Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

The project covered migrating our operational database from Airtable to Postgres (Supabase). Widle designed the relational schema, migrated the data and file attachments, and set up incremental syncing between Airtable and Supabase so both systems stayed current during the transition. On top of the new database, they built a set of internal apps in Retool for our team. The engagement wrapped with written handoff documentation so our team can build on the work.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our full operational database was migrated from Airtable to Postgres, including around 1,300 file attachments, with incremental syncing keeping both systems current throughout the transition. All five project milestones were completed and approved. The internal apps built during the engagement are now in daily use by our team, and the project closed with complete handoff documentation, giving our team a clean foundation to build on.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

The engagement was structured around clear milestones, and each one was delivered and approved before moving to the next. Communication was consistently strong: clear status updates, honest about timing when life came up, and always came to review calls prepared with a plan rather than open questions. When we brought feedback or new requirements, they were incorporated quickly and without friction. It was a smooth, well-run project from kickoff through handoff.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out most was how well they understood the shape of our business, not just the technical ask. Our Airtable had years of operational logic baked into it, and they translated that into a clean relational schema without losing the nuance. The other thing worth noting is how they finished: documentation, syncing verified, a proper walkthrough. Plenty of contractors start well. Finishing well is rarer, and that's what stuck with us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Widle could have done differently?

Very little, honestly. There was a stretch mid-project where communication slowed and we had to check in to get realigned, though scope had also shifted on our end around that time, so it wasn't all on them. Once we reconnected, things got back on track quickly and the transparency was appreciated. If I'm reaching: earlier proactive updates during quieter weeks would have helped. It didn't affect the final result.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Surani and his team played a pivotal role in digitally transforming our company, positioning us for scalable growth. They began by normalizing a chaotic backlog of Google Sheets and converting them into a well-structured PostgreSQL database. From there, they developed custom applications that streamlined and organized our hiring process, making it more efficient and user-friendly. Their expertise not only improved our workflows but also set the foundation for integrating future technologies seamlessly. Thanks to their efforts, our company is now equipped to handle increased demands with confidence.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Ever since we began our digital transformation journey, we’ve been able to automate and scale in ways we never imagined possible with our old Google Sheets system. The Retool platform has proven to be remarkable, and Surani’s mastery of Retool development is nothing short of exceptional. I’ve hired many Upwork engineers in the past, but Surani’s speed, communication, and ability to deliver consistently stand out.

Application development is a collaborative process—it’s not as simple as saying, “Do this,” and expecting a perfect outcome. It requires a talented engineer like Surani and his team at Wilde, coupled with a dedicated internal team member who can clearly articulate desires and objectives. Together, this dynamic enabled us to achieve outstanding results that have revolutionized how we operate.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Wilde was incredibly quick to respond and took the time to explain things thoroughly. They were the first engineering team I worked with who genuinely wanted to teach us how Retool works and helped us understand the full potential of the platform. His development speed is exceptional, consistently exceeding expectations. While it's hard to define "on time" in the context of an ever-evolving system, I can confidently say that everything was completed as quickly as I could have imagined. His dedication and efficiency made a significant impact on our project.

• Virtual Meeting
• Email or Messaging App

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their mastery of Retool is truly outstanding, showcasing an impressive depth of expertise. Their communication and willingness to explain complex concepts in an approachable way are exceptional, making the process seamless and collaborative. I’m consistently amazed by their creativity and the speed at which they deliver results. They don’t just solve problems—they find innovative solutions that often exceed expectations. Working with them has been a game-changer, and their dedication to excellence truly sets them apart.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Widle could have done differently?

Short of mind-reading capabilities, I have been thoroughly impressed. As I mentioned before, software development is a two-way street—you can’t simply say, “Do this,” and expect a flawless outcome. Achieving desired goals requires clear and thorough communication. If anything was lacking in the process, it was likely my own lack of specificity rather than any shortcomings on their part.
