What challenge were you trying to address with Inventcolabs?

My application didn’t function according to my needs, and I wanted to change the design, so I engaged Inventcolabs to redesign and redevelop the application.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Inventcolabs has worked on the back- and frontend of our shopping application. To avoid redesigning the entire application, we’ve saved the original data and code, and the team has made small adjustments to improve the backend functionality. They’ve rebuilt our dashboard in AWS and redesigned most of the frontend. Additionally, they’ve revamped our retail feature so users can purchase products from multiple stores under one basket.

The application is compatible with iOS and Android and enables users to purchase products from our famous retailer partners. On the other hand, users can elect our personal shopping option if they want to purchase products from stores outside our retail partnerships. 

Users who employ our personal shopping option can upload a picture of their desired product or their entire shopping list. Then, our team searches for their desired products and sends offers to the user detailing the product, where they found it, and the price. At that point, users can decide to approve the product, in which case, our team purchases it for them.

I found Inventcolabs on LinkedIn. We messaged about the project for a few months, and once I felt comfortable moving forward, I engaged their services.

The team has exceeded my expectations by designing a product based on my specific needs, down to the last detail. They’ve given me exactly what I asked for; I’ve never experienced this level of finesse. They’ve listened to me throughout each stage, which has led to an effective, successful partnership.

Inventcolabs created a mobile app for us for Android and iOS using Flutter. They started by giving us a whole document with the timeline and what we could expect of the product they were about to build. For two years, our app crashed constantly, and we wasted money because our previous developer wasn’t good. We recently searched for new developers for our mobile app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Inventcolabs provides us with mobile app development. They’ve taken over our app and have redeveloped it. Our iOS app has been launched, and we’re currently waiting for the Android release. 

Within the app, customers can order what they want or need, and we deliver it. The app also supports our open cart policy where, if a customer wants to buy something that isn’t in our app, we can find it for them, buy it, and deliver it to them.

Inventcolabs' work is great. Now, the application is finally working well after two years of waiting, and we can finally get back to work. We just relaunched the iOS app yesterday, so we're about to start measuring metrics again. Additionally, their pricing is good, and their team has good people.

They've provided us with a milestone list with the budget, and they meet deadlines accurately. We communicate through Zoom, WhatsApp, and email. They always have a prompt reply when we ask them something, and they contact us constantly.

What challenge were you trying to address with Inventcolabs?

We have storage lockers throughout our city, and we needed an app to bring all of that together and give customers a comfortable and easy UX to book their locker and manage their orders seamlessly.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Inventcolabs provides us with mobile app development and web development. Initially, they were working on one mobile app. Then, I got an idea for another app, and we’ve put the first project on hold to focus on the second. For the second app, they first provided a scope with a timeline, cost associated, features, modules, the phases we should expect based on our requirements, and the technologies to be used. I gave them details of our business model and what I wanted the UX to be. 

From there, they began building the app for iOS and Android from scratch. The app allows users to book storage lockers and manage their orders; they can extend, cancel, swap, or share the locker with someone else. Customers can also manage items revolving around bicycles and find relevant products and services.

Although the app has been the main deliverable, Inventcolabs has also developed a promotional website with a few pages to give customers an idea of the features. The site walks users through registering, updating their profiles, and accessing items. Additionally, it contains our terms and conditions and privacy policy. 

What is the team composition?

Initially, I worked with the business development manager and the project leader. Now, I deal mainly with a project manager, and now and then, I deal with the business development manager for any required changes. 

How did you come to work with Inventcolabs?

I found them online, requested a consult, and got a call from their business development manager. We had an initial discussion where I told Inventcolabs our idea and what I expected from the app. They captured all of that information in a clear and structured way. Even though I looked at a few other companies, I chose Inventcolabs, not based on price or their portfolio, but on their understanding of the project, which was very important to me.

So far, we’ve spent $20,000. There’s an additional $5,000 for updates that I will be paying them in the next few weeks.

I’m very happy with the quality of Inventcolabs’ work, their staff, and their dedication to the project. The last thing I’d want to hear from a service provider is that they’re unavailable, and this team is available 24/7. They always answer our requests and concerns, so I’m comfortable with the engagement.

We measure their success based on the budget, the timeline, and flexibility with changes to the scope, and I’m happy with Inventcolabs’ performance in all three. They’ve stuck to the initial budget; there haven’t been any hidden fees. The team also respects and adheres to the timeline, and I receive weekly or daily updates depending on the importance of the milestone. Their team is also very flexible with changes. Since this is my first app, we both knew there were some things I may not have considered in the scope, and they’ve accommodated that within reason. 

How did Inventcolabs perform from a project management standpoint?

They use Asana for project management. However, since I’m always on the go, it’s easier for me to pick up the phone or send a WhatsApp message to get updates. The team has accommodated my requirements while keeping their project management approach in check; Asana is constantly updated, and they also update me through the phone. We use Zoom whenever we have something important to discuss. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate that my discussions with Inventcolabs add value to the project. They don’t sit around listening to my requirements; they’re fully immersed in the idea and give suggestions and recommendations. The initial scoping exercise was important to find certain elements I had overlooked. The only reason I picked up on these was thanks to my discussion with the Inventcolabs team. Even though they weren’t the cheapest or the ones with the most extensive portfolio, their added value gave me the confidence to go with them from the start.

Everyone can improve, but I can’t think of anything the team needs to change at the moment.

The most important thing is the scoping exercise; as long as you give it its fair importance, you’ll have relatively smooth sailing with Inventcolabs. Spend the time discussing the app’s features with the business development team, and then read the scope document word for word to ensure a successful engagement.

I hired Inventcolabs for development of a Deal Application. The idea was to offer local business deals to the mobile app users on the go which can connect business and their possible prospects.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Trust, Transparency & sticking to commitment were the deciding factors for me this time. I already tried various providers globally, hence I was looking for someone who do have business experience and can consider this project as their own. Inventco’s brand has been established in a way that their product itself speaks about their quality. I even asked for various references and I spoke with them to be assured that I am selecting the right factor.

So they developed a Deal Shaking experience that has Mobile Phone & Watch compatible applications. The solution gives you local nearby deals based on your current location. The interesting feature was to shake your phone or your watch and a new deal will be unlocked for you. The had a clear approach mentioned from the day one and they followed it like bible at every step. That is what it makes them different. I was provided with well documented code files and all design stuff along with database diary I exclusively requested for.

I essentially worked with a team of 6-8. My original point of contact was Jitendra from business team. He is the Co-founder of the company. Then Sandeep from Project Management came into picture and there was a Team lead who developed the core of the project in Flutter. Creative head, tester & QA – they all came in at different stage of project. My most communication was through mails and weekly standup meeting.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

A well connected bug-less platform – that’s how I count the success of my investment. Indeed a great project and their suggestions exceeded my expectations with the platform. Highly impressed.

We followed Hybrid model of development i.e. Waterfall + Agile. Hence I had best of both worlds and I could define – further refine, my requirements at each stage to get the desired product. It went a bit elevated from cost perspective – but I am satisfied with the output. They used Slack for communication, Trello to check current development going on and Mantis for bug tracking.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I think their thrive and thirst to do something better made this company unique. I remember instances where even after my approval they went back stage and came up with something even more awe-inspiring. They are just a group of crazy, young people with hunger to success.

In the first place, looking at my overall experience – NO.

The app is available in Arabic and English. The English version is perfect, but we have to interfere a lot when it comes to the Arabic translation. Other than that, everything has been great.
