They built the operations side of the client's logistics business. Goods receiving at the warehouse, stock levels, and assigning loads to vehicles and drivers. All of it had to line up with the accounting system the client already had, which is old and which nobody wanted to touch. So a real chunk of the job was reading that system, working out what it actually holds, and getting the new one to write back into it without breaking the books. They scoped it first and gave us a plan we could argue with, then built it. Handover included documentation and a walkthrough with the client's own people.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The client's warehouse and dispatch run on it now instead of on spreadsheets and phone calls, and the accounting side still balances, which was the part we were most nervous about. Our own engineers stayed on the data work the whole way through and never got pulled into firefighting somebody else's build. That was the entire point of the arrangement and it held.

Solid. Weekly calls, written notes after each one, and they flagged the slip early instead of at the end. When we asked for something outside scope, they told us what it would cost in time before agreeing to it, which we'd rather have than a quick yes.

They took ownership properly. We've partnered with dev shops that technically deliver but leave every decision sitting with you. This wasn't that. They made calls, told us what they'd decided and why, and were fine being challenged on it.

Unpicking the client's old accounting system took longer than anyone had put in the plan, and the first milestone slipped by a couple of weeks because of it. Hard to say anyone could have known upfront. We'd still have liked a bigger buffer on that phase from the start.
