I’m the digital marketer for a construction company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Aaron Knight?

Our old site was about five years old and the platform it was built on was about to retire. We needed to migrate that to a new platform and then redesign the website at the same time.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

 For the design component they used an Adobe stack. They had a tool that allowed them to upload design mockups to and we could add comments, request changes, and stuff like that. They did all the design work. They presented us with five different options, and we took the stuff that we left and put that together into a final version.

They created some design mockups for our home page and seven other templates that they built. Once those templates were approved, they started building the website. Then they migrated all the content from the old site to the new platform.

What is the team composition?

I believe it’s quite a small team. Aaron (Freelance Web Designer) was the project manager and he did some of the dev work too. During the UAT phase, any changes we fed to his assistant, who I believe was also a developer. She would then action those changes.

How did you come to work with Aaron Knight?

I did a Google search for Sydney WordPress developers. They were on the first page ranking from an SEO point of view. We figured that if they were able to rank that highly for a fairly competitive term, that’s someone we want to work with.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September–December 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The team clearly knew what they were doing. They provide other digital marketing services as well, like SEO and content. I really appreciated was that they were able to provide that extra layer of advice during the design process.

They provided useful suggestions that would benefit us during the build so that the site was optimized in addition to looking good. That’s why they did the layout in a certain way and added contact forms for lead generation.  

How did Aaron Knight perform from a project management standpoint?

It was quite good. The tool we used to provide feedback was very handy because we could just add everything in there. Once it was actioned, it would be marked and I’d get a notification and was able to check it out.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Due to the fact that they’re a smaller business, the level of service was more personal. I’ve worked with bigger agencies before on similar projects and had to work with a team of people. Whereas working with Aaron Knight, communication was relatively straightforward.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not off the top of my head.

We don’t have in-house development capabilities, so we have to utilize the services of freelancers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Aaron’s (Freelance Web Designer) one of our preferred freelance developers. He works on a variety of development projects from landing pages to full scale websites. As he know our business well, we let him run the technical aspects of projects. He develops solutions based on our needs.

What is the team composition?

We communicate with Aaron and one of his teammates.

How did you come to work with Aaron Knight?

When I joined, the company already used their services.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $50,000–$100,000 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership started around November 2018, and our engagement’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’m the main digital producer and would choose to use Aaron Knight on most projects because it’s easy to work with them. Unlike past vendors, they're accommodating. Our clients are happy, which is the most important outcome. If they weren’t, we wouldn’t continue to work with them. The agency's owners speak highly of him.

How did Aaron Knight perform from a project management standpoint?

We use a project management software called Quire, and the Aaron Knight team easily adapted to it. Other than that, we communicate with Aaron by email and telephone. He’s always available and never bats an eyelid when we make requests, even if they’re out of scope.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Aaron Knight has so many positive qualities, which makes it hard to choose just one. They do good work. If a vendor’s a great individual but doesn’t do good work, it’s not worth working with them. As much as I like their flexibility and affability, their work's the best part of our partnership.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’re all imperfect but nothing pops into my mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommended Aaron Knight to friends and told them that they’d get great service. Call Aaron because he’s great.
