They addressed my needs and concerns in a timely manner. I had minimal follow-ups or reminders needed. They responded by email so that the trail of questions/concerns and the appropriate response were easy to follow. When needed a virtual meeting on Zoom was scheduled to communicate in a personal live manner.

They had an intensive survey in the beginning that helped them visualize my needs and style preference, so they had a good foundation to start from. I highly recommend their style because they provide concise expert advice, and there is one main person with whom I communicated even though few other individuals on their team are assigned to the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something 99Robots could have done differently?

Navigating the technical aspects of integrating social media content to website was complicated to do on my own in my opinion. Perhaps, a Zoom meeting navigating and collecting the data needed would have been great to get the task done. I just forgot to request.

We don’t have a marketing entity internally, and we decided to bring on an agency to help us with paid advertising.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We would come up with the strategy for the Facebook advertising that we wanted to run, and they would go and execute it. Their team handled all of the backend setup of the different ads and target audiences, and then managed the accounts and spending based on our goals and strategies. A bit of our efforts went to YouTube, but for the most part, they focused on Facebook and Instagram.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Most of our campaigns have been focused on driving leads to a guide, from which they would feed into our email list and we would be able to retarget them. They did a really good job from the retargeting standpoint, implementing best practices there, and executing the awareness campaigns alongside those efforts to help us reach a lot more business owners in general.

The number one metric we’re looking for is cost to acquire customer, which we want to be under $2,000. We haven’t achieved that consistently as of yet, but there have been months where we did achieve it and we are making good progress toward that number. It has certainly been valuable enough to keep the engagement going, which I’m happy about.

How did 99Robots perform from a project management standpoint?

Their communication has been great, and Mo is always really quick to respond to any questions or requests that we have. He knows Facebook really well and does a great job communicating when something has been denied or what changes we need to make from a compliance standpoint, which has been a really awesome resource for us.

Once we establish the vision for each campaign between our two teams, we don’t need to micromanage their work at all. From an execution standpoint, they save us a lot of time which allows us to have the level of reach and lead gen that we want while still focusing on the core of our business.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The number one thing about the engagement is the speed of their responses. For any outside vendor, that is a massively important aspect of making any relationship successful, and they do an excellent job of that. Most times of the day, they’re quick to respond, which really demonstrates how on top of the work they are at all times.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The 99Robots team isn’t quite as involved in the weeds of optimizing or hitting our customer goals as we are, which I think is the biggest area of improvement. They care about those goals and provide some feedback to further our pursuit of them, but for the most part, they’re just executing the specific tasks that we give them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you don’t have the Facebook skillset in-house and already have collateral for advertisements in place, I would definitely recommend them. There are a few gaps in opportunities, but in general, they are great at retargeting and always keep you up to date so that you know how things are going.

It’s only been three months, and we’ve already seen a stronger ROI than we did with an agency we worked with for two years. The campaigns have had success and have doubled down. We’ve seen really positive growth with the campaigns, and 99Robots has been reaching as well as over-exceeding our minimum asks.

In this short time, our trust in them has increased drastically. 99Robots is very conservative about spending our dollars without seeing a positive return. In fact, that’s the biggest differentiator between them and other agencies. When they see that a campaign isn’t working, they turn it off. They’re very mindful and respectful of our goals. It’s clear they want to make sure we’re seeing success.

What’s more, they’re also in our account every single day. Other agencies would check in once a week, however, 99Robots monitors our spend and return on a daily basis.

Their work has positively impacted our internal workflow. They’ve been useful for when my internal technical resource is unavailable. They’re able to provide a quick fix, especially in cases where the site has gone down. They’re able to get us up and running again.

Recently, they’ve gone above and beyond to get the work done in a timely manner. They also ask very thoughtful questions about how to get the project done in the most timely way. I’ve been very happy with our relationship.

They’re very good with follow-up. I always get an email back from them as confirmation of task completion, so it’s been a very smooth process. I’m able to call them in a moment of panic if I need to.

I really did not like our previous ad agency, who was significantly increasing our costs on Amazon, so I was trying to replace them with somebody who had a better understanding of online advertising.

Their main responsibility for us is just managing and strategizing our Amazon ads. That ecosystem requires its own entire formula from everything else, so that was our main priority. The results of the project could not have been more immediate or significant for us. We became more profitable on Amazon in general, which has significantly supported me in my role. They targeted our products that have the highest margin, significantly boosting our total revenue and also reducing our total ad spend overall, which is a really impressive feat.

Their involvement with us has been incredibly fluid, to the point where I consider them part of my team. I can get in contact with them every day and expect responses within an hour and getting things taken care of quickly as well. Our site speeds improved greatly. Our Google Page Insights rating rose from 50 to 60 based on the initial adjustments, and our GT Metrix average page load speed dropped from 6.9 seconds to 3.5 seconds.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was very, very easy. They’re one of the easiest teams I’ve worked with (particularly on tech-based projects). Email was the main form of communication, and each message was clear and concise, with easy-to-understand instructions. This let me easily understand the current work and next steps.

Their generosity and simple workflow were very impressive. They were very professional and clear in their communication, which made every stage of the process much easier to get through.

Facebook had been our primary marketing avenue but their algorithms have changed so much over the years that it’s grown hard to reach our customers. We hired 99Robots to help us identify how to spend our ad money effectively.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I used to handle all of the marketing myself and was struggling to understand all the changes to Facebook’s advertising. When 99Robots came on board, we started with a low budget and worked to improve the visibility of our posts because they weren’t getting many views. That initial ad spend resulted in a solid ROI, so I decided to keep working with them on increasingly-large ad campaigns.

They also provide ongoing site maintenance for us. I handle some things, like adding new product listings, but they do the back-end updates and deal with glitches or emergencies.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their ability to get results was critical for us as a small business because we don’t have a lot of extra cash to throw around. Prior to working with them, our typical weekly revenue was $1,300. We’re now up to $2,000 in revenue per day. Our monthly revenue for January increased 10 times over last year, even though that’s usually a slow month for us. The growth has been incredible.

How did 99Robots perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very professional and quick to respond when I need something. At one point, I decided to run a campaign last-minute and they put everything aside for 12 hours to get it implemented by my deadline. They didn’t give me any trouble about the short timeline at all. I recognize that I’m one of their smaller clients but they treat me like I’m the only one, which is extra-impressive since we only communicate via email and messenger.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They really seem to value our business. It’s hard to find a contractor who’s so attentive and responsive to each client when they’re busy with many. The customer service has been incredible and their marketing effectiveness has been equally impressive. We started out with a very small budget and they were able to use it creatively and grow our business tenfold.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. I’ve had many problems with other vendors over the years, but they haven’t given us any.

Give them a month to see what they can do. As I said earlier, we’re a small, family business and it was a substantial investment up front but every dollar has been worth it.
