Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner and operator of Kipuka Coffee & Plant House. We sell house plants, coffee, and we help care for sick and ill plants as well. We help diagnose plant problems and solve them for people who are taking care of them.

What challenge were you trying to address with Yilmaz Media Co. LLC?

We didn’t have a website, so we needed one. We knew we wanted some videos and business marketing as well, so we consulted the team for business marketing ideas.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Yilmaz Media Co. LLC developed our platform from scratch. They’ve also developed all the content for the site. He still manages our website and recently, they just shot another video for us.

They also provide consulting services for our social media marketing efforts, in channels such as Facebook and Instagram. We spoke to them and they have given me advice on how to reach people via social media platforms. Moreover, they’ve shared marketing ideas about how we can continue to increase the value of our products and more. 

What is the team composition?

Two people are working on our project — a developer and a digital marketing specialist.

How did you come to work with Yilmaz Media Co. LLC?

We met them at our church, so that was the connection that brought us to them. We thought they would be the best fit for us because of their eagerness to see our success. When I talked to them about the services they provide, I really felt that they were on my side. 

At that point, I knew that they would do everything they could do to help me succeed in any capacity. In addition, he was always available and certainly the biggest reason that we decided to go with him was that we trusted him to develop something great for us. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We probably started working together in July 2020, and the partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

There’s been an increase in our revenue and one of the big areas is an increase in satisfaction with our platform. A lot of our customer base uses the platform they've developed in order to learn more information about plants including how to care for them, where it came from, and other information.

I truly believe our increased revenue is also due to the fact that we offer a service that a lot of other people don’t offer in the area, but I don’t have any hard data to back that. 

How did Yilmaz Media Co. LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

They've been doing a great job. The team has finished within the amount of time that they’re supposed to get things done. We've communicated via FaceTime several times and through email too.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate that I can trust them. Their product looks phenomenal and they’re creative too. They’ve come up with multiple different ideas about how they can adjust our website to make it look better. They took the ideas I’ve had and expanded upon those and made an even better product. They’re really dedicated to giving me the best. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think off of anything on top of my head that they can improve. Overall, I’ve been very pleased with their services. Perhaps, they can have a bigger portfolio or template book, but he’s just developing his portfolio right now. In the end, I have nothing negative to say. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Come prepared as you can with what you have. Buckle up, and go get what you need to get things done. They will work for you, and when you tell them what you need, they’ll do it.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

My organization is Gregory Marcy Drafting and Design Services. We are an architectural drafting and design firm. I’m the owner of the company and it’s just me doing freelance design work. I also make all the decisions about marketing, and about half of what I do is for residential clients — people that want to add onto their house, build a house or renovate their kitchen and other areas. 

I help my clients design what they envision and draw up the documents for permits. Additionally, I also do other miscellaneous things such as surveying a building and putting it into AutoCAD, and sometimes I also provide them drawings.

What challenge were you trying to address with Yilmaz Media Co. LLC?

We’re friends and he informed me that he was trying to get into the video production business. He was also aware that I was in a position that I was ready to market my company more than I had been doing since it was mostly dependent on word of mouth. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

He created a 2-minute video that I could put out on the web that could explain my company and services. The video’s purpose was to act as a promotional video for my company. They finished it, but I haven’t deployed it since I’m still in the process of rebranding and reorganizing what I’ve got on the web.

We’re also set to reengage with Yilmaz Media Co. LLC on our website development needs. Once they finish building the website, the video would be featured there. We would show snippets from the video since it was too long to put on Instagram and highlight the key segments of it. We also plan to separate the parts from the videos they developed. 

What is the team composition?

I worked with Daniel (Co-Owner) and Michelle (Co-Owner).

How did you come to work with Yilmaz Media Co. LLC?

We were just sharing ideas and he told me that he would start a video company. Over the course of talking with him, it just seemed like a good fit. We also had similar ideas. I didn’t really shop around because I was more interested in our friendship, his ideas as a businessman, and how our visions aligned. 

How much have you invested with them?

I did not invest anything. This was a favor he did for me and my company, so there was no cost associated.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our partnership ran from July–November 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I really don’t have any metrics about the video they developed since it isn’t out yet. However, I showed the video to my wife and several other people and everybody gave me positive feedback about it.

How did Yilmaz Media Co. LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

The communication was great. A lot of it was just text and phone calls, which made it super easy. From a project management standpoint, they were very organized. I used to tell them to take it easy, but they insisted on marking dates in order to start filming — without being overbearing. He just really worked to get the result to come out. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their friendliness and the ease of working with them had been impressive. They were just low key, but they were professional and they made me feel comfortable. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Perhaps, they could have been more collaborative on the look of the actual video, taking my aesthetics into account would’ve been the only comment I have. There were just a couple of video shots when they were interviewing me and the background of the shot doesn’t exactly match the aesthetic that I was trying to portray — but that was a very minor quibble. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Do your homework and know how your company wants to be presented.
