What challenge were you trying to address with 3P Development?

We were trying to create a platform for artists and music producers. The app would allow them to like and create original music content straight from a smartphone.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We relied on 3P Development for development, and the only thing we helped provide was design. They did design as well, but I went back and forth with artwork. Although the app is for everyone to have fun with, our target audience is artists and producers in the music industry or people pursuing that career. We built Android, iOS, and web-based platforms. Maggie oversaw the whole project, and we also worked with a designer and other people from 3P Development. Right now, we’re on a re-phase of the app—it’s like we’re building a new app even though it’s the same one.

How did you come to work with 3P Development?

I was looking for an app developer for two years. Although I hired one before, the company went bankrupt. Luckily, I got my money back before that happened. I came to know of 3P Development just from a friend of a friend. He knew them and introduced me to them. It just took off from there. Honestly, I didn’t really know if they were going to be the right fit for me. It was a gamble. Since they are overseas, anybody could tell you anything they want. The experience I had with them was top-notch from day one, from development to business. Their pricing was drastically lower than what other companies charged, without sacrificing quality. I couldn’t be happier.

How much have you invested with 3P Development?

It came out to $25,000 per version for a total of over $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The new version started in April 2016, and it’s wrapping up right now.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

In the first year, we got about 30,000 downloads. The total over two years is now crossing 50,000. We have nothing but great feedback on its design and functionality. It’s all top-notch. Everyone is pleased with the app’s design. It doesn’t look homemade but more like a big production.

How did 3P Development perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re fluent in English. Sometimes, you got to ask them once or twice because you might not understand a word here or there, but it’s nothing you can’t handle. They go out of their way for me because it’s an eight-hour difference in time zones. If I want to talk at 9 AM, and it’s closing over there in their time, they will even talk to me from the house. They make sure it gets done because I can’t wake up at 1 AM to talk to them over there at their time. We used whatever I felt comfortable with to communicate—email, Skype, WhatsApp, Viber. Everything we do is over the phone. I never had an issue with contacting them or them getting back to me. It’s almost 24 hours on the clock with them—you could email them at any time.

They are very true to the schedule, stick to the deadlines, and are always available. Actually, the app could have been done faster. We had a four-month plan to finish, but design held us up because I was particular about it. Even though it took longer than it should have, I never felt rushed either. They never pressured me because it was going over the deadline. They wanted to make sure that we were happy with what we got, which was great.

What did you find most impressive about 3P Development?

We were impressed with their accessibility. Even with our time difference, I can email them at any time and get a response in a couple of hours. They’re always on it and bend over backward to get it done.

Are there any areas 3P Development could improve?

With my company and for me, I don’t really see anything. They check off all criteria for me. I’m very pleased with them.

What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with 3P Development?

Their pricing and customer service are excellent. With those two things, what else can you ask for?
