The idea was to build an app that is for both iOS and android mobile platforms. The scope of the App includes the functionality of providing the Pharmacy products to the end users, where they place their orders, track their orders, whilst the Admin has the functionality to upload and manage products alongside user analytics. The technologies that were used to build this platform are .Net and ReactNative for backend and frontend, respectively.

The team included 6-7 people. It consisted of a net resource, front-end developer for mobile app , Project manager and a quality assurance manager.

The mobile app helped patients learn about their disease and access to drug information. We gathered quite positive responses from many patients that were able to use our mobile app. Patients’ understanding regarding their medication resulted in timely drug intakes and improved patient overall health and quality of life. An improvement in DPR (doctor–patient relationship) and PVR (Patient -Pharmacist relationship) was also observed after the launch of our mobile app.

It was an enterprise solution that was used in all the major specialties like Diabetes, Gyne & Obs, Bariatric surgery, Rheumatology, etc. First the web based platform was created and then the mobile applications. After that integrations of Telemedicine, webconferencing and devices were done. Analytics was added at a later stage.

The project was successfully executed within King Saud University, which is the oldest and largest university in the kingdom. It was also published providing evidence that connected health / remote patient monitoring works to engage, educate, empower, monitor and treat patients effectively in less resources while keeping patinets away from hospitals saving cost, time & resources.

Our teams had a very seamless & effective communication & coordination with an approach to addressing and solving issues in a timely manner. DigiTrends' team was very proactive and willingly handled extra work, which was not included in the scope and SRS.

The company is led by the top management which believes in developing relationships with its clients which go beyond the current projects. Their willingness to help and support, even for issues and tasks which were not included in the scope, was exceptional which showed that they believe in solving problems for their clients.

Plus, their previous endeavors with other pharmaceutical companies like Meiji and GSK have made them quite well known in the industry for providing a technological solution for pharma-related concerns. Their command over technology, software, and Drupal technology primarily, became the choosing factor for us. They had the resources and experience required, thus, we choose Digitrends for this project

We required mini websites for three of our products. They were required to be:

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

This project proved to be quite influential for our firm. The efficiently designed and developed websites about our products helped consumers greatly. When a customer knows what they need they don’t take long to attain it and that’s what these mini websites did. Physicians were able to access the detail regarding these 3 products whenever they liked irrespective of their location. This project was a global initiative as well and helped Bayers pharmaceutical raise product awareness.

The project was delivered on time and each step was communicated between us and Digitrends without a delay. Their project manager gave us every detail constantly while the developers worked on our mini websites.

I would highly recommend Digitrends for their advanced digital solutions and innovative ideas to digitalize the healthcare sector. We required the unique Drupal technology framework, which seemed harder to reach in Pakistan. However, Digitrends, with its wide range of services and high-tech solutions made the process easier to achieve. While working with them, their punctuality and attitude towards the project only strengthened our views for them.

I can’t think of any improvements required related to the project. Bayer pharmaceuticals wish Digitrends luck for their future ventures and look forward to working with them on more projects in near future

During COVID outbreak, all the face to face engagement were restrained, therefore, it was quite difficult for us to engage the doctors. Hence, we hired Digitrends to produce a web-based game to educate and engage the doctors online. This gaming experience was case based patient stories which was quite beneficial for us to provide a learning experience to the doctors virtually.

We ran an RFP through which we discovered Digitrends. During our initial meetings in the process of choosing the suitable digital agency for our project, we were informed that Digitrends has a team of doctors who will assist in preparing cases.

After developing the cases, the software professionals converted the real time cases into a game-based learning platform. Thus, Digitrends provided us 2-in-1 solution where customized medical information was disseminated through engaging gamification platform. .

Novartis required an online web-based platform, a highly responsive website that can manage the engagement of 100 HCPs at a given time. We required the game to be designed for a web page and not a mobile app to run a virtual game Once the moderator would initiate, all doctors could interact and play with ease, whilst learning new medicinal information and case-related data.

Unity 3D was used to design the system. Multiple cases of product indications were curated which were related to Pain management, Dentistry, ENT, Arthritis etc. Fictional cases were made with voiceovers and animated assistance to provide originality and enhance user experience.

The gamification provided an end to end engagement experience to the group of doctors who were glued until the end of the game. A score board was generated in the end providing a sense of achievement to the professionals while keeping them in touch with the latest medical data.

Through the Novartis gaming experience, we were able to engage more than 1500 HCPs in multiple engagement session across the country. The fun engagement motivated the doctors to keep themselves in the loop of medicinal study; especially during the days when they were unable to attend face to face learning sessions. These sessions also gave them an opportunity to interact and discuss the cases within themselves after the end of the game.

Digitrends has the speciality in managing communication via contemporary project management tools. This assisted in managing the software workflow with ease. They met all the deadlines and kept a thorough check on all the deliverables during our interaction.

Digitrends provided a guided path for our vision and followed along till the end. Digitrends holds a unique capability of mastering the software technicality alongside the medical intricate detailing. During Covid, doctors were required to conduct video conferencing for their patients’ appointments. Although we could use tools like Skype/Zoom, the problem was the patient medical record management. There was no way to keep record of prescriptions, the connectivity was choppy at times and we were unable charge our patients

The Project contained the following: An integrated model through which the Physician may manage his/her calendar with appointment slots and availability. Physician is able to invite patients who may then download the App. Patient would automatically be assigned the respective Physician and can book appointments on the available slots. Patient may also pay through the app, and do video conferencing via telemedicine. Furthermore, test/lab results would also be available in the EMR.

The system allows the patient to schedule follow ups. The entire Medical history is maintained in the system and is at Physician’s disposal to treat the patient.

We are a science led global health care company helping out millions of people by discovering and innovating medicine for global health care. I was positioned as a Senior Project Manager at GSK Pakistan (pharmaceuticals) leading technology and innovation at the company.

As a global pharmaceuticals leader we are continuous on the urge of extensive but precise research. The project initiated back in 2010 when mobile application development was rare and it was difficult to find a company with the right experiences and knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry.

A detailed research report was published in favor of our company, however we wanted to showcase selected research material to our doctors via a mobile application.

An application had to be developed on a Symbian platform. In the same application we were looking forward to integrate Yellow pages for Doctors, Medical risk calculator for Cardiologist (VTE), and branding for our product by the name of Arixtra®.

DigTrends was not only able to deliver the mobile application on multiple mobile platforms but was able to create a user friendly and responsive mobile application on multiple Symbian platforms. The mobile application has all the deliverable integrated which were easy to navigate.

DigiTrends has a mixed blend of experience and new blood in the team. The results were outstanding. They were able to bring in the extensive technical development experience and think out of the box at the same time. Their communication was up to the mark and they were able to deliver more than we have asked for.

The most impressive attribute of the company was that even though they belonged form a different industry they were able to cater and understand the complexity, culture, value and expectations of the pharmaceutical industry. They were well versed with the details and they knew what was asked for and how effectively it can be delivered.

Our goal was to be able to track exactly what was shown to the doctors as the KPI for Medicals Rep wouldn’t be measured any other way.

We picked DigiTrends to come up with a solution through which the Admin would know what was exactly shown to the doctors and how engaging the session had been. Subsequently, the implemented solution would allow us to calculate the engagement (timeframe on each slide/content, tracking of which slides were shown, and whether the physician showed interested or not).

The challenge was to build an app which may have all the approved content but the rep can pick and choose the slides and show only relevant information to the doctor.

DigiTrends is all about communication. Their approach is comforting and due to an agile approach we had no issues in making any changes at any stage of the product. Their technical team was always on their toes whether it is timely delivery of the product or a technical solution.

DigiTrends was impressive in all aspects. They were not able to impress us as company but also the end users (Doctors and Sales Reps) as they built a user friendly app where both users were able to grasp on it without any technical training.
