Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the assistant to the city manager of the City of Fate. We are a community of about 15,000 residents located in Rockwall County, Texas.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Two Trees Productions?

We were looking to expand our economic development as the City of Fate continued to grow. We wanted to share a series of videos educating residents of our regional areas that might be interested in joining our community.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We collaborated on three videos in 2017. Our team provided a broad scope for each project and Two Trees wrote the script and managed the production process. The first visual outlined the plans for the redevelopment of our downtown area. Their team used renderings of aerial footage and architectural elements to provide current and potential residents with a full view of our future plans. A second video compiled interviews with local business owners discussing the benefits of operating in our city and the relationships they formed with the community. The third video was specifically a welcoming clip for new residents that gave an inside look into our culture and quality of life.

What is the team composition?

I worked with three representatives from Two Trees. They also hired a few subcontractors for assistance with shooting the aerial footage.

How did you come to work with Two Trees Productions?

We worked with them in the past.

How much have you invested with them?

I am not completely sure, but I estimate about $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from July–December 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We posted the videos on Facebook and received a large number of positive comments from our community members. Two Tree’s efforts helped spur excitement in anticipation of the new developments. It increased engagement and solidarity within our city.

How did Two Trees Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

They efficiently managed the project. The team would build a part of the project then check in with us to make sure they were headed in the right direction. We later collaborated to iron out the final details to assure we received a product that best aligned with our initial vision.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed by their ability to understand our values and goals and translate them into informative and expertly produced videos.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t name any specific areas, they really did a great job.

Any advice for potential customers?

Clients working with Two Trees should share visual images and examples of what they are looking to accomplish.

I'm the marketing director at Claimside. We're an online directory for public attorneys and other experts who negotiate and settle property damage claims for the insured.

What challenge were you trying to address with Two Trees Productions?

We were looking for a company to create some marketing videos for us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created one commercial and about a dozen of marketing videos featuring our employees. They managed the entire process: they took our idea and created a script for the commercial, filled the roles with actors, and came up with the setting.

The marketing videos were made for our YouTube channel. I wrote the script for those and Two Tree Productions filmed our employees talk about different topics. The videos describe different aspects of what we do, why people need help, and where to find help.

What is the team composition?

I mostly worked with Gregory (filmmaker, Two Tree Productions).

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in August 2016 and the project was completed in January 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were very satisfied with everything they produced and used the videos as part of our marketing campaign. 

How did they perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very responsive to our feedback. If we changed direction, they did what we were asking.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were professional and delivered a high-quality product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. They gave us everything we needed.

Have a clear idea of what you want and let them roll with it.

I’m the principal and producer at Creative Ammo Media. We are a full-service video and motion graphics production company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Two Trees Productions?

We initially needed a director of photography to shoot B-roll for a client.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve worked on 30–40 projects over three or four years. Depending on the need, Greg (Owner, Two Trees Productions) does everything from single-camera B-roll to script-to-screen projects. We come up with the creative direction and the scripts and he helps us with production and editing through each step of the process. They also have strategic creative capabilities. Each project is unique and their participation varies.

What is the team composition?

Greg I always my primary contact and he oversees his crew.

How did you come to work with Two Trees Productions?

They came to us through a referral from another camera operator. He wasn’t available for our initial project but recommended Two Trees.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent somewhere between $100,000–$150,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2015. Our most recent project finished in April 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We recently worked with a client on a two-day shoot with 12 actors in six locations. They reacted quickly and handled everything wonderfully on-set. They made everyone feel comfortable throughout the process.

Every client we’ve worked with has been pleased with our collaborations and we’ve been hired back every time we use Two Trees. One of our videos was awarded an official selection at a film festival in Texas this year.

How did Two Trees Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

I handle the statistical part of project management and they oversee the creative side. Their management is very good. They respond quickly and meet all our deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are flexible and willing to tackle anything I throw at them. This industry is filled with specialists but Two Trees enters any project we give them with a focused attention to detail. They always make the process enjoyable.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. I like working with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Whether you have a specific idea for your end project or not, make sure you communicate your expectations clearly. We’ve kept everyone on the same page and are very happy with the results.
