Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of business development of Engcomp, a business services company. We provide engineering and decision analysis services for Western Canada’s heavy industrial sector. We support clients from conceptual engineering to detailed design across industries such as mining, chemical processing, and food processing.

What specific goals or objectives did you hire WBM Technologies to accomplish for Engcomp’s projects in the heavy industrial sector?

We wanted them to act as a partner, not just our IT and managed services vendor.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

WBM Technologies provides ongoing managed services, acts as our Microsoft software vendor, hardware vendor, and security consultant, and helps us with cloud migration projects. They’ve set up a SharePoint cloud network for us and moved our on-premises server to Azure. They continue to provide ongoing support for this new cloud network.

What is the team composition?

We work with 6 to 8 teammates from WBM Technologies.

How did you come to work with WBM Technologies?

We found them through a referral. We chose them over other options because they had high ratings, were close to my geographic location, had a great culture fit, offered good value for the cost, and had company values aligned with ours.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in 2006, and the engagement is ongoing. They have been a valuable partner for a very long time.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

WBM Technologies' work has resulted in positive user feedback and stable network availability. Our adoption rate for cyber training is high, and our team usually works at peak capacity, technology-wise. Overall, our productivity and efficiency remain positive and steady.

How did WBM Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

WBM Technologies' project management is great. They deliver on time and are very responsive. We communicate via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their people management skills and ability to pivot when necessary are impressive. They remove a lot of complications in delivering MSP services, and their people are great.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There's nothing they could improve on. They are always asking for feedback and changing their processes to improve.
