What challenge were you trying to address with WebFX?

Initially, we hired WebFX to help improve our keyword ranking and build content for placement on our website. Recently, we added the goal of having our website redone so that it was optimized for improving organic traffic volume.

What was the scope of their involvement?

WebFX has been helping us with an inbound lead growth strategy that includes researching, developing, and implementing a full content and keyword strategy to increase qualified organic traffic and web leads. This includes SEO optimization and keyword ranking research. Additionally, WebFX gathers actionable campaign performance data, including leads, calls, revenue, company visits, and competitor activity using MarketingCloudFX. The team provides customized monthly reports and has detailed monthly reporting calls to review work completed, results, and strategy direction into the next month.

WebFX has also redesigned our website in WordPress for improved flexibility and scalability. The team has redesigned the site for best practices for UX and core web vitals and refreshed the look and feel of the site, including improved navigational functions.

We have a single, primary lead for the project, and they have brought in additional team members as needed based on the specific scope of work.

How did you come to work with WebFX?

We had initially found WebFX through a series of web searches and reviews targeting agencies that had experience working with B2B manufacturers. We chose WebFX over other options because of their experience working with manufacturers like us, the size of their team, the resources they offered, and the level of communication provided through the onboarding process.

What is the status of this engagement?

This latest project started in the fall of 2024, and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have seen improved traffic in the few short months. More importantly, WebFX’s expertise made us realize that our current website was not optimized to current UX standards and was actually bottlenecking potential leads and inbound traffic. The consistent communication, stellar project management, and project visibility have given me full confidence that our website will be complete on the date that was set and that it will accomplish the goals we set out to accomplish.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

WebFX has amazing project management. The team has an arsenal of branded tools they use to keep projects moving forward and on time. They have always delivered what was promised on time and keep communication open during the entire process. Additionally, they provide tools and a dashboard for me to log into where I can track the project, view communication, and results any time day or night.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I value the fact that they assign a project lead, they have a large pool of specialists and professionals to tap into, and the WebFX branded tools that are like analytics, CRM, and messaging service all rolled into one. I don’t think there are others that provide all of those benefits. I highly value consistent and honest communication, and I feel that WebFX has always delivered in that area.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything I would change. However, I think we could have spent some time going more in-depth about our business goals and pain points so that we could have come up with a different strategy from the very start. This really isn’t the fault of WebFX. We came to them initially looking for help in the SEO area, and they quoted and started the project from that perspective.

WebFX completed an entire website re-design for us to get us over to Wordpress, taking all of our current website information and revitilizing it and updating it with new information. They also took over running our Google PPC ads, ensuring our Ad budget is most efficiently being spent to get us the most business possible, and meets with us monthly to go over how the ads are performing. Additionally, they are handling our SEO work to increase web traffic through having a more optimized website. One of the ways they've went about that is by writing up new pages and blog-posts on our site that best encapsulate and share the work that we do. Again, we meet monthly to discuss how everything is performing month over month. We have also jsut began doing more local SEO work, ensuring all local listings are up to date, and posts are actively done on Facebook and Google.

Increased ROI on Google PPC Ads, increased web traffic, a noticeably improved website (not quite measureable but if you saw the two you'd say it was a measureable difference, ha), and an increase in the amount of available information on our site and local listings.

Every need I've brought to their attention has been dealt with and handled efficiently beyond our expectations, and they have been quite gracious in their support of our many needs. The delegation of tasks between the team seems to be done quite efficiently as well, as anyone I've met or discussed with from any portion of the work I described has been very understanding of the project and tasks at hand.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebFx?

We hired them to design and refresh our web page, as well as handle our internet marketing and SEO. The goal was to bring in prospective clients and market to specific areas of law that we practice, including sexual harassment, race discrimination, gender discrimination, employment law, and wage payment and collection.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We put out articles on our website, and WebFx refreshed those articles to reflect changing topics in the law that interest our clients. They also do targeted outreach through our website to improve our placement on search engines and drive prospective clients. They work on all search engines but obviously cater to Google, which includes staying on top of Google’s criteria as it changes.

They also work in conjunction with other services we have. It’s important for us to identify who’s finding us and how they’re finding us. The most sought-after information in SEO or marketing is where your leads are coming from. WebFx tracks where our leads come from. It can be confusing, as there are multiple ways to contact us: emailing us directly, chatting through our website, hyperlinks on other websites, etc.

We have a partnership where they’ll analyze our marketing portfolio and let us know if certain channels aren’t producing the way we want them to. They also update our web design when needed.

What is the team composition?

We primarily work with Steven (Marketer), and he’s excellent — constantly available if we need him.

How did you come to work with WebFx?

They’re a local business here in Harrisburg, as are we, and we both got started around the same time. We know the owner from a completely separate endeavor, however, and ended up meeting him after we had an unfortunate situation with our previous vendor. That partner didn’t keep up to date on Google’s indexing preferences and we fell behind in our specialized areas of law.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $300,000–$500,000.

We’ve been working together since September 2014.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We do reviews with Steven where he shows us how we’ve been improving — we’re always moving upward in our metrics.

We haven’t seen a dropoff in leads, either, and our business depends on leads. We’ve had significant growth in this category every year that we’ve worked with WebFx.

How did WebFx perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate in person and through Basecamp, where they’ll post items. Direct emails and phone calls also take place.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Steven is very thorough and gets back to us quickly, turning things around at a rapid pace. They’re a very well-run company.

I also greatly enjoy how they’ve structured our engagement. Steven is our contact, but we still get the benefit of working with the entire company. Everything piggybacks off of our contact, which is really nice.

Nothing like this has revealed itself in this situation, or we just aren’t aware of it because they’re handling everything very well.

We saw a clear increase in SEO KPIs, including new users, new leads, backlinks, and more sessions, with about a 100% increase in these metrics within a year. WebFX's work on backlinks, copywriting, and optimizations contributed to this increase.
