Ankit is the founder of turingLabs, a product design studio for complex B2B SaaS. Before starting turingLabs, he built ClearTax’s design team from 1 to 22 and ran design direction at Jupiter. He is an alumnus of Stanford GSB.

We work as an extension of your team rather than an outside vendor. Most engagements start with a short call to understand your product, users and goals, and to agree on whether we’re the right fit. From there, clients choose how involved they want us to be: Sprint (4 to 6 weeks): We take on one clear problem, like a redesign of a key flow or a fundraising prototype, and see it through to a finished result. Embedded (3 to 12 months): Our designers join your team’s day-to-day work, using your tools and rituals. We set design direction and meet with you twice a week to review progress and make decisions. Fractional leadership: For teams that need senior design guidance, we run design reviews, take part in product decisions and help with hiring. Across all of these, we keep communication simple and regular, share work early so there are no surprises, and stay focused on outcomes that matter to your business.

Onboarding is fast. Our aim is to be useful within days, not weeks. Intro call: We learn about your product, your users and what’s prompting the need for design help. If we’re not the right fit, we say so here. Scope and proposal: We agree on the engagement type, goals, timeline and how we’ll measure success. Kickoff: We meet the key people on your team, get access to your tools (Figma, Slack, Jira or Linear) and walk through the product together. Quick immersion: We go through your product, research, analytics and customer feedback, and talk to the people closest to users. Because we’ve worked across many complex domains, this takes days rather than weeks. Early contribution: Within the first week, we share initial observations and start contributing to real work, so you see value right away. From there, we settle into a regular rhythm of reviews and check-ins.

We keep communication simple, regular and transparent, so you always know where things stand. Shared channels: We work in your tools, usually a shared Slack channel, so questions get answered quickly and nothing gets lost in email. Regular check-ins: We meet twice a week to review work, make decisions and unblock anything that’s stuck. Work shared early: We show work in progress rather than waiting for a big reveal, so feedback comes in early and there are no surprises. Clear updates: You get a short summary of what was done, what’s next and any decisions we need from you. One point of contact: You always know who to go to, and senior people stay involved throughout. If something isn’t working or a timeline is at risk, we raise it early and suggest a way forward.

We keep our client list small on purpose. We usually work with around 3-4 clients at a time, which lets senior people stay closely involved in every engagement and keeps quality high. When we’re at capacity, we’d rather tell you upfront and plan a start date than take on more than we can do well.
