The project scope was to establish e-commerce solution for the company. Main development was done to create dedicated ERP software to be able to:
purchase goods from the warehouse
write sale invoices for end customers
track margins
integrate with delivery companies

We combined the in-house developer team together with the Thruster team and worked as a single team. The methodology was Agile delivering items every sprint (each 2 weeks). Since the development team was used to working in this way so Thruster team fitted perfectly.

Knowledge sharing - all team members we were working with were not only about delivering direct results but together with that they were insistent on sharing their knowledge with us, wishing that whenever they leave - in-house developers would be able to proceed by themselves. Thruster provided in total 3 developers across the regulatory reporting project. The project was a consequence of 5th AML Directive which ordered financial institutions to build a central reporting mechanism to report to local authorities account and safe deposit box ownership data. During the period when Thruster developers were working on this project, they have build reporting systems for Luxembourg, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. They have contributed to everything from designing the technical architecture, building the solutions, to testing and maintaining them.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Regulatory reporting systems for 5 markets were developed and delivered. Deadlines from local authorities met. We have received high satisfaction evaluation from business stakeholders and no complains about the quality from local authorities.

Developers have been assigned to Agile teams and working closely with other members of the team in iterations (sprints). One team had 2 developers from Thruster and another team had 1. All Thruster developers were senior level. Their deliveries were always high quality and they have been critical part of the success of the project.

It did not feel at all that the developers were not internal Danske Bank employees, they did not feel at all like externals. They have shown great ownership of the project and were not there 'just to do the job'. They have onboarded and trained new squad members and shown that they care for how the solution will be left once they leave. On the technical level, they have been flawless.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Thruster could have done differently?
I believe the communication regarding the contracts could have been better, but thats not only on the Thruster side, but also on Danske Bank's side. However, I as a Product owner, was not involved in this process, so cannot comment on details.
