Since implementing SWOT's strategies on our campaigns, we managed to reach our targets as set at the beginning of the project. SWOT were very diligent in their method to reach the targets.

They were always available and responsive to our requests. Through weekly meetings and weekly reports prepared we were able to have full visibility of what is happening with our campaigns at all times.

I'd like it if they had more people working on the project, just to make sure we are examining all possible ideas and scenarios that might be brought on the table from different people with experience in the field.

We wanted to improve our online visibility in a very technical and niche area. Our goals move around a little, so we needed a supplier who could be agile to our needs. However, the underlying goal was to improve our rankings in key search terms and to run a paid search and display campaign on a relatively small budget, with a focus on awareness rather than conversions as our clients do not buy from a visit as more consumer focused companies would.

I had heard of SWOT Digital before and so I approached them with this project. I also approached a number of other suppliers to get a benchmark. SWOT Digital displayed their understanding of our needs and supplied a proposal and plan that met them. They were not the cheapest or the most expensive, but cost was not my key criteria.

I am an experienced digital marketer, so I knew what a good digital marketing agency should be planning and executing. So I also needed an agency that would work with me on that level rather than working in the dark and simply sending monthly reports. Overall, they were the agency that displayed the best knowledge to cost ratio and could work with us to meet our needs.

For SEO, the first task was to work on our on-site optimization, both technical and content. They carried out a site and content survey and we then agreed the action plan from there. Secondly, and most recently, we have begun an off-site content and backlinks campaign.

For PPC and Display, we started by running a test with a small PPC campaign as we were not sure how much engagement we would get for our sector. It delivered reasonable results and so we scaled up a little.

As we developed our on-site content in key subject areas we then began a targeted display campaign. SWOT Digital deliver their reporting and results through Google Data Studio, which is great and allows me to interrogate the data in a more meaningful way than a PDF report could. And where I need to see more detail I can jump into Analytics.

We initially worked directly with the owners as they are a relatively small team. However, as our project has grown in complexity they have introduced other team members who specialise in certain areas.

We have seen significant growth in targeted keyword rankings, with key content pages ranking higher than our major competitors, like Google, Amazon and Microsoft. This has allowed us to reach our goal of being seen as a major player in this sector and a definite consideration alongside these major competitors.

However, the most meaningful outcome is that when I started as Marketing Director the company received zero inbound enquiries, with all business generated through outbound sales activities. We now receive in excess of 15 to 20 (dependent on seasonality) qualified inbound enquiries per month.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It took a little time to work out how to best work together, but we now have a weekly planning call of about 1 hour, which works really well and aligns both sides on what we need to focus on next and any issues that need attention.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

For a small team, they pack quite a punch and cover a lot of ground. Most recently they started helping us with both on-site and off-site article creation, which is really unusual, but very helpful and welcome. But their openness and knowledge are really refreshing too.

I think having a more clearly defined structure for client engagement and management at the start would have been great and would have sped up our ramp up, but they embraced the challenge and we quickly found a solution.

In essence, we needed a sales wing, a marketing ethos and a presence in the marketplace. SEO, digital marketing, and an incredible on-note website were the tools that SWOT used.

The phone has started and continues to ring. We are amazed by the immediate responses to everything that SWOT implement for us. We are rising to the top in all of the search words that we focus on. We wanted a sales wing and we got one. The results are staggering. SWOT's activity delivers for us continuously.
