Custom frontend development using modern JavaScript frameworks connected via Shopify's Storefront API. Development of custom middleware to facilitate secure, bi-directional data syncing between the store checkout and external warehouse management software. Custom subscription checkout workflows built to handle recurring billing rules. Cross-browser and device QA testing across staging and pre-production environments. Post-launch technical documentation and code handover for our internal development staff.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was completed successfully and deployed according to our release schedule. Following the launch, page load speeds dropped noticeably across mobile and desktop environments, bringing all primary performance metrics into standard target ranges. The custom middleware established stable data synchronization between the store checkout and the warehouse system, resulting in zero order processing errors or lost customer records during initial traffic spikes.

Project management was structured and predictable. We communicated daily via a dedicated Slack channel and ran bi-weekly progress reviews through Jira. WGT Core stuck closely to the agreed-upon milestone schedule. When scope adjustments or edge cases arose during API integration, their technical team raised the issue promptly and outlined available options before proceeding.

Their practical engineering approach stood out. Rather than simply executing task tickets as written, their developers evaluated our technical specifications and recommended minor adjustments to the API middleware structure that streamlined backend data calls and simplified ongoing maintenance for our team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something WGT Core could have done differently?

During the initial week of onboarding, documentation for the early API sandbox environment was somewhat limited, which required a few extra coordination calls between our technical lead and their developers. Once a standardized documentation process was put in place during the second sprint, communication proceeded smoothly for the remainder of the build.
