We’re a vape company, and we manufacture for E-liquid. I am the Chief Executive Officer.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Towering Media?

Towering Media helped us develop our website. Before that, we were on OpenCart, which I was having a bunch of problems with. We didn’t really have a dedicated web developer, so I was looking to do a Magento site. They were able to assist with that project.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I believe they have a team of about two developers over there, and if we have any extra work, they have an outsourcing partner. For the most part, they were able to assist with every aspect of the development process of the website including hosting and custom extensions, you name it. Everything that we needed as far as the website, they were pretty much able to assist with.

How did you come to work with Towering Media?

Just a Google search and I was able to call them. I got a call back right away after I left a voicemail, and they were able to answer a bunch of my questions. I liked the way that it wasn’t a long automated process of press one and then different departments. It’s a small company, and I was able to get help right away. They were able to give me a quote within the first few hours or so. It was really easy working with them.

How much have you invested with Towering Media?

Probably close to $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with them back in November of last year. For the most part, the website is completed, but whenever we need new extensions installed or a custom extension project, I call them first. They’re usually my go-to company now and we’re working on a custom extension project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I know when we switched our website to them, we were able to increase our conversion rates by about 3%, and I think that was mainly due to the functionality of the website that we didn’t have with OpenCart. Towering Media was able to build a quality site that is basically going to work on mobile, tablet, and desktop, which also has speed and the functionality is easy to use. I think all of that helped our conversion rates.

How did Towering Media perform from a project management standpoint?

Very well. I have no complaints. For the most part, it was one point of contact, Brandon, which would assist in getting a quotation. Sometimes I would talk to the other guy, Chris, and he would help me with different pieces of frontend design and coding that he did on the website. To the most extent, it’s mainly Brandon I speak with over there, so one point of contact. We use mainly email, phone, and then sometimes TeamViewer.

What did you find most impressive about Towering Media?

They’re able to get you a pretty decent quote on a website. They’re pretty competitive as far as pricing goes, and I like the fact that they are a smaller company and that I can call and speak with one dedicated person without having to go through different departments to figure out whatever I’m trying to do.

Are there any areas Towering Media could improve?

At this time, no. They have recently been starting to offer the ability to do custom extensions for clients, which is really great, especially at the rate they offer and the quality of the extension. Nevertheless, I think that in regards to the timeframe, it’s just taking a little longer than normal.
