The history of Uncle Hilde’s traces back to 1896, when Mark “Hilde” Hildebrand’s grandfather started a lumber business in Pennsylvania. As a third generation lumberman, Hilde moved to New Hampshire shortly after graduating from forestry school in 1985 and went to work for one of the largest specialty lumber wholesalers in the Northeast. It was there that he spent over 20 years in sales and purchasing while developing strong ties with lumber manufacturers and distributors from New England.
