I am Senior Director of Software and Operations with AlignCare Services LLC who are a healthcare data analytics company developing software to identify and manage at risk patients.

Staff augmentation project where vascar resource was embedded in the AlignCare Services team. The projects involved .NET, C#, SQL Server and Microsoft Azure technologies.

What were your goals for this project?

Develop features as per specified by the business team. Maintain certain services related to operations. Further automate operational processes.

How did you select this vendor?

Held interviews and tech tested potential candidates with phone screens and questionnaires. Vascar with pro-active in identifying resource with the required skills and good communication ability in English language. The augmented resource was available full time throughout the core business hours for Eastern US.

Describe the project in detail.

The vascar resource was embedded in an existing development team and participated in daily scrum and other meetings related to the on going development. The tasks assigned with varied some tasks required the Vascar resource to acquire new skill sets. Specific tasks included developing excel reports using EP Plus library, research into Azure Automation, developing SQL Server stored procedures required by the business.

Team composition was one vascar resource added to small size AlignCare development team (5-6 developers)

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The vascar resource communicated effectively and was able to meet project goals. The resource went further than the project specifics in many cases to add value to the project.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow was effective, the vascar resource participated in all project and daily meetings and was available throughout core business hours for Eastern US.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Competitive rate, good communication follow up with Vascar team regarding the ongoing project. Willingness to work with AlignCare to help achieve its goals.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We initially wanted two staff from vascar but struggled to find a candidate who did well in the interview and selection process. In the end we only took one developer from Vascar. Initial technical screening to identify candidates could be improved.

I’m the CEO of a company that builds algorithmic trading systems for large institutional industries. We’ve been in business for about two years.

What challenge were you trying to address with Vascar Solutions?

As a small and new company, it was really hard to find good developers at an acceptable price. Not a lot of people wanted to join us when we first started, and we were looking for talent anywhere just to help us get going. We just wanted to have someone come in and work for us as a dedicated outsourced team.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Vascar Solutions helped us build what we needed to build. The work primarily consists of C++ development, which is what our backend trading system is built on. We had a hard time finding people who weren’t iOS, web, Java developers, or something along those lines. Vascar Solutions was able to find us people who knew how to code in C++, which is rare. 

What is the team composition?

They were able to find us a couple of candidates fast, which we hired without a doubt. We’re pleased with the assigned team, and they’re still working with us.

How did you come to work with Vascar Solutions?

I worked with Vascar Solutions at a previous job where I was the CTO. They were originally hired to build a GUI over a year-and-a-half term, and they did a great job. I believe they’re still working with that company. We looked for other vendors for this engagement, but it was an obvious choice. People skilled at C++ are really hard to find. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’re spending around $5,000 per month on their services. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Vascar Solutions in October 2017, and the collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

One of the people we hired from Vascar Solutions has really grown with us and is now a senior developer. He’s helping us train the other people we hired in Toronto. I don’t know if this is a growth metric, but we appreciate this person taking on a more senior role with us. We trust Vascar Solutions and know that we can rely on them to not pull out the developers we’re working with.

Furthermore, they’re forthcoming about developer costs. I prefer someone telling me straight up if a developer left because of payment issues. 

How did Vascar Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

We haven’t engaged them for project management but rather for staff augmentation. The process was pretty easy. I got in touch with them about the resources we needed and they worked with us to find people. I was involved in the search process. I gave candidates a test, interviewed them personally, and got a chance to work with them, which made a world of difference. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

First of all, we can really trust them. The fact that they wouldn’t do anything that isn’t trustworthy is a huge plus and it’s a difficult thing to find. Secondly, Vascar Solutions has good communicators that will look after our needs, which also is rare. Their team will work with us to do whatever we need, almost becoming part of our company. That’s exactly what we want from a vendor.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing I think they’re missing is scalability. If they keep growing, it will give me more opportunities to use them. Some companies can have 5,000 people on their staff, which makes it easier to find the right resource. Vascar Solutions is headed that way, so I don’t think it’s something that hinders them.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I have sent two people to Vascar Solutions, actually. I advise clients to go to Roberto (Senior Managing Partner, Vascar Solutions) and have him figure the project out. Don’t keep it too formal but rather have a conversation and explain project needs. Roberto has a very good personality and listens to clients.

I am the CEO of a tech-media company that allows news and entertainment media companies to instantly crowdsources pictures and videos. Users can submit media through our app while simultaneously viewing a real-time map of all of the interesting, news/pic-worthy things happening right next to them.

We hired Vascar Solutions to design and develop our platform, which includes the iOS app for users, a web app for news and entertainment media companies, a web app for our company, and a robust backend enabling it all. 

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals were to design, complete, and test the entire platform at a competitive price.

How did you select this vendor?

We selected Vascar Solutions after issuing an RFP to five vendors. We reviewed all responses, conducted interviews, and ultimately selected Vascar Solutions because they earned the highest grade on our scoresheet. Key differentiators were quality and thoughtfulness of proposal, technology selection, communication of team, language and time zone of team, and pricing structure.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The RFP response process enabled Vascar Solutions to develop a roadmap that served as our starting point for our media-sharing platform. The solution is complex and involves interlinking a variety of existing third-party technologies, so it must be developed using multiple languages/platforms.

Major steps have included:

• Team intros to set our ways of working and a detailed overview of the requirements
• Iterative design of iOS app and Web apps, including review session multiple times a week 
• Development and iterative testing (this is where we are now)

What was the team composition?

Our solution requires multiple skill sets provided by Vascar Solutions. We’ve worked with managing directors to support the overall project and work through major issues and scope changes, a lead project manager, a lead iOS developer, an iOS designer, a web app designer, a web developer, a DevOps lead, and a backend lead.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

To date, the team has delivered an excellent work-in-progress product. One important thing to mention here is that their ability to own tasks, communicate progress, and overall work style have created a very positive experience for us.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

There’s one project management lead who serves as a single point of contact. It’s highly effective to have one "throat to choke," so to speak.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive part of this is the excellent team that they brought to us at the price offered.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The only area of improvement is to deploy all team members to test the product more thoroughly throughout the process.

I’m the CEO and founder of Fantasy Football League Ltd. We host daily and weekly contests for UK soccer leagues.

We hired Vascar Solutions to help us build our idea as a mobile and web. We had our idea but needed assistance to build the UX/UI—both the prototype and visuals of the app.

Our goal was to make our idea of a mobile and web app become a reality.

How did you select this vendor?

We selected Vascar Solutions through careful consideration and after several discussions with many developers. Vascar Solutions fully saw our vision and provided some great new ideas for the UX/UI process.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Vascar Solutions designed our entire prototype, our visuals, and UX/UI interface. The team also built our informational website that we launched until our official app was ready to go. Vascar Solutions did a fantastic job coding the backend elements of our app. Our app has stricter requirements than most since it has to abide by the UK Gambling Commission. Vascar Solutions jumped on the phone with our gambling lawyers, wrote a list of all necessary measures they will need to take, and executed it perfectly.

What was the team composition?

The team is composed of 10 highly efficient team members to cover each area of the project, such as design, marketing, gaming, backend coding, and management to ensure they hit all of our deadlines.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Vascar Solutions has built our entire mobile app for iOS and Android, our website, and our web app. Without Vascar Solutions, we would not have a business; we’d only have an idea.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project management is very efficient and productive. Vascar Solutions always ensures that we hit all of our deadlines. They stay on top of our project and needs at all times. The team is very structured. Regardless of holidays, we have weekly phone calls with our project manager to discuss any concerns and provide weekly progress updates.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their efficiency stands out most to me. Vascar Solutions has a team of 10 working on our project, but it feels like a team of 50. They assist with all changes and builds we request and make sure we are always on top of our deadlines no matter what curve balls come up.

There is very little they can improve on.

I’m the director of operations for the leading workers’ compensation company in New York. We partner with businesses to oversee their insurance claims as an outsourced risk management company.

We wanted to create a mobile app that would allow our clients’ injured employees to instantly get information on workers’ compensation.

Our goal was to have a professional, user-friendly app that would make life easier for our clients and their employees.

How did you select this vendor? 

We selected Vascar Solutions because they were extremely motivated, quickly understood and identified our wants, and made phenomenal recommendations.

Their development team initially built prototypes of the mobile app for us to test. Once we approved the prototypes, they created the app as specified. Not only did the final product inform workers of their compensation options, but it also enabled them to take photos of hazards and notify parties of injuries. 

What was the team composition? 

The team consisted of multiple developers who updated us daily in regard to what they were working on for our project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? 

The app looked even better than we had envisioned prior to hiring Vascar Solutions. 

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was productive and well-organized. They coordinated the process through Slack, delivering daily status updates and following the project outline perfectly.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their communication and organization made the project seamless.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, there’s nothing to improve. The project went perfectly and was completed in a reasonable timeframe.

I'm the CEO of Etale. We're a cryptocurrency trading software provider.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Vascar Solutions?

We were looking for a vendor to help us develop a trading platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They're developing the frontend for our trading platform from scratch. They also do a lot of the design work to make the software look professional. The software is intended for institutions and corporations and it provides a uniform intelligent interface to the cryptocurrency changes. Some of the key technologies they're using are JavaScript, React, Go, and AWS. In addition, they do DevOps, assist with backend development, and help us maintain and utilize blockchain.

What is the team composition?

We've worked with three designers, about six developers, and a project manager over the course of the engagement.

How did you come to work with Vascar Solutions?

I've known their founder for many years and I worked with him at my previous company. They did a great job, so I decided to go back to them.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent about $120,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in October 2018 and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We're very happy with the design and the quality of their code. They work quickly and are always making progress. Also, they're very responsive and resolve any bugs immediately.

How did Vascar Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Our technical team does a lot of the project management, so Vascar is like an extension of our team. It's a collaborative project and they do a great job working with our plan. We mostly use Slack, Google Hangouts, and email to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're very hardworking and motivated. They do high-quality work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. We're happy with what they've delivered.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They're competent and experienced developers.
