We've used UXBee in several projects that required rapid prototyping. From mobile, desktop and even hardware apps. They build out mindmaps to capture the scope and ensure no detail is left out. Then they go through several phases of UI/UX design from low fidelity all the way to high fidelity. We use them as a proxy to our design team and effectively scale our team by often working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Every project was completed to satisfaction. The work was methodical and professional. The output figmas are of industry standard and easy to hand off to clients when completed.

They are not US timezone-based so sometimes it's harder to coordinate efforts, though they do their best to be available in our timezone during critical phases.

I’m one of the co-founders of Papaya; we’re a plant-based and vegan restaurant delivery marketplace.

What challenge were you trying to address with UXbee?

We went through a rebrand and needed help building our website and marketplace to align with our new branding. We engaged UXbee to design the UI/UX to make it intuitive, clear, and useful for our customers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

UXbee has worked alongside a team of freelancers to help design our website and marketplace. First, we met to scope out the design portions of the project; I shared the requirements and described the different pages and flows we wanted for both web and mobile. Then, UXbee took our specifications and started working on the website design from scratch using Figma. 

First, they built the wireframes for each page and flow. Once we provided them with the rebrand materials, they applied the new branding, colors, and font to the wireframes to develop the final design. They also designed and built our landing pages according to the new design. Now, they help us with a few design elements here and there.

I worked primarily with the head of the studio, who interfaced with the rest of the team.

We found UXbee through Upwork; we communicated back and forth with the team and then met to discuss the project scope. They sent me their portfolio, which impressed me, so I moved forward with the partnership.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Although we’re still in the development phase, they did a great job transforming the requirements into compelling UI/UX designs that align with our branding. We’ve been pleased with the partnership. 

How did UXbee perform from a project management standpoint?

UXbee has executed a seamless, professional project management process, and we’ve enjoyed working with them. The team has consistently respected our deadlines and remained communicative when they’ve faced obstacles. We met for daily check-ins during the design stage, and they constantly updated us on progress and spoke up when something was unclear.

They’ve always applied our feedback and worked collaboratively with our other freelancers, which we’ve appreciated. The team has used Trello and Miro to keep up with tasks; they’ve done an excellent job in this regard. We’ve primarily used Slack and Zoom to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been most impressed with UXbee’s energy and desire to solve problems and get things done as a team. They’ve approached the project with positive energy and an eagerness to perform to the best of their ability. Their jovial nature has contributed to the overall team dynamic and animated our conversations during meetings.

We were working the UXbee team to create a prototype demo to use to start pitching the concept and generating financing backing. The prototype was for both web and app use.

UXbee had a great portfolio with previous work that really resonated with what our team wanted to create. They had great design elements and had experience developing a prototype for both desktop and mobile versions.

A main project manager and developer was our main point of contact, and really provided our team with a great experience and a great product that truly brought our vision to life.

We are at the beginning stages of development, but the prototype UXBee helped us create helped us bring an essential member of the team onboard and won him over to help grow the business. We are confident this prototype will also help us as we pitch investors.

We had multiple scheduled zoom meetings and great communication via Upwork in between. The communication with the UXBee team was really great, and the team was available to answer questions and work within our schedule.

I loved how professional this company was, in both their communication, development and ability. The website was built out well enough for our team to know they have the expertise we were looking for. Our team was really impressed with the overall experience, and everyone we've shared the prototype with is very impressed by the functionality and design. We would love to work with UXBee again at any time.

No areas of improvement, we were very impressed with the whole experience.

We have received numerous complaints from users about the opacity of our website and the overall system, from registration to accessing content. We knew our website was overly complex, but weren't sure how to fix it.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We have posted the project at one of the online marketplaces and selected 3 candidate companies based on experience and reviews. The finalists were interviewed and given specific questions related to our problems. UXbee came out the winner.

Essentially, we described the problem and told UXbee: "Figure out what needs to be done and do it!" Throughout the project, UXbee would come up with ideas for revamping different parts of the system, explain why they are recomming this, and after getting our sign-off, they would implement the proposed solutions. We were impressed by the flexibility of the reviewing tools and the ease of their use.

At different stages of the process we have worked with 4-5 people directly, icluding designers, developers, and a project manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

After the implementation, our Google Analytics data indicate improved user journey through the website. Unsolicited comments from our users have been extremely positive as well.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It worked pretty well overall, the project was well-organized and the reviewing tools were extremely flexible. UXbee worked with us on our time, even though we are 7 hours behind them.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

From the very beginning (applying for the project) they demonstrated that they are taking this project seriously. Unlike some other vendors who don't give the poject any real thought uintil hired,  UXbee suggested quite a few good ideas just to show what they can do. It worked!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would have loved for them to have an expert in our technical field (chess), but I know it is not realistic. Between our feedback and user inteviews, they managed quite well.

We needed a frontend developer. We already knew who’d be our audience, but we had a couple of questions about the actual UX.

What was the scope of their involvement?

UXbee made it easier for our users to onboard the product. They initially laid out a clear path with different milestones, tasks, and estimated times. When we had questions or problems with the product, they helped us formulate our ideas. Overall, they shared their opinion on what they thought would be good for the project. The team used Figma for the design.

We worked with three people, including their CFO and CTO.

How did you come to work with UXbee?

We found them through Upwork and noticed their ratings. They were very transparent, and their pricing and communication were good. Also, we needed someone that could work with the team, and they were good at that.

The project began in June 2021, and we completed it in August 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They were awesome. Whenever we had a question, they immediately shared their opinion and efficiently went through it. If we needed changes, they’d do them quickly. UXbee always delivered on time. Moreover, they made our concept much more user friendly for the consumer.

How did UXbee perform from a project management standpoint?

We initially thought the time zone would be an issue, but they always accommodated our time. Also, we were in clear communication with their team. We primarily communicated through Upwork, WhatsApp, and Skype, so we used a couple of different channels.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were flexible and willing to undertake new tasks and milestones. We changed our goal, and they were accommodating and willing to go above and beyond their duty.

No, there wasn’t anything.

Hire them sooner than later. UXbee is a great asset to any team.

We noticed that the user interface of our website wasn't optimal. Sometimes it wasn't fully clear for users where they needed to go to find the products/services they wanted and complete the purchase.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We searched online for an experienced UX designer who could not only implement a more modern design for our website, but also consult and design those changes that would increase usability and conversion. Uxbee was very pleasant to work with and provides us some good ideas on how they were planning to modify the site to increase usability and conversion. We selected them because of easy and prompt communication as well as the quality of their advice.

UXbee researched our site and suggested us which best practices could be implemented. After that they created mockups and worked closely with us to finalize the concept. During this process they considered the best practices/working of our ecommerce platform to ensure that implementation of the final design would be smooth.

Finally their graphic designer created the designs that could be handed over to our development team. During development they communicated with the developers and provided feedback on the implementation.

We were pleased with the provided mockups and designs created by Uxbee. After implementation we noticed a significant decrease in dropouts in the checkout process.

Their involvement in realizing the end result was really fantastic to work with. Especially after they had finished their deliverables (the design) they continued to support us during implementation. It was really nice to not get the feeling that they were in it to create value for us and not just for the money.

Off course there's always room to improve oneself, but with Uxbee I cannot really think of some specific points to improve.
