Introduce your business and what you do there.

I own multiple companies. I’m the CEO and co-founder of Magazine Jukebox. I’m also the VP of SNL Insurance and Financial Services in Suffolk, Virginia, and a co-founder of SNL Enterprises.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tim Yeager, CPA?

I needed corporate taxes, payroll, and bookkeeping services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tim (Owner) handles my corporate and personal taxes for my wife and me. He does biweekly payroll for us using an internal system and aligns with QuickBooks for bookkeeping purposes. Also, he supplies us with profit and loss statements every quarter.

What is the team composition?

He has a couple of employees, but I work directly with Tim.

How did you come to work with Tim Yeager, CPA?

It was probably a referral from a colleague. I ultimately decided to use them due to their transparency, honesty, and integrity. Tim was a calm and collected person, and I never felt that he was just in to make a dollar. For 12 years now, he’s had our best interest in mind.

How much have you invested with them?

It’s between $300,000–$500,000 at minimum.

What is the status of this engagement?

I’ve been working with them for about 12 years. We began working together in February 2012, and our relationship is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Tim is well-versed in his area, and he’s creative. Whenever a new tax benefit is out there, he helps us save money where we need it. He’s also helped us get out of pensions when we owe a lot of taxes.

Moreover, Tim would never jeopardize his integrity or career. We can’t ask him to be dishonest; he isn’t that person. Sometimes I joke with him about telling the government that I spent $100,000 on nothing, but he wouldn’t do that. He has integrity.

How did Tim Yeager, CPA perform from a project management standpoint?

He’s always available and helpful. We communicate over the phone, text messages, and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

His personal touch is outstanding. Tim can handle high volume and corporate things, but he still offers a personal touch. We feel that we’re talking to someone that genuinely cares. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t know.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Set up an appointment and be truthful up front. If you’re trying to find a CPA that will do something you shouldn’t, Tim’s the wrong person. If you want to do things ethically, just reach out to them.
