quote. The Absolute Team have continued to support us across these aspects of our business, improving the number of leads.

We are working with the Absolute Team to earn high-quality backlinks to our website with a DR above 40. From an SEO perspective, we have be focussing on the websites technical aspects to bring it up to speed with CRO and UX best practices to effectively position ourselves amongst competitors.

Absolute have been tremendous and still are. They have a unique project management system and approach that helps us to keep informed each step of the way and work collaboratively across the campaign. They have also continually listened to our challenges which has been useful in helping us overcome various issues faced outside of the marketing campaign we're working with them on.

Whilst there were less expensive options out there, I'm so glad I made the decision to work with the Absolute Digital Media team.
