We hired WP Tangerine to redesign our website and to support ongoing WordPress development, updates, and maintenance across multiple areas of our website. The project scope included implementing technical SEO updates, publishing blog content, creating and managing dynamic listing pages, troubleshooting backend issues, and adhering to detailed formatting and copy standards. Deliverables were expected to be completed on tight timelines with accuracy, following written instructions and video training provided by our internal team. Key deliverables included live listing pages for businesses, weekly blog publishing, plugin and backend configuration, and timely resolution of technical issues affecting client-facing areas of the site.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Unfortunately, the project did not yield the measurable outcomes we expected. Instead of streamlining our processes, we encountered persistent errors, missed deadlines, and inconsistent quality that required significant oversight and correction by our internal team. We incurred additional costs to resolve backend issues and experienced disruption to live client workflows. Despite multiple attempts to course-correct and detailed documentation provided to their team, the lack of follow-through ultimately outweighed any progress made.

Project management was a consistent challenge throughout the engagement. While WPT offered a ticketing system for task submissions, deliverables were frequently delayed, deadlines were missed, and urgent requests were often not acknowledged or completed in a timely manner. Communication was slow and inconsistent, requiring repeated follow-ups to receive updates or corrections. Despite providing clear instructions, documentation, and video training, many tasks were not completed as specified, resulting in additional internal workload and client-facing issues. Overall, responsiveness and reliability fell short of professional expectations.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

While our overall experience was not positive, WPT did offer a wide range of website-related services under one umbrella, which initially seemed promising. Unfortunately, the task management system was not efficient, and the execution did not match the potential of the model. The breadth of services they claimed to provide was a key reason we chose them, but in practice, the delivery was inconsistent and required far more oversight than expected.

Are there any areas for improvement or something WP Tangerine could have done differently?

Yes, several areas need improvement. Most critically, WP Tangerine should focus on quality control and accountability—errors were frequent and often repeated, even after being pointed out. Improved internal communication and clearer task ownership would likely reduce missed deadlines and client frustration. Their support team also needs to respond more promptly and follow through on escalations with transparency and urgency. Lastly, when service delivery does not meet promised standards, a fair resolution process—including honoring refund requests—should be part of their client care model.
