We contracted 69Pixel to work with us to completely redesign our platform from the ground up. Our goal was to take the learnings from our MVP and create and easy UI/UX that addressed all previous user feedback, and could scale to the needs of our users in the future.

We approached 69pixels. to get some help from them on the design side, and guys assisted us on various directions:

1. since we were creating a game development school from scratch, we didn’t have any proper naming and branding, so guys helped us with forming catchy and speaking naming and branding;
2. also, we required assistance on the website creation, because although our school is an offline, digital presence is really important here.

To be honest, we didn’t have even a second thought that we would need to hire someone else, because when the question of design was raised on our internal meeting, several people at once. mentioned 69pixels.

I would like to say that it was comfy to work with 69: they seemed to understand all our struggles and visualize our ideas into a self-sustained design. Right now we do have a style and we stand out.

As a first stage, we started with naming and logo creation. We know 69 does not work with the content part and it’s not a marketing agency, but while brainstorming on the logo, some interesting word combinations came up, and we liked them a lot. In parallel, guys were working on the website. They helped us to know our potential pupils better and understand their pain points, how they think, and what they feel. We had our users’ portraits, and, based on that, we managed to work out an appealing structure for the website that was aimed to help each category of users to find answers to all their questions and make sure that xLab is the school where you can get the best applied and practical knowledge to kick off your path in game dev.

We got a detailed specification from 69, and the team started working on prototyping, making syncs several times a week to track the progress and get our feedback. They created several design concepts, and proceeded to the website design, creating responsive versions and a UI kit for the development team; Another part is branding – guys have managed to prepare a stunning brand book and all the branding materials. What was really pleasant and appealing is that they helped us with print preparation on request – it was quick, easy, and nice. We simply knew that 69pixels. Are always there for us, and if we needed any additional support or small modifications, or additional items, they were super responsive on those matters.

At different stages of the project, we had from 2 to 3 designers involved, and also we had an art director and a project manager working with us tightly. What’s surprising, when we had calls with the new designers that were helping with small side tasks, it seemed that they were fully onboarded to the project, so personally, I had a feeling that I have my own design department who cheer for XLab and its future.

The biggest accomplishment is that the school was launched: we have our unique style and name that matches our culture and approach to sharing knowledge. We do already have student flows, constantly increasing number of applications for training, because there is a stunning website, and there are happy students who enjoy the learning process. We were moving really quickly with 69pixels., we listened to each other and managed to form a working live organism that was constantly creating value – to my mind, this is the key to success.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

All the team members that were working with us were fully onboarded and understood us with half a word. Guys were super responsive and creative, they followed the time-frames they proposed, and helped us with defining priorities to launch the website as soon as possible. I’m not too tech-y person, but I knew that real professionals are next to me and that they would be able to explain all the complicated things in an easy and clear manner. We used Skype for communication, but from time to time switch to Telegram. I enjoyed this collaboration.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Creativity, passion, interest, and level of involvement. They are true professionals who can cover different areas of design (either web or graphic), and their solutions and ideas are very long-playing and reliable; it seems that these solutions work like a clock because true experts worked them out. 69 always worked with our feedback; we had a real discussion and created a lot of ideas together.

No. I think they’re really great at what they’re doing.

69 pixels. was hired by our gaming studio to design and develop a corporate web-site. The aim of cooperation was to adhere to a strict design, but add some animations and gamification at the same time.

We searched for a good UX/UI design agency, 69pixels. was highly recommended by our collegues as a reliable company with cool cases and a nice team.

The team performed intensive research and analitycs with a variety of references and examples of patterns, next stages were wireframing and the design itself. After the design was approved, the team moved to adaptive versions of the pages and the development of the web-site.

We are pleased with 69pixels.' outputs very much. They've provided valuable guidance at each stage and we loved the style of the website at once. It is undoubtedly an example of a strict and corporate style, but at the same time the authenticity of the game studio is preserved — exactly as we asked.

The work consisted of both design and development so the team managed responsibilities to support an effective and flexible partnership and sustained engagement. We can characterize them as reliable and communicative and plan to continue cooperation in future.

I’m Nikita, Project Manager at GamePad, I’m responsible for managing the project & deadlines. GamePad is a social gaming platform inside Telegram. We create real games with graphics written in HTML5 inside of the Telegram app, so you do not have a need to leave the application itself.

We were looking for some help with our mobile app, and pieces of advice on the general workflow of the application we had in mind. That is why we got in touch with 69pixels. team and started with the discussion of the UX part of the app. We were really impressed by the first steps in our discussions, so with any hesitations, we decided that we would like to work with these guys.

After productive cooperation on the mobile app, we carry on working on various tasks for marketing and content departments and from time to time come back with the requests for improvements in the design of the application.

69pixels. are a well-known design studio in Belarus; some of the products they were designing took Golden Kitty Awards on ProductHunt, and we’re also aiming to this field. Some of my colleagues were also working with 69pixels. and we’d heard good feedback on the working processes, quality of work, and approach. We knew that we wanted to work with professionals.

We’ve started with the review of the documentation and exchange of questions. As soon as we reviewed the documentation, the team provided us with the estimate for design and some recommendations on the UX improvements based on the research they had made. Then we moved forward to the prototyping stage. We were moving step by step on small iterations, constantly discussing solutions and ideas.

After the prototypes were finished, the design team prepared for us a mood board with UI solutions to give an idea about the UI part of the app. We stopped on the desired style and direction and gradually started working on the UI of the app. 69pixels. team supported us during the development process and carried a design review after software development sharing feedback on the layout.

As for the marketing tasks, we reach out to guys with technical requirements, designers or Project Manager shares with us questions or concerns they have and after everything’s clear, guys take tasks into work.

While we were working on the mobile app, we had a team of 2 designers and a Project Manager from their side. Also, we had a chance to work with motion designer Ruden and several designers on marketing tasks.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Everything was ready at the estimated timeframes. The design team was always proactive and tried to find optimal solutions on the timing not forgetting about the quality. We’ve got more users in our app and the number of gameplays per person has increased significantly increased. Our marketing materials got positive feedback from our audience and potential investors. We’re happy with the results.

Communication and responsiveness were on a high level. We were connected via Telegram with the management team (Project Manager and Art Director who was actively participating in discussions and shared his vision).

We’ve also made calls in Zoom that were scheduled as soon as possible to discuss the design, working process, and so on. From time to time we also held personal meetings with the design team and project manager.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What we liked the most about working with 69pixels., apart from their vast design experience and professionalism, is the customized nature of their work. They listened to us and tried to understand the nature of our requests, as well as the nature of our users.

As a result, we got a great working product that was exactly what we’d been expecting to get.

It seems to be a trick question. We’re planning to catty on working together in the future, so maybe one day, some flaws can be detected. But as for now, we’re fully satisfied with our cooperation and the outcomes we’re getting from 69pixels.
