What challenge were you trying to address with Xorbix Technologies, Inc.?

We needed support for the development and maintenance of our mobile app. Our goal was to develop a tool for our customers to help them validate their use of our products. We have a premium cheese product, but its benefit is that consumers don't need to use quite as much cheese per pie to get the most out of it. Thus, we wanted this tool to demonstrate that using our product didn't actually elevate their food costs.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Xorbix Technologies, Inc. manages the development and maintenance of our mobile app. The app is an information tool and a food cost calculator for our customers, and it's available for iOS and Android. The team has developed a real home screen operator, a resources page, and a push notification feature. The app was initially developed with another business partner.

I mainly work with Ross and Ryan.

Xorbix Technologies, Inc. had an existing relationship with us when I joined the company.

We’ve spent over $150,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with them in May 2022 when I joined the company, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since we started working with Xorbix Technologies, Inc. on the app, we’ve seen our downloads and users grow by around 100%.

How did Xorbix Technologies, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

The team has always come in on budget and time and made any changes I’ve requested. We have weekly communications when we have larger developments. The team always reaches out when times are slower to see if there’s anything they can work on. We use phone calls, emails, and documents to collaborate. Moreover, I make updates using Google Firebase. Xorbix Technologies, Inc. has helped me along the way, and they've been very understanding with someone who has no experience like me.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I’d like to give a shout-out to Ryan and Ross. Ryan is a whiz and gets everything done. Ross stays on top of any project we might have. They’ve both been super responsive and understand where I’m coming from. They’ve been helpful throughout the way and very good at providing updates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We have a limited budget, and still, they’ve made the most of the budget we’ve given them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything they could improve on.

Tell them what you want, and they’ll make it happen.

I'm the CEO and president of Sensia Tech. I'm also a physician, so I'm bringing to market an occupational health electronic medical record (EMR). This product is utilized by medical providers to provide healthcare services to businesses and their employees.

What challenge were you trying to address with Xorbix Technologies, Inc.?

My relationship with Xorbix has been ongoing for almost 10 years now. As a medical provider, I was providing services to corporate clients, and I was very frustrated with the software available at the time. Back then, my focus was predominantly on providing wellness services. However, I had utilized a couple of national service providers, and their software products were bad. Therefore, I decided to design and develop my own software product to use with my own clients.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Xorbix has developed my software and written all the code behind my product, and they now provide ongoing maintenance and customer support. Originally, their team was in charge of developing a software system to provide wellness services to corporate clients, using .NET as the technology stack.

Later, I was also frustrated with my EMR, as a lot of the EMRs in the market were not designed to service corporate clients. Therefore, I decided to expand the software Xorbix had created into the whole EMR market, implementing EMR capabilities. Throughout our engagement, we've matured the software we originally created. One of the most recent projects we've done has been adding AI capabilities to the software.

What is the team composition?

I've worked with 3–4 teammates from Xorbix on a regular basis, including Asif (Founder, President & CEO), Tom (CTO), and a couple of other developers who work with Tom and with whom I've also worked directly.

How did you come to work with Xorbix Technologies, Inc.?

Asif was actually the husband of one of my employees, so she introduced me to her husband, and we hit it off. We've been working with Asif ever since.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent around $300,000–$400,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with Xorbix in 2014, and we're still working with them. Our relationship has developed over time.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Although it is a long story, Xorbix's help has basically allowed me to sell my medical practice and retire from clinical practice. Over the last two years, I've dedicated my efforts strictly to my software. We're going to bring the software more aggressively to market during 2024.

Overall, Xorbix's work has been of very high quality. I'm not a software developer, but I've been very impressed with the software they've created.

How did Xorbix Technologies, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

We predominantly communicate via email. Typically, we get on a Zoom or Microsoft Teams call every two weeks to connect more formally, but I can interact with anyone from their team via email at any time. Whenever I give them an idea or something to work on, it takes Xorbix a couple of weeks to think it through, do the development work, implement it in the system, and show it to me.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I would like to give a shout-out to Tom. He dictates to his team how the services are to be offered and provided.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The functionality of the software Xorbix has created is the most impressive part of our engagement. The software is very user-friendly and comprehensive. Other medical software pieces I've used are very difficult to navigate, but mine is very straightforward. Additionally, I would highlight the fact that Xorbix has been able to deliver AI development services. Thanks to them, we've been able to bring very intriguing services to the market.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although this might be true for their entire industry, Xorbix could use more employees; they're a growing business. However, I know that finding quality staff is challenging, especially in the software industry.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Have a very good idea of what you want to develop so that you come to the table with strong parameters and experience. That way, the developers will take that and make your dream a reality. From the start, I had a good sense of what I wanted to develop, and Xorbix did a great job bringing that to reality.
