We had weekly zoom calls and were in daily communication over email. Timelines and deliverables were clear and the team adhered to the project guidelines. Overall it was a great experience.

What challenge were you trying to address with Website Iconix?

I hired Website Iconix to build a website for my company.

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Website Iconix built the website from scratch on Shopify. I gave them creative freedom, as I had no specific requirements. 

Initially, they asked me to fill out a questionnaire. They came up with a design, and after I approved it, they started working on the development. 

What is the team composition?

There were 5–6 people from their team. I initially spoke with David (Business Development Manager). One person was solely responsible for my project, and there were team members that worked with him. Additionally, I was in touch with the designer and the marketing expert. 

How did you come to work with Website Iconix?

I found Website Iconix through an online search. I contacted some of their previous clients, who gave me positive feedback about the team. I decided to hire them to build the website. 

How much have you invested in them?

The investment was between $5,000–$6,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I worked with Website Iconix from June–July 2023.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Website Iconix’s work was exceptional. No revisions were needed due to their impeccable attention to detail. They got everything right on the first try and promptly handled any requests. Their work was directly relevant to my business, and I valued their dedication to that.

How did Website Iconix perform from a project management standpoint?

The project management was well executed. It wasn't a rushed project, and there weren't strict deadlines to meet. The Website Iconix team was highly organized throughout the project. Communication occurred primarily via Teamwork and email on occasion.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s difficult to pinpoint one impressive thing about Website Iconix, which shows how good they are. If I were to pick out one specific thing, it would be that they delivered quality work on time. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of any areas for improvement. Website Iconix completed the project quickly, so I had little time to consider what could be improved.

How did your relationship with the partner evolve? 

At the start, I was not satisfied with the services since nobody understood what I needed. But Mr. Jayden from the Compliance Department contacted me and ensured everything was catered according to my requirements.

After the compliance department took over the changes, I was satisfied and my faith restored back in the company.

In what ways can they improve? 

They need to improve their communication with their clients so everything can go smoothly from the start.

What advice to you have for clients with similar needs to yours? 

You need to make sure they understand what you need. You shall follow their instructions closely. You shall not give up until you succeed.

My company hired Website Iconix to design a website for business.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I selected Website Iconix after I saw an advertisement of this company.

Each stage is rigid, not flexible, not productive. It took several months to design but just could never complete.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Not sure how many.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The designed website was never completed and published. The Square e-commerce was never finalized and set up. The translation errors were never corrected as requested. The designed website was a defective product. It can never be published. I lost over $900 on this defective product.

Website Iconix was dishonest in its practice. Its Manager Harry Dames tricked me into purchasing 1-year hosting service which was not required by Website Iconix. He kept lying to me by claiming they could not make corrections because there was no one in his company who can read and understand Chinese language, which was totally a lie.

Website Iconix failed to include Terms and Conditions in the Project Proposal it sent me to sign. Its Manager Harry Dames failed to provide me with any documents including Terms and Conditions to sign when I placed my 2nd and 3rd orders.

Thus, I placed my three orders without knowing any terms and conditions of Website Iconix, which caused me to miss the best time to cancel my orders and request for refund.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Not effective at all. Website Iconix took forever to make corrections on the designed website as I had repeatedly requested. The use of Translator plugin was a terrible mistake. It has ruined both English and Chinese website pages that it designed for my company.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Not impressive at all. I had the worst experience with this company.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Website Iconix must keep its words. Website Iconix must not lie to its customers. Website Iconix must correct as requested. Website Iconix must repair or refund for a defective design. Website Iconix must ensure it has sent detailed Terms and Conditions to its customers before or when they place their orders.

Additionally, we strive to complete any and all revisions within 2-3 days, ensuring utmost quality and client satisfaction.
The scope of this project was clear from day one, since she purchased one of the packages from our website and all the features of the packages are always extremely evident, in an attempt to minimize confusion. Matters worsened when she asked us to integrate a language conversion plugin which was not part of the initial scope of work decided against the amount she paid.

As a gesture of goodwill, we agreed to help her with it, but the provided us with pictures in Chinese language, not text, and asked us to get that text on the website, which is not possible as we don't have resources that understand Chinese.
She decided to file a chargeback against us and we pleaded our case against that and won, and only because of that now she is looking to make false claims in an attempt to defame the company.

We were willing to help her with her project then and nothing has certainly changed now, because we don't believe in false marketing and winning business through lies.
