Since starting with them our sales have tremendously increased. Their goal is to get me leads. My goal is to close the leads. Its a great partnership.

My favorite thing about this company is that they are not reactive. Our favorite thing is that they are proactive."So, they are telling me what they think would be great new ideas, etc. I really like that. Overall, the engagement’s paying dividends. Our traffic exponentially increased, and we're busier.  We’re back on page one of search results for our top keyword, which was huge to us. However, it’s our blog, not our homepage, so they’re working on that.

We have a conference call once a month to discuss any projects. Their team walks me through their efforts. They’re responsive. If I have a problem with the website, it's fixed within 30 minutes. If their team can’t deliver a solution right away, they give us a timeline. Their team’s transparent, and I’m happy with their service.

Their greatest qualities are their responsiveness and expertise. We worked with one company that didn’t have SEO expertise. Another company would take days to respond to my questions. Unlike our past vendors, Romain Berg’s straightforward, which creates trust. That’s important in a business relationship. We feel good about continuing to work with them.

There’s room for us to grow as the relationship continues but we’re on the right track.

Our numbers have climbed. We received three solid leads through their digital marketing efforts. We receive large jobs, so even one successful lead pays for the time and money spent on Romain Berg’s services. We’re right at the point where the amount of traffic’s sharply increasing. We’re impressed with the numbers that their team created.

I love the website and the fact that it includes a lot of good information. I also love their blog posts, which are well written and shine a good light on our company. By reading their blogs, I’ve honestly learned more about my business.

They manage the project well. However, I could’ve used more insight into how to read the dashboard, which featured all of these numbers that I didn't know how to read. I called a meeting for them to explain our progress because we don’t look at the dashboard continuously.

They’re a personable team. When we need them, their team’s available to answer us. Once they get around to it, they explain concepts well. The fact that their team’s down the street from us also makes a huge difference.

If there’s one point for feedback, it’s to be in contact more frequently and update us on how they view the project. It would be helpful to have regularly scheduled meetings to review what’s been accomplished over the past month. We could use more transparency into what they’ve actually done.

Romain Berg took on a niche business and provided success. If they can take us on, their team will probably do well with any business.

Communication is very good. We use email, phone, text, and other methods as needed. It always feels like someone is working for us because they touch base almost daily. It is refreshing.

With the new construction of apartment buildings, you have a set opening day. The hardest thing to do is to fill the building during that initial time. With brand new apartment buildings, we advertise about four months before we open.

The challenge in the industry is getting the building full by the opening day. There are a lot of people you have to do showings with. We needed leads — people who were interested in the apartments — and we needed to create complex audiences that our ads would reach. We also needed general marketing and branding.

Every year, they’ve increased lead numbers. On a scale of 1–10, they’d be a 10.5. I’ve collaborated with other agencies before, but only Romain Berg has delivered the results I was looking for. They’re constantly creating content that brings people to the website.

Jennifer is very hands-on and I appreciate her a lot. Sam and Brian are always looking to improve the following year, so they look into how to change things to bring in more leads. They’re progressive thinkers; they present new ideas that work. They’re a step ahead of our competitors, which is very important in a competitive business like ours.

The service is very good. They’re always available. We talk regularly, but we also set up monthly meetings to make sure we’re all caught up and things are happening the way they’re supposed to.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Dollar for dollar, Romain Berg provides better results. They’re very forthcoming about the timeline and they’re thorough in their research. I really appreciate their honesty, It’s hard to find a partner with integrity. When things go wrong, they’re easy to communicate with and they pivot to make things right.

Are there any areas they could improve?

That’s a hard one because I’m happy with their services. Sometimes they get busy with other accounts, and I don’t hear back for 24–48 hours, but that happens sometimes and I take that into consideration. Other than that, they’re on the ball and they normally respond within a few hours to an email or text.

Communication is the most important thing. If you don’t know how to communicate, then you’re not going to get the results you want.

I’m an associate at Club E, helping more on the administrative side. Since COVID-19 began, we’ve been doing livestream events with guest speakers on different subjects. I’ve been helping to find speakers and get some of the backend stuff done. When we get back to normal, I’ll be helping to run those events.

They’ve pretty much taken over our marketing side of things. Our group didn’t have a digital presence until COVID-19; it was all in-person. The Club E team had been just a partner and me prior to Romain Berg coming in. Neither of us has the greatest digital marketing minds. We’d had a lot of success doing other things in the past with them, so we reached out, and they luckily agreed to partner with us on that.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Romain Berg is completely redoing our website. It had been built in 2007 and really needed a facelift. They’re handling design and development. We’ve done the wireframes and design, and the new site will be launched soon. It’ll encompass the full picture of how we did things in-person, emulating that for our digital presence. Romain Berg really helped navigate that, and they made it simple for us to livestream our events to YouTube and Facebook at the same time.

They also helped us set up a more strategic content marketing approach. As of last week, we have podcasts available. They really helped us realize that the content we’re creating can be used in an omnichannel fashion, and we’re leveraging that to grow the brand. They’re also managing our email marketing and content creation.

We have 7–8 people on their team, primarily Sam (Partner & COO), Brian (Partner), Craig (Director of Client Strategy), and Tucker (Digital Marketing Specialist). Those are the people we meet with on a regular basis, and they have other team members helping with content creation and social media management and growth. We meet with the whole team on a biweekly basis.

My partner had known Brian for a couple of years prior to me joining him at Club E. Romain Berg had helped with the digital marketing side of things for a couple of capital firms, and they did a great job with that. It was a natural fit when COVID-19 forced us to completely change our business model. It was a no-brainer for us to switch to them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve had a lot of success with our livestreaming, and we’re seeing growing numbers of live attendees. Our social pages have all had triple-digit growth since COVID-19 began, and that’s helping to accelerate community growth.

In terms of what my partner and I were expecting, Romain Berg has really blown those expectations out of the water. They’ve been a great partner. They’re pioneering the growth plan for Club E. 

In terms of KPIs, our LinkedIn page started pretty low, at around 60 followers in March 2020. We’re pushing the 320 range now. Our YouTube channel had about 25 subscribers, and we’re about to push the 500 mark, so there’s been some great growth there. Our open rates have increased from an average of 15% to mid-to-high 20s now. Click-through rates are also going up.

We’re still offering our livestreaming content for free, so there’s no revenue KPI attached to that. In terms of audience size, we started livestreaming in March 2020, and we were averaging 10–15 live viewers. Now, we generally have 45–60 viewers, and that’s approaching 100.

How did Romain Berg perform from a project management standpoint?

They use Basecamp as a client relationship management portal, and we’ve been introduced to this platform through them. They communicate efficiently, they’re task-oriented, and they set precise timelines. If we send something in on Sunday at noon, we’ll have a response by Sunday at 2 p.m. They’re workhorses.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’ve really helped us open our eyes to a new vision of what Club E could be. Prior to them coming on and really switching to the digital side for our events, there was a big geographical barrier to the reach that we could have. Right away, they painted the picture of what it could be, and we’re 100% bought into that. It’s fun to see the milestones we set along the way being hit, and we’re excited about the future of our work together.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They do like setting big, hairy, audacious goals. The 1–2-year plan is rock-solid in that we can connect the dots; it’s just a matter of refining the 5–10-year goals to mix in a bit better. At the end of the day, no one has a crystal ball to see that far into the future.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

The client should know what they want to get out of the partnership going into it. Romain Berg can’t read minds. They’ll help us reach the goal we want to reach, but we have to know that goal. They can suggest what they think it should be, but, if the full team isn’t bought into the goal, we’re spinning tires and not moving.
