BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the owner of The Balkan Establishment, a cafe and grill in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast Australia.

For what projects/services did your company hire Zylon Software, and what were your goals?

I hired Zylon Software to develop a new website for my cafe and grill, with a brand marketing focus. The front-end included an interactive menu, dynamic events and custom contact functionality. Zylon Software built us a great back-end with full event and menu management, as well as the ability to edit open times on the fly. This is very useful for my staff. The ultimate goal was to automate things as much as possible and have a professional outlook toward potential customers, and they have delivered.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

When I was approached by Leon, the owner of Zylon Software, he fully invested a few hours into scoping my requirements and giving me ideas free of charge. This act of professionalism and ultimately the fair quote for the services made me choose to go with Zylon Software over other companies.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

I needed the entire design and development done from scratch, everything being custom. The key deliverables was a front end and a back end, as well as analytics tracking. The developers showed me that they used some new framework called VueJS to do everything on the front, as well as JavaScript in the back.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I primarily dealt with Leon who was the owner / software developer in the company, I know there was one other developer involved as well.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since launching the website, we have had an increase in patrons and enquiries about the events we host.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Our main contact Leon, was always available on the phone, on Microsoft Teams and by email, the entire project was finished before schedule and we primarily communicated the details via Teams.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Zylon Software strikes me as a transparent and fair company that invests resources into their clients, if I hired an outsourcing agency I would have known right away but Leon's communication was solid throughout.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Every requirement was ticked, even the ones we added later on, I would not change anything if I had to do the project again.
